Bienvenidos
Queridos amigas y amigos,
Bienvenidos a Montenmedio, otro año más y celebraremos la 22 Edición del Circuito Hípico del Sol. Seguimos
con buena salud, en lo personal y en los Concursos y
Circuitos donde no ha sido fácil, (solo por capacidad )
dejar a muchos y magnífios jinetes y amazonas sin poder
admitirlos.
Este problema ya lo estamos estudiando para darle una
solución el próximo año.
Prácticamente en todo el mundo, el clima sigue siendo una
incógnita y por tanto nos hemos preparado con el objeto
de celebrar un concurso sin sobresaltos o situaciones que
dificulten su celebración. Por tanto hemos efectuado importantes trabajos de previsión, que nos permitan a todos
disfrutar de estas instalaciones únicas y de las que nos
sentimos orgullosos.
Entre las mejoras, muchas podéis verlas a simple vista, aunque otras han sido realizadas, en la preparación, reconstrucción, drenajes, nivelaciones para que puedan disfrutar
de las mejores pistas del mundo tanto en verde como
en arena con el sistema “All Weather” de evacuación de
lluvias y de descompactación profunda para mejorar la
elasticidad de las pistas.
Hemos seguido aumentando los premios y dotaciones,
como la celebración de una prueba más cada semana
puntuable para el FEI Longines Ranking. Que con las que
ya teníamos, suman 4 por fin de semana y la final de caballos jóvenes de 7 años que también será prueba Ranking
por primera vez.
La última semana del Circuito será un CSI4*, subiendo la
categoría del Concurso, haciendo que nuestro Circuito de
Invierno sea único en su categoría en Europa. Nuestro
evento contara con pruebas puntuables para las próximas
Olimpiadas en Rio de Janeiro,(Brasil) así como pruebas
puntuables para los Campeonatos de Europa de Children
- Juniors.
Seguimos estando con el mismo ánimo y entusiasmo que
comenzamos y os agradecemos sinceramente la confianza que nos habéis depositado, asistiendo a nuestros eventos.

Welcome
Dear Friends,
Welcome, once again, to Montenmedio. This year we will
celebrate the 22nd Sunshine Tour. You find us all healthy,
both in person and in entries, the organisation of the Tour
and its classes. However this year it has not been easy
(due to sheer lack of space) to leave out many magnificent riders. We are already working on a solution for this
problem for next year.
In practical terms, the weather all over the world remains
highly unpredictable, so we have thoroughly prepared the
show to run as smoothly as possible without incidents that
might cause any difficulties. We have carried out important work preparing the ground so that all of us may enjoy
these unique showgrounds of which we are so proud.
Many of these improvements are clearly visible, whilst
others have been made preparing and reconstructing, improving drainage and levelling, so that some of the best
tracks in the world may be enjoyed on the grass and sand
arenas. This has been made possible both by using the
“All Weather” system to drain rainwater and by deeply
decompressing the surfaces, hence greatly improving the
elasticity of the tracks.

We have continued to increase prize money this year, and
also the number of ranking classes. There is now one more
class for the FEI Longines Ranking giving a total of 4 Ranking
classes every weekend. For the very first time the Final of
the Young Horses 7yr olds, will be a ranking class.
The final week of the Tour will be a CSI 4*, moving up one
category and making our ‘Winter’ Tour unique as the only
one held in Europe at this level, at this time of the year. Our
Tour also has ranking classes for the Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
Olympics and for the YR/CH European Championships.
We continue with the same spirit and enthusiasm as when
we started this Tour and I sincerely appreciate the trust you
have placed in us by attending our events.

