Birchwood News - Birchwood Elementary School
October 1, 2014 Birchwood News Principal’s Message It has certainly been a busy first month of school at Birchwood. I must admit that the positive energy our students bring to school each day is inspiring! Our hope is to continually recognize the positive behaviors our kids demonstrate each day. As a school we have identified several ways we will provide positive reinforcements for students. You may have already seen the GROW leaves coming home and the spectacular tree in the hallway (thank you Mrs. Morgan!). In addition to GROW leaves, each classroom will be recognizing one student per month as a Student of Distinction. We will notify families if their child is chosen as a Student of Distinction and invite them to attend our monthly celebration. At the celebration I will read a narrative for each student and we will take a picture to commemorate the occasion. It will be a great way to acknowledge our outstanding kids and their special accomplishments. By consistently recognizing positive behavior our students will continue to strive to be their best at Birchwood! Please include your first and last name in the email in case we have questions, your school, and a tip of no more than 30 words. We will share the tip and school it came from, but not your name. We are happy to provide this information to you! At any time, you can ask: Whether the teacher met state qualifications and certification requirements for the grade level and subject he/she is teaching. Whether the teacher received an emergency or conditional certificate through which state qualifications were waived, and what undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates, additional degrees, and major(s) or area(s) of concentration.
