Illusionist Accelerator Powder
From intense reds and coppers to soft blondes, Illusionist Brilliant Creme
Highlights offer a full spectrum of highlighting perfection. Enriched with a
super-charged blend of conditioning acacia flower, antioxidant-rich açaí berry
and moisturizing aloe vera, this system leaves hair so healthy you won’t believe
your eyes.
 4R Scarlet (red base)
Illusionist Accelerator Powder allows the colourist to determine the precise
amount of hair colour lift achieved based on the amount of powder used.
Essential amino acids derived from aloe vera soothe and moisturize, leaving
hair supple and conditioned. Avocado oil provides vitamins A, D and E as well
as proteins that create an excellent emollient and help maintain the integrity
of hair. The red shades (4RV, 4R, 5CR and 5CO) do not require accelerator
powder because they are formulated with special chelators that temporarily
disarm hair's negative charge. This unique process allows the colour molecule,
which is encapsulated by PBX®, to lift through natural or colour treated hair
and deposit red shades.

Base Breaking Procedure
Highlighting Procedure
1. D etermine the client’s natural or colour
treated hair colour level using the Level
Finder Swatch Card. If the client’s hair is
between levels, always formulate to the darker
level. The hair colour level serves as a guide
in determining which Illusionist highlighting
formula to use. The Gray Hair Recommendation
Chart below shows which Illusionist shades are
best suited for varying percentages of gray in
the hair. If the client does not have gray hair,
select from the highlight shades recommended
for the hair colour level.
2. Select the preferred Illusionist shade using
the demonstration swatch book and place
swatches in the client's hair.
Formulations include the recommended scoops
of Illusionist Accelerator Powder and the amount
and volume of Pure Oxi Creme Developer to use.
The creme highlight base colour is listed below
the shade name at the top of the chart.
NOTE: Do not combine creme highlight shades.
4. M
easure the recommended scoops of
accelerator powder with the 10-gram scoop
provided, ensuring scoops are level, and pour
into mixing bowl. Dispense 1 application
(½ tube) of creme highlights into mixing
bowl. Measure the recommended amount
and volume of Pure Oxi Creme Developer
and pour into mixing bowl. Whip accelerator
powder, creme highlights and developer to a
creamy consistency. Reduce all components
in formula by half if a small amount of
highlighting mixture is needed.
NOTE: 4RV, 4R, 5CR and 5CO shades at darker
levels do not require accelerator powder.
5. Apply highlighting mixture using an off-thescalp highlighting method (e.g. weaving,
slicing or block colouring). Apply to dry hair.
Illusionist Brilliant Creme Highlights are not
recommended for on-the-scalp applications.
Do not use on hair that is over 75% gray.
3. R efer to the Illusionist Formulation Chart
to determine the exact highlighting formula
needed. Find the preferred Illusionist shade
across the top of the formulation chart. On
either side of the chart, select the client’s hair
colour level and intersect the row and column.
The box is split – the left side indicates
the formula for natural hair, the right side
indicates the formula for colour treated hair.
6. Process at room temperature for 30 – 45
minutes or under a preheated dryer (medium
temperature) for 15 – 30 minutes with a
5-minute cool down. When using a balayage
technique where the highlighting mixture is
exposed to heat, cover hair with a processing
cap to prevent the highlighting mixture from
drying out.

7. To remove highlighting mixture, shampoo
twice with White Tea Sulfate Free Restorative
Shampoo. Apply Scruples NO H2O2 (No
Peroxide) to adjust the hair’s pH, remove
residual peroxide, protect the hair, and seal in
condition and shine. Leave on 3 – 5 minutes
and rinse. Apply White Tea Soothing Daily
Conditioner from scalp to ends. Leave on 1 – 3
minutes and rinse.
CAUTION: Using red shades (4RV, 4R, 5CR
and 5CO) on the same head of hair with light
blonde shades (7N, 8AN, 8N and 9AV) is not
recommended. When red and medium blonde
shades (6AN and 7GN) are applied on the same
head of hair, rinse and shampoo the red and
copper shades 3 times and coat with White Tea
Soothing Daily Conditioner separately before
removing lighter foils from the hair. Doing
so helps prevent the high concentration of
pigment in the red and copper shades from
discolouring the lighter highlights and creating
undesirable tones.
NOTE: Lightening applications will not
completely remove previously deposited
red shades. The hair will retain pale red or
orange pigment.
for hair that is 75% or more highlighted. The Breaking the Base Formulation
Chart indicates the Illusionist highlight shades recommended for levels 5 – 10.
Base breaking is not recommended for natural levels 1 – 4.
2. S elect the shade recommended for the natural level using the Base Break
Formulation Chart below.
N OTE: A slight base break provides ½ – 1 level of lift. A light base break
provides 1 – 2 levels of lift.
Breaking the base is a technique used to soften natural hair colour at the base
in order to diminish the contrast between natural regrowth and hair that is
highlighted through the length.
3. M
easure 1 application (½ tube) creme highlights and 2½ oz Pure Oxi 10 or
20 Volume Creme Developer into mixing bowl or applicator bottle. Whip bowl
mixture to a creamy consistency or shake bottle vigorously.
Breaking the base lightens natural hair colour while depositing soft tone and
can be done in conjunction with an off-the-scalp highlighting method or as a
maintenance service between highlighting appointments. This technique is
recommended on hair levels 5 – 10 that is 75% or more highlighted and 25%
or less gray.
4. A pply highlighting mixture to regrowth area and process for 10 – 15 minutes.
For a more traditional haircolour service, process for 20 – 30 minutes.
• If highlighting the hair prior to breaking the base, apply the highlighting
mixture in Scruples Haircolour Foils or Color Papers and follow with the base
break formula on the regrowth area between highlights
• If highlighting the hair after breaking the base, apply the base break formula to
the regrowth area and then place highlights, blending the highlighting mixture
and base break formula within the Scruples Haircolour Foils or Color Papers