El Circuito Hípico del Sol dispone de las instalaciones
más completas y modernas de Europa para la práctica
de la hípica. Sus siete magníficas pistas verdes de competición y las seis pistas de arena con sistema “all weather”
para ensayo y competición con unas dimensiones de
más de 120 x 80 metros suponen la clave de unas instalaciones que se completa con casi un millar de boxes
fijos de tres metros cuadrados que facilitan un óptimo
cuidado para los mejores caballos del mundo que se dan
cita cada invierno en este enclave gaditano.
A estos espacios de competición y entrenamiento se
suma otra gran pista adaptada a todo tipo de climatología especialmente destinada a dar cuerda a los caballos
y un terreno de 60 hectáreas perfectamente equipado
para las pruebas de enganche, con 30 obstáculos de
completo y diez de maratón.
Unas magníficas instalaciones que el Circuito Hípico del Sol
va mejorando cada año, adaptándose a las últimas novedades
tecnológicas y a las necesidades de la propia competición.
El año pasado se modificó la pista 2, convirtiéndola en una
pista de arena multifuncional que es utilizada como espacio
de ensayo para la pista 1 y también para la celebración de
pruebas en caso de lluvia.
Además, las instalaciones disponen de
un aparcamiento asfaltado para 250
camiones con toma de luz y agua y
otro gran espacio de estacionamiento para vehículos que facilita el acceso diario a las pistas y también ofrece
un servicio de calidad a los visitantes
que deseen disfrutar del desarrollo
del concurso.
Igualmente se ha reemplazado la goma de la zona de cuadras
por un camino de arena compactada para que el tránsito por
este espacio sea mucho más cómodo y seguro para los casi
1.400 caballos que se reúnen en las instalaciones del Circuito
Hípico del Sol.

Facilities
The Sunshine Tour has the most modern horse
running facilities in Europe for the horse riding equestrian sport. There are seven fantastic grass competition arenas and six all weather arenas for training and
competition with dimensions of more than 120 x 80
metres are some of the keys elements of these facilities with almost one thousand permanent stables of
3m x 3m, providing optimal care for some of the best
horses in the world.
A large all weather arena for lounging, and 60 hectares
of land with walking paths, 30 fences for eventing and
10 marathon driving obstacles, all this completes this
competition and training area.
The Sunshine Tour´s facilities improve every year,
adapting to the last technological innovations and the
needs of the competition. Arena 2 was modified last
year, becoming a multifunctional arena for training of
competition arena number 1, or for competition use
in case of rain.
Sponsors
The rubber in the stables has been replaced for a sand surface to facilitate the stability of the horses when walking around
the stables. A Veterinary clinic with highly qualified staff and
material is open 24 hrs for any horse injury.
The facilities include surfaced parking for 250 trucks, with
hook up for electricity and water. Another parking area for
cars facilitates rider’s daily access to the arenas, and may be
used by visitors who wish to enjoy the competition.
There are four restaurants in the competition area with a
variety of gastronomic offer. There is also a VIP restaurant
with views to the main competition arenas, and a shopping
area with 25 commercial stands and WI-FI area for riders and
visitors.
Everything is ready to ensure the enjoyment of the riders,
trainers, and all others who will make the Sunshine Tour their
home during these five weeks of competition at Dehesa
Montenmedio, having in mind that the horse in the main character in our facilities.

