27th Sunday in Ordinary Time THE INTRODUCTORY RITES Entrance Chant: Gather Your People Gloria Page 2 LITURGY OF THE WORD Page 3 Psalm Response Gospel Acclamation Sanctus (Holy, Holy) Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made; For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Mystery of Faith LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Preparation of the Gifts: All that Is Hidden Amen Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) Practicing Catholics (those at Mass each week and regular at confession) are invited to receive the Sacrament. Non practicing Catholics should go to confession before receiving Holy Communion. Non Catholics are welcome to come for a blessing (cross your arms over your chest). Estrofas: 1. Por tu inmensa gloria te alabamos, te bendecimos, te adoramos, te glorificamos, te damos gracias, Señor. (a Estrofa 2) 2. Señor Dios, Rey celestial, Dios Padre todopoderoso. Señor Hijo único, Jesucristo, Señor Dios, Cordero de Dios, tú, el Hijo del Padre. (Estribillo) 3. (a Estrofa 4) 4. Árbol de Recuerdo Respect Human Life… Human Life is sacred because from it’s beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the creator, who is it’s sole end. God alone is the Lord of Life from it’s beginning until it’s end; no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent life. If you are an expectant mother in need, please call the hotline at 1-800-910-0191. When will I have given enough of my income, of my time, of my talents? Today’s Gospel suggests that only total stewardship will do: “When you have done all you have been commanded to do, say “We are useless servants. We have done no more than our duty.” SCHEDULE OF SECOND COLLECTIONS 10/13/13 Catholic Voice 10/20/13 World Mission Sunday FECHAS DE SEGUNDA COLECTAS 10/13/13 Voz Católica 0/20/13 Misión Mundial de Domingo SVDP CANNED FOOD DRIVE For the weekend of Oct. 13th, please bring canned tomatoes. Page #9 Shepherds Field Olive Wood Handcrafts Sale of Religious Articles from the Holy Land Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13th after all Masses. As a tradition, many of the Catholic families in the Holy Land work in small workshops to produce religious articles from olive wood. These articles represent the Christian art of the Holy Land. In the past, they used to sell their artwork to pilgrims who visit the Holy Land. However, these days they are facing an economic hardship as very few tourists visit the Holy Land due to security issues. Many of the Catholic families immigrated and left the Holy Land. The percentage of Christians in the Holy Land has dropped to less than 2%. Therefore, if this hardship continues as it is now, we believe that in a few years, there will be no Catholics in Bethlehem or Jerusalem. The struggle to preserve the Catholic identity of the birthplace of our savior; Jesus Christ is a serious concern for Catholics around the world. Sales will be used to help and support the Catholics in the Holy Land and to encourage them not to immigrate. REMINDER: CCD Parents - No Catechism class on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 12.