Procedimiento para hacer reflejos
1. Usando la tarjeta de mechones para identificador
de nivel, determinar el nivel de color de cabello
natural o con tinte del cliente. Siel color de cabello
del cliente está en niveles intermedios, formular
siempre el nivel más oscuro. El nivel de color del
cabello sirve como una guía para determinar qué
fórmula de reflejos Illusionist usar. La siguiente
tabla de recomendación para cabellos con canas
muestra qué tonos Illusionist son mejores para
diferentes porcentajes de canas del cabello. Si el
cliente no tiene canas, seleccionar los tonos de
reflejos recomendados para su color de cabello.

Polvo acelerador Illusionist
Desde rojos intensos y cobrizos a rubios suaves, los reflejos brillantes en
crema Illusionist ofrecen un espectro completo de protección al realizar reflejos.
Enriquecidos con una potente mezcla de acondicionador de flor de acacia, açaí
berry rico en antioxidantes y humectante aloe vera, este sistema deja el cabello
tan saludable que no podrá creer lo que verá.
El Polvo Acelerador Illusionist permite al colorista determinar la cantidad precisa
del nivel de color del cabello basándose en la cantidad de polvo utilizado. Los
aminoácidos esenciales derivados del aloe vera calman y humectan, dejando el
cabello suave y acondicionado. El aceite de aguacate proporciona vitaminas A,
D y E como también las proteínas que crean un excelente emoliente y ayudan
a mantener la integridad del cabello. Los tonos rojos (4RV, 4R, 5CR y 5CO) no
requieren polvo acelerador porque están formulados con quelantes especiales
que desarman la carga negativa del cabello. Este proceso único permite a
la molécula de color, que se encapsula mediante el PBX‘, nivelar a través de
cabello natural o tratado con color y depositar tonos rojos.

2. Seleccionar el tono Illusionist recomendado
utilizando el libro de mechones de muestra
y colocando las muestras sobre el cabello
del cliente.