22º Circuito Hípico del Sol
Un año más, y ya suma 22, se celebra el Circuito
Hípico del Sol, mundialmente conocido como Sunshine Tour.
Del 11 de febrero al 20 de marzo Montenmedio
volverá a convertirse en el epicentro del mundo
hípico europeo con un Concurso de Salto Internacional 3 estrellas en el que se disputarán más
de 175 pruebas, algunas de ellas calificativas para
los JJOO de Rio de Janeiro de este año y con una
dotación en premios de más de 800.000 euros.
Casi 1.500 caballos y unos 400 jinetes volverán a
reunirse en las instalaciones gaditanas donde, durante seis semanas, competirán al más alto nivel
y comenzarán a preparar a sus caballos para una
intensa temporada.
Más allá de cifras y datos imponentes, el Circuito Hípico del Sol es un evento que reúne a la
élite nacional e internacional de este apasionante
deporte en unos días de competición y entrenamiento, pero también de convivencia y diversión.
Porque cuando el frío reina en latitudes más septentrionales, en el sur de Andalucía ya disfrutamos
de temperaturas cálidas y de soleados días que
invitan a los deportistas a disfrutar de este maravilloso entorno.
La climatología favorable de la zona, unida a las
magníficas instalaciones que caracterizan a Montenmedio, son los elementos claves para que cada
año el Circuito Hípico del Sol sea todo un éxito a
nivel deportivo.
El gran ambiente que se vive en las gradas los fines
de semana durante la celebración de las pruebas
más importantes y, por supuesto, en las pistas, es
solo un ejemplo de la emoción y la grandiosidad
de este deporte y de esta competición.
Seis semanas en las que las amplias instalaciones
cobran vida propia y se convierten en una pequeña ciudad completamente volcada en la práctica
deportiva ecuestre.
Este año, al igual que en la pasada edición, se celebra un Concurso Internacional de Salto 2 estrellas
la primera semana entre los días 11 y 13 de Febrero, para que los jinetes puedan saltar sus caballos
previamente y disfrutar más aún de las instalaciones, adelantando el periodo de preparación y entrenamiento.
Respecto al desarrollo de la competición, de martes a jueves se disputan las pruebas de caballos jóvenes, mientras que el fin de semana llega el turno
de las pruebas más importantes durante las cinco
semanas de competición.
El 20 de marzo se pondrá el broche de oro a esta
intensa competición cuando los 60 mejores jinetes
de las pruebas grandes de todo el Circuito se midan en el Invitational, la prueba más importante del
concurso que se celebra en un ambiente festivo
inigualable.
Porque el Sunshine Tour es mucho más que deporte y competición.

One more year, adding 22 editions of The
Sunshine Tour, where Montenmedio will
be once again the epicentre of the equestrian world in Europe from the 11th of
February to the 20th of March.
More than 175 important classes will be
held in this international 3* show jumping
competition, with a total prize money of
over 800.000€.
Around 1.500 horses and over 400 riders
will meet in our Andalusian facilities one
more time, where for six weeks riders and
horses will compete at the highest level,
and prepare their horses for an intensive
season.
Because while in the northern countries is
still cold, the south of Andalusia experiences sunshine and warm temperatures at
this time of the year, allowing riders to escape from the cold of northern latitudes,
and enjoy our surroundings.
Montenmedio is loved for its fantastic facilities and for the great weather at this time
of the year in this southern region of Spain.
These are the main two reasons why the
Sunshine Tour has became the most successful and probably the best winter tour
competition. Every weekend, the atmosphere in the grandstand demonstrates the
emotion and greatness of this sport.
Regarding the development of the competition; Young horses will compete from
Tuesdays to Thursdays, while the most important classes will take place from Thursdays to Sundays. On the 20th of March,
the 60 best riders classified throughout
the Tour will compete in the Invitational,
the most important class at the show in a
unique atmosphere.
The facilities take on a life of their own
during this time, transforming into a small
town, focused on equestrian life. It is an
event that unites the national and international elite of this exciting sport with competition and training days, but there are
also days for fun and cohabitation.
The Sunshine Tour is much more than just
competition and sport.
This year, as with the last edition, a CSI2*
international jumping competition will
take place the first week of the Sunshine Tour from the 11th to the 13th of February. Allowing riders to jump and train
their horses for further enjoy our facilities,
increasing their period of stay in Montenmedio one more week.

