PENTECOST SUNDAY
When the front façade of the
Cathedral was being restored,
a space was harrowed out of the back
of the principle gable for a Time
Capsule. We invite individuals and
families who made a pledge and/or
donation to Restore, Renew, Rejoice Capital Campaign to leave a
short message about how the Cathedral has impacted your life and/or
family. You are also invited to simply sign your name. We would like to
leave a written legacy of the importance of the Cathedral to the many
families who have given so generously of their time and financial
resources. We encourage you to make time to go to Bishops Hall after
Saturday and Sunday Masses to sign the book on the weekends of May
15, 22, and 29. Thank you for your suppor t of Saint Mar y Cathedr al!
Cápsula del Tiempo de la Catedral: Cuando hicimos el trabajo en la
fachada de la Catedral, un espacio fue atormentado de la parte trasera del
frontón de principio para una cápsula de tiempo. Invitamos a personas y

4, and June 11, and examine var ious ways we exper ience being
Christ’s Church, as well as the vision of the Church we are called to
become. Presenter is Jaeson Drummond; class location—Library; cost
$48. All are invited. Catechists can earn 16 hours of catechesis credit. To
register, contact Jaeson, at 512-476-4801, or [email protected].
Next Total Consecration Mass, for those that missed the April 4
Mass, will be at St. William Catholic Church, Round Rock, Friday, May 13.

The Sacrament of Confirmation
will be celebrated on Pentecost Sunday, May 15, at 9:30am,
Mass. Space in the Cathedral will be very limited so
parishioners who usually attend this Mass may wish to attend
another Cathedral Masses that day.

The Catholicism Project—
A Journey Deep into the Faith:
Do you want to know more about the Catholic Faith? Fr.
Robert Barron has created a groundbreaking program as a
thematic presentation of what Catholics believe and why, so
that all adults can come to a deeper understanding of the
Catholic Faith. Not a video lecture, Church history, or
Scripture study, this engaging and interesting formational
program uses the art, architecture, literature, music and all the
treasures of the Catholic tradition to illuminate the timeless
teachings of the Church. The program consists of 10
compelling episodes on DVD that reveal the truths of the
Catholic faith in a visually breathtaking and compelling way,
with original, high-definition cinematography. A discussion of
the theme will follow each DVD presentation. DVD’s will be
shown on Tuesday evenings, 6:30pm, starting May 24, in the
Donahue Center Cafeteria and ending on July 26. Ther e is
no cost for this presentation. Any questions, feel free to
contact Deacon Vince at 512-576-4788.

The Ascension of the Lord
Choosing Joy: Through Mary and Mercy into Joy!
Cathedral School of Saint Mary
Facilitated by Sally Robb, this day retreat is for women of all
ages. Tickets are $40 and include lunch catered by Sala &
Betty. Saturday, May 21, 9:30am-3:00pm, at St. Austin
Catholic Parish. Get tickets online at
choosingjoy.eventbrite.com.
Did you attend Cathedral School of Saint Mary?
If you attended or graduated from Cathedral School, we
would like to keep you informed of upcoming events as we
prepare for our 150th Anniversary Celebrations.
Cathedral School will celebrate 150 years of Catholic
Education in 2016. Help us spread the word! We want to
communicate information regarding this monumental
milestone with all our alumni and friends. Contact Esme
Hoang, [email protected].
We cannot construct joy. We can only receive it. But joy is
not something that "happens to us." We must choose it
every day. We choose joy every time we let ourselves be
loved; when we forgive and are forgiven; when we hope
instead of dread: when we give thanks instead of demanding
to know "why;" when we have faith in the One who sees us,
who knows us, and who loves us. Why should we consent to
mere fleeting, capricious 'happiness,' when joy only awaits
our intentional, loving "yes" to make a home in us? Let's
choose joy!
Speaker Sally Robb co-hosted “Morning Air” and “Mary’s
Touch” on Relevant Radio. She now hosts “Thread of
Grace” on Catholic Radio International.

Starting Anew: June 3-5 at Cedarbrake Catholic
Retreat Center—Those who have gone through the pains
of divorce can feel out of place in a church that teaches the
permanence of marriage. Starting A new is a retreat that
acknowledges the pain, but also looks to build new dreams
and restore hope that one truly is a vital member of the
church and Body of Christ. Brian Egan, Beverly Collin, and
Father Joseph Nisari will lead this retreat. The cost is $210
for private room, $170 for shared room and $95 for
commuter rate; all meals included. For information or to
register, contact Cedarbrake at (254) 780-2436 or
[email protected].
Cathedral Knights of Columbus, Council #14055,
invite you to witness and

Francis has continued to highlight the
importance of families as the domestic

children.” Reaffirm your marriage vows—a special blessing
for married couples will be prayed and certificates distributed
in Bishops Hall. Contact Jessica at [email protected]
or 512-476-6182 by June 10 if you wish to have a certificate
prepared for you and your spouse. If you’re members of
the Cathedral and would like to have your marriage
blessed by the Church, we can help with your marriage
convalidation. Contact the Cathedral Office for more
information.
