To all my friends at Hudson Guild, It is with sadness that I am letting everyone know I can no
longer serve as Senior Advisory Council President due to health reasons. I thank all those who voted
for me and everyone else who have made my short term fulfilling and exciting. But the show must go
on, so, following our organization's bylaws, please give a warm welcome to 1st Vice President Julia
Martin as your new President. As always, the Senior Advisory Council is here to help and support all
the members to make your visits here happy and fun. Happy Holidays and keep safe, Ada Heredia

Fridays, 2:45-3:45: Ballroom Dancing with Ly. By popular demand, Latin Dancing will now be Ballroom Dancing! In this newly designed class, all of your favorite Latin Dances such as Rhumba, Salsa, and the ChaCha will be
taught in addition to the Waltz, Tango, and much more!
Mondays, 11:00-12:00: News on the Net with Daniel has become Assisted Computer Lab. Have you learned
new skills in a computer class that you're not 100% comfortable with? Is there something specific you'd like to learn
or practice on a computer but don't feel comfortable doing on your own? At Assisted Computer Lab, work side by
side with our MSW Intern Daniel who will help you learn whatever it is you'd like to learn. He’ll provide step by step
instructions to help you understand the basic computer skills necessary to set up an e-mail address, a Facebook account, or even just to check the news. Whatever it is you want to learn to do, Daniel will assist you. No experience
necessary. The only requirement is that you come interested in learning more about computers and the internet!
Mondays, 2:30-3:30: Millinery with Ellen Christine. Will be returning on January 11th. Happy Winter!

Membership is FREE & Required to Participate in All Trips & Activities.
You must have an updated, current membership ID card and barcoded key tag. Please see Fulton
Reception or the NORC Office if you need a replacement card or have not yet received a key tag.
NSC Registration Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00 am-11:30 am, Monday-Wednesday & Friday 1:30-3:00 pm.
Pick up a form from Fulton Reception and complete it with one of our staff during registration hours.
Once registered, you’ll receive your temporary membership card & barcoded keytag; your laminated
membership card will be available at Fulton Reception about 2 weeks later.
NSC Re-Registration: Daily 9:00-11:15 am & 1:30-4:30 pm. Pick up a form at Fulton Reception. Fill it
out at your convenience. Return it and get your updated card (& key tag, if you don’t have one) on the
spot.

for fun, fitness and friendship on

WHERE: Leandra's Garden, at the back of 431 17th St.
WHAT: Aurora Flores and Zon del Barrio will delight us with a
"parranda" and Valerie Ghent with jazz-infused holiday classics
ALSO: An artisan fair by PRIDA (Puerto Rican Institute for the
Development of the Arts) + hot chocolate and holiday treats
AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY: A photo exhibition with
pictures brought and taken by participants of "Storytelling
through a lens," open to everyone's memories contributions, will
be set up.

Please welcome our team of health insurance specialists from the Department for the Aging's Office
of Health Insurance Services, who will first join us on Monday December 7th and then be at Fulton
Center weekly on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. They will be available to help you through
information and enrollment assistance.

Pa r t i c i pa n t S p o t l i g h t : D o lo r e s Pa ya n
Dolores Payan was born in the Dominican Republic and attended High
School in La Romana. Upon moving to the United States of America in
August of 1956, Dolores worked in the garment industry, sewing expensive
garments for 27 years. As the industry began to change, Dolores decided to
go back to college at the Borough of Manhattan Community College,
where she received her Associate’s degree as a secretary. While in school,
Dolores remembers receiving a lot of support from her family, who were
very proud of her. After graduation, Dolores worked in Washington
Heights for 14 years and discovered how much she enjoyed working with
people. Dolores then worked as an administrative assistant at the Fort
Washington Houses Senior Center for 11 years. Dolores loves to paint and
sketch and has been doing so for about three years. She is a part of the Whitney Museum painting
class and enjoys going to the NORC and Neighborhood Senior Center. Dolores likes participating in
activities at the NORC, including yoga and the Lunch & Learn. She also takes advantage of the
blood pressure screenings. Dolores has been a proud member of Hudson Guild for 10 years!