El jinete británico consiguió en
la pasada edición del Circuito
Hípico del Sol vencer su segundo Invitational. Ya lo hizo
en el 2009 con Torino y en
2015 se convirtió en bicampeón de este prestigioso concurso con Basic, confirmando
su gran estado de forma tras
conseguir sendas victorias en
dos Pruebas Grandes con
Casper de Muze y un Pequeño Gran Premio con Golddi
gger, además de otras cinco
en pruebas de 1,45 metros.
¿Qué significó para usted conseguir la
victoria en el vibrante desempate disputado en el pasado Invitational?
Me hizo muy feliz ganar con
Basic el año pasado. Cuando empieza
el Tour estas enfocado hacia el ultimo
Grand Prix porque tiene el premio
con mayor dotación y es una clase
importante para quedar bien, porque
te ayuda a planear el resto del año.
Fue una victoria muy special para mi y
mi equipo porque habíamos perdido a
Torinto en Enero de 2015 y sentimos
que lo habíamos ganado para él.
¿Aspira a revalidar el título en el XXII
Sunshine Tour?
Este año aspiro a ganar todas
las clases del Sunshine Tour que pueda.
El año pasado funcionó realmente
bien con Basic, Casper de Muze y
Golddigger… ¿Volverá a competir en
Montenmedio con estos caballos o
está preparando la nueva temporada
con alguno nuevo?
Voy a traer 4 caballos para las
clases del Ranking, y tambien algunos
caballos jóvenes.
¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de este
concurso?
Tiene una ambiente muy acogedor. Es un gran lugar para sacar adelante a los caballos jovenes y el salto
en el Tour es ideal para los caballos
maduros.
Cada año se hacen mejoras en las pistas, que hacen mas interesante el regreso al Tour.
¿Cuáles son sus retos para la presente
temporada olímpica?
Esta temporada espero tener
de nuevo la oportunidad de representar a Gran Bretaña en los equipos de
Copa de Naciones y mejorar mi posición en el Ranking Longines.

Every year you make improvements to the venue, which make it exciting to come back to.
What did it mean for you to win in
the exciting jump off of last year’s Invitational GP?
This British rider won his second Invitational GP here at
the last Sunshine Tour. His first
win here was in 2009 with
Torinto and in 2015 he once
again became the champion
of this prestigious competition riding Basic, hence confirming he was on top form
after already winning two big
classes with Casper de Muze
and with a victory in the Small
Grand Prix, riding Golddigger;
not to mention five other placings in the 1.45m classes.
I was very happy with the result on
Basic last year. When the show starts,
you are focusing towards the final
Grand Prix because it has the biggest
prize fund and it is a really good class
to do well in because it helps towards
planning your year.
It was a special win for my team and
myself because we lost Torinto in
January 2015 and it felt like we won
it for him.
Do you aspire to win the Sunshine
Tour XXII title?
I aspire to win as many classes as I can
on the Sunshine Tour this year.
Last year it was a great tour and went
well for your horses, Basic, Casper de
Muze and Golddigger. Will you return
to compete in Montenmedio with
these same horses or are you preparing the new season with some new
mounts?
¡Qué buena es
mi mantequilla!
I will bring four horses for the ranking classes, and I will also bring some
Young horses for the tour.
What do you like most about this
contest?
It has a friendly feeling, Its a great place
to get your young horses up and running and the jumping is great for the
older horses. Every year you make improvements to the venue, which make
it exciting to come back to.
What are the special challenges for
this Olympic season?
I hope to get the opportunity to represent Great Britain again this season
on Nations Cup teams and improve
my position on the Longines rankings
list.

