Today I wish to thank all the fathers of the Parish for handing on the legacy of
faith to their children. I am in Lourdes today and will offer my Mass and prayers
for Fathers and your families to Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette.
This past week was a wonderful week in the Parish as many of our young
parishioners with our youth celebrated Vacation Bible School. A very big thank
you to all who helped - the artists, the chefs, and the supervisors and chaperones;
you helped make it a big success. Again, thank you.
Today’s gospel is very encouraging for us. Jesus tells us that no matter what
storms are at our doors, if we have faith He tells us not to be afraid but to trust.
And eventually in trusting in Jesus the storm will pass by and all will be calm
again. The response of the apostles was that they were amazed. They knew that
Jesus was very special. Jesus was the only one who could make even a storm
obey him. Storms are very strong, but Jesus can even make storms stop. Jesus is
the Son of God.
This week in honor of the Parish Diamond Jubilee (1956-2016), a gift of another
stained glass window will be installed. The theme is a storm - Jesus walking on
water, Peter walking on water and Peter crying out in fear, “Lord save me!” The
Lord saves Peter and calms the storm. This explains that Peter, as long as he kept
his focus and full attention on Jesus, was safe, but when he noticed how stormy
the water was he began to sink into it. He called to Jesus for help; Jesus held out
His hand and pulled him up to safety.

Loving Father,
We, the living stones of
St. Anne Church, warmly
welcome all God’s
children into our
community.
We are committed to
following Christ’s example
by using our time, talent
and resources in reaching
out to the poor, feeding
the hungry and creating a
legacy of faith and hope
for future generations.
Together, as a parish
family, we hope to
continue growing in God’s
Grace and Love.
We ask this through
Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Saint Anne, Mother of
Blessed Virgin Mary,

Joseph, strengthen in our family every bond
of love which unites us --the marriage bond,
the love of parent and child, the bonds of
mutual love among all. Joseph, protect our
family from every danger and from every
threat to peace, unity and harmony within.
Joseph, teach us to be kind and loving
towards one another, careful for one another,
tolerant of one another, forgiving towards
one another. Joseph, may contentment with
our lot and joy in each other abound in our
house, as we seek faithfully to serve and
greatly to love God. Joseph, be a father
towards my family, and pray Mary be a
mother to us. Amen.

Chalice this week at the 4:30 p.m. Saturday
Mass.
From Today’s Gospel:
A violent squall came up and waves were
breaking over the boat, so that it was already
filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a
cushion. They woke him and said to him,
“Teacher, do you not care that we are
perishing?”
He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the
sea, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind ceased and
there was a great calm. Then he asked them,
“Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have
faith?”
Too busy to join a ministry? Not sure about
working with other people? Uncertain if this is
your calling? Have a little faith…Jesus will do
the rest.

St. Vincent de Paul (St. Anne Conference) thanks parishioners…
St. Vincent de Paul wishes to thank parishioners for their continued
support and encouragement. In the first half of FY 2015, your generosity
has helped to enable St. Anne Conference to assist 81 individuals and
115 families for a total of 444 people.
The chart below indicates the assistance breakdown. As of the end of
March 2015, $21,145 had been given to help those in need in our
community.
On average for the past 5 years, the St. Anne Conference has been able to
disburse more than $45,200 annually and assist nearly 300 families per
year. Last year showed an increase as $47,300 went to aid 284 families,
with substantial assistance in 130 cases.
The focus is often on keeping the family whole and in place. It is highly
traumatic for children when the lights go out, the water stops, or the
family has to leave their home.
If you like dealing with people, please consider volunteering by
calling 813-645-0304.
Stay tuned for more information on St. Vincent de Paul in next week’s
bulletin.

Oración de la
Parroquia
Lourdes y a Santa Bernadette.
Dios Amoroso,
Nosotros, las piedras
vivas de la Iglesia de
Santa Ana, les damos
cordialmente la
bienvenida a todos los
hijos de Dios
dentro de nuestra
comunidad.
Estamos
comprometidos a
segur el ejemplo de
Cristo al usar nuestro
tiempo, talento y
recursos en alcanzar a
los pobres, alimentar
al hambriento y crear
un legado de fe y
esperanza para futuras
generaciones.