reflejos en crema se indica debajo del nombre del
tono en la parte superior de la tabla.
NOTA: No combinar los tonos de reflejos
en crema.
4. Medir los cacillos recomendados de polvo
acelerador con el cacillo de 10 gramos que se
suministra, asegurando que los cacillos estén al
ras y verterlos en un cuenco para mezclas. Agregar
una aplicación de reflejos en crema (½ tubo) en
un cuenco para mezclas. Medir la cantidad y el
volumen recomendados de desarrollador en crema
Pure Oxi y verterlo en el cuenco para mezclar.
Batir el polvo acelerador, los reflejos en crema y
el desarrollador hasta obtener una consistencia
cremosa. Reducir todos los componentes de la
fórmula a la mitad si se necesita sólo una pequeña
cantidad de mezcla para reflejos.
NOTA: Los tonos 4RV, 4R, 5CR y 5CO
en niveles más oscuros no requieren
polvo acelerador.
3. Consultar la Tabla de fórmulas Illusionist para
determinar la fórmula de reflejos exacta necesaria.
Buscar el tono Illusionist recomendado en la parte
superior de la tabla de fórmulas. A cada lado de
la tabla, seleccionar el nivel de color de cabello
del cliente y unir la fila y la columna. La casilla
está dividida: a la izquierda se indica la fórmula
para el cabello natural, a la derecha la fórmula
para el cabello con tinte. Las fórmulas incluyen
los cacillos recomendados para usar de polvo
5. Aplicar la mezcla de reflejos sobre el cabello seco.
Los reflejos brillantes en crema Illusionist no están
recomendados para aplicaciones sobre el cuero
cabelludo. No utilizar en cabellos con más de un
75% de canas.
6. Dejar procesar a temperatura ambiente durante
30 a 45 minutos o en un secador (temperatura
media) durante 15 a 30 minutos dejando enfriar
durante 5 minutos. Cuando se utilice la técnica
balayage donde la mezcla de reflejos se expone
al calor, cubrir el cabello con una gorra protectora
para evitar que la mezcla de reflejos se seque.
Para obtener una óptima vitalidad sobre el cabello
tratado con color en niveles 1 a 3, procesar
Crimson (Carmesí) (4RV) y Scarlet (Escarlata)
(4R) con calor. Para refrescar los tonos rojos y
cobres, mezclar 1 aplicación de color con 1.5 oz
de Desarrollador en Crema Semi-Permanente Pure
Oxi y procesarlo durante un máximo de 10 minutos
sin calor.
7. P ara quitar la mezcla de reflejos, llavar dos
veces con Champú Restaurador sin Sulfato
White Tea. Aplicar NO H2O2 de Scruples (sin
peróxido) para ajustar el pH del cabello, eliminar
el peróxido residual, proteger el cabello y sellar
el acondicionado y el brillo. Dejar durante 3 a 5
minutos y enjuagar. Aplicar Acondicionador Diario
Suavizante White Tea de la raíz a las puntas. Dejar
de 1 a 3 minutos y enjuagar.
PRECAUCIÓN: No se recomienda usar tonos (4RV,
4R, 5CR y 5CO) en la misma cabellera con tonos
rubios suaves (7N, 8AN, 8N y 9AV). Cuando se
aplican tonos rojos y rubios medios (6AN y 7GN)
en la misma cabellera, enjuagar y lavar con
champú los tonos rojos y cobre 3 veces y cubrir
con Acondicionador Diario Suavizante White Tea
en forma separada antes de quitar los papeles de
aluminio más claros del cabello. Esto impide que
la alta concentración de pigmentos en tonos rojos
y cobre decoloren los reflejos más suaves y creen
tonos no deseados.
NOTA: Las aplicaciones de reflejos no quitarán
completamente los tonos rojos depositados
previamente. El cabello retendrá el pigmento rojo
pálido o naranja.

1. Usando la tarjeta de mechones para identificador de nivel, determinar el nivel
de color de cabello natural del cliente. Las aplicaciones para retocar la base
se recomiendan para cabellos que tengan reflejos en un 75% o más. La Tabla de
fórmulas para retocar la base indica los tonos de reflejos Illusionist recomendados
para los niveles 5 a 10. No se recomienda retocar la base para niveles 1 a 4.
2. Seleccionar el tono recomendado para el nivel natural usando la tabla
a continuación.
La técnica para retocar la base se utiliza para suavizar el color natural del
cabello en la base a fin de disminuir el contraste entre el cabello que crece y el
cabello al que se le aplican los reflejos.
Retocar la base suaviza el color de cabello natural mientras deposita el tono
suave y puede hacerse junto con un método de reflejos fuera del cuero cabelludo
o como servicio de mantenimiento entre las citas para iluminación. Esta técnica
se recomienda en cabellos con niveles 5 a 10, es decir un 75% o más iluminado
y 25% o menos de canas.
• Si se aplican los reflejos antes de retocar la base, aplicar la mezcla para reflejos
en papeles de aluminio para coloración Scruples o papeles de coloración y luego
aplicar la fórmula para retocar la base en el área de la raíz entre los reflejos.
• Si los reflejos se aplican después de retocar la base, aplicar la fórmula para
retocar la base en el área de la raíz y luego hacer los reflejos, combinando
la mezcla para reflejos y la fórmula para retocar la base en los papeles de
aluminio para coloración Scruples o los papeles para coloración.
NOTA: Un retoque leve de base brinda ½ – 1 nivel de potencia. Un retoque leve
brinda 1 – 2 niveles de potencia.
3. Medir 1 aplicación de reflejos en crema (½ tubo) y 2 ½ oz. de desarrollador en
crema Pure Oxi volumen 10 o 20 en un cuenco para mezclar o botella aplicadora.
Batir la mezcla en el cuenco o sacudir vigorosamente la botella hasta obtener
una consistencia cremosa.
4. Aplicar la mezcla para reflejos en el área de la raíz y dejar procesar de 10 a
15 minutos. Para un servicio de coloración más tradicional, dejar procesar de 20
a 30 minutos.
5. Para quitar, enjuagar la fórmula para retocar la base aplicada entre los
reflejos antes de quitar los Papeles de aluminio para coloración Scruples o los
Papeles para coloración para evitar tonos no deseados. Lavar dos veces con
champú restaurador sin sulfato White Tea. Aplicar NO H2O2 de Scruples (sin
peróxido) para ajustar el pH del cabello, eliminar el peróxido residual, proteger
el cabello y sellar el acondicionado y el brillo. Dejar durante 3 a 5 minutos y
enjuagar. Aplicar el acondicionador diario suavizante White Tea de la raíz a las
puntas. Dejar de 1 a 3 minutos y enjuagar.