Mi preparación va a comenzar en el Sunshine Tour como lo he venido haciendo en los últimos
11 años. Es el mejor sitio con diferencia para sacar adelante a los caballos. Las pistas son realmente buenas y siempre hay muy buen ambiente.
El año pasado fue probablemente uno
de los más exitosos en su carrera hasta
la fecha, ganando la medalla de plata en el
Campeonato de Europa y con una victoria en el Gran Prix del Global Champions
Tour en Chantilly, con Conrad De Hus.
¿Qué momento de 2015 recuerda con
mayor emoción?
Gregory Wathelet es uno de
los mejores jinetes europeos
y a nivel mundial.
Situado entre los puestos más
altos del ranking FEI Longines y ganador de la medalla
de Plata en los Campeonatos
de Europa de Aachen 2015,
Gregory es un gran caballero
y leal amigo del Sunshine Tour,
en el que empieza su temporada.
Por supuesto Aachen fue el mejor momento del año pasado y quizás de toda
mi carrera. En ese momento te vienen
muchas cosas a la mente pero tambien te
das cuenta de que has conseguido algo
fantástico. Pero debo decir que Barcelona
también fue especial porque estaba con
el equipo.
Ud ha montado y producido un gran número de grandes caballos en su carrera,
como Lantinus, Cortes “C”, Van de Broy,
Forlap y su caballo actual, Conrad de Hus.
¿Cual es la clave para llevar todos estos
caballos al máximo nivel?
¡Primero debes encontrarlos, lo que puede ser la parte más difícil! Después, una
vez que los tienes y piensas que pueden
ser especiales debes producirlos y trabajarlos muchas horas, pero dándoles todo
el tiempo que necesiten. Por último, debes
elegir el mejor plan para ellos.
¿Cuantos caballos piensa competir en el
Sunshine Tour este año? ¿Va a montar algún joven talento con futuro?
¿Cuales son sus planes para 2016? Desafortunadamente Bélgica no se ha clasificado para los Juegos Olímpicos. ¿Está
planeando participar como Individual?
¿Cómo va a preparar esta temporada tan
importante?
Voy a intentar clasificarme como Individual. Por supuesto mi preparación va a
comenzar en el Sunshine Tour como lo he
venido haciendo en los últimos 11 años.
Después participaré en el gran show Internacional de Miami en Abril
Estoy planeando traer 25 caballos para
mi y mi jinete. ¡Espero que haya muchos y
buenos jovenes talentos entre ellos!
¿Que es lo que más destacaría del

My preparation will start at the Sunshine Tour as it has done every year for the last 11 years.
It is the best place by far to build the horses up. The arenas are really good and there is always
a good atmosphere. Gregory Wathelet is one of
the best riders in Europe and
worldwide. Placed amongst
the top ranking positions
in FEI Longines and winning
the silver medal in the European Championships at
Aachen 2015. Gregory is an
excellent horseman and loyal
friend of the Sunshine Tour,
the show where he starts the
season. Last year, you probably had one of the
most successful years in your career so
far; winning the silver medal in the European Championships and taking the
victory in the Grand Prix at the Global
Champions Tour in Chantilly with Conrad
de Hus. What moment in 2015 do you remember with more emotion?
Of course Aachen was the best moment
of last year and maybe of all my career.
So many things come in your mind at that
moment but you also realise that you did
something fantastic. But I must say that
Barcelona was also special because it was
with the team..
You have ridden and produced many great
horses in your career, like Lantinus, Cortes “C”, Van de Broy, Forlap and your current horse, Conrad de Hus. What is the
key to taking all of these horses up to
the highest level?
First you have to find them, which may
be the most difficult part! Then, once you
have them and that you think that they
can be special, you have to produce them
and work them for many hours but giving
them all the time that they need. Finally you have to choose the best plan for
them.
How many horses are you thinking of competing at the Sunshine Tour this year? Are
you riding any young future talents?
What are your plans for 2016? Belgium
has unfortunately, not qualified for the
Olympic Games. Are you planning to participate individually? How will you prepare
this important season?
I will try to qualify as individual. Of course,
my preparation will start at the Sunshine
Tour as it has done every year for the last
11 years. Then I will move on to the big
international show in Miami at the beginning of April.
I am planning to bring 25 horses for me
and my rider. I hope that there are many
good, young talents!
What would be your highlight of the Sunshine Tour?

El jinete español rubricó una excelente temporada en 2015, participando
en la clasificación del equipo español
de Saltos para las Olimpiadas de Río
de Janeiro de 2016, disputando la final del Campeonato de Europa celebrado en Aachen y obteniendo unas
excelentes posiciones en numerosos
concursos disputados, entre ellos el
Circuito Hípico del Sol, en el que el
español logró disputar el desempate
del Invitational. Este año volverá a las
instalaciones hípicas de Dehesa Montenmedio para iniciar una nueva e intensa temporada.
¿Cuál es el balance de la pasada temporada, en la que sin duda ha vivido unos
momentos únicos como la clasificación
del equipo español para las Olimpiadas
de Río, un hito que no se consiguía desde
el 2000?
Estoy muy contento, a sido un año muy
bueno y conseguimos uno de nuestros
principales objetivos.
This Spanish rider started off an excellent season in 2015, taking part in
the qualifying rounds in the Spanish
team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de
Janeiro. He went on to compete in the
final of the European Championships
at Aachen. His season included a number of good placings over numerous
competitions throughout the year, including many during the Sunshine Tour
where he got through to the jump off
in the Invitational class.
Once again, this year, he will start off
his new and intense season at Dehesa
Montenmedio.
How would you sum up last season? It
was certainly unique especially when
Spain classified for the Olympics in Rio, a
milestone not achieved since 2000.
I am very happy to, have had a very good
year and one in which we have achieved
one of our main objectives in qualifying for
Rio.

In addition to the games, we will try to
move up the CN (Nations Cup) league.

The 2015 season was a long one for him.
Esta muy bien, 2015 a sido un año largo
para èl, y ahora descansara un poco para
intentar tenerlo en la mejor forma posible
para verano.
Usted es un asiduo del Circuito Hípico del
Sol, ¿qué es lo que tiene de especial este
concurso?
Por sus instalaciones y nivel de competicion es para mi de los mejores sitios para
preparar caballos y que cojan experiencia.
¿Cuántos caballos saltará este año en
Montenmedio? ¿Competirá también con
caballos jóvenes?
En principio llevo 10 caballos, saltare alguno en caballos jóvenes.
He is now resting and recuperating so he
will be in the best possible shape for the
summer.
You are a regular competitor at the Sunshine Tour, what is so special about this
contest for you?
The excellent facilities and high international level of competition makes it the best
place to prepare my horses and expand
our experience.

La Dehesa Montenmedio acogió en octubre de 2015
la segunda edición de la Semana Hípica Andaluza, una
iniciativa para albergar en nuestras instalaciones durante
una única semana de competición tres campeonatos de
Andalucía en las disciplinas de salto, doma y completo.
Un reto en el que ha jugado un papel fundamental la
disponibilidad de unas instalaciones multifuncionales capaces de albergar varias competiciones de forma simultánea y que permitan disputar tanto pruebas en pistas
de tierra y de hierba, como campo a través. Unas condiciones que solo ofrece Dehesa Montenmedio, gracias a
las magníficas instalaciones del Circuito Hípico del Sol y
al enclave privilegiado en el que se encuentra, en plano
Parque Natural Bahía de Cádiz.
Unos 350 caballos participaron en una iniciativa que surge con el objetivo de dar la oportunidad a los jinetes
andaluces de competir al más alto nivel en su región y
de participar en disciplinas más minoritarias en este entorno. Al mismo tiempo se permite a jinetes nacionales
e internacionales formar parte de este acontecimiento
único en su esencia, ya que es harto complicado encontrar una competición en la que se den cita disciplinas tan
dispares.
Una experiencia única de la que el Circuito Hípico del
Sol se siente muy satisfecho.Trabajar para hacer aún más
grande la hípica andaluza es uno de los objetivos del
equipo del Circuito Hípico del Sol y un evento de esta
envergadura ha supuesto un importantísimo paso en
esta dirección.

Dehesa Montenmedio hosted the second edition of
the Andalusian Equestrian Week, an initiative developed to have the three andalusian championships
of jumping, dressage and cross country at the same
time in only one weekend and in the same place.
The availability of the multifunctional facilities of
Montenmedio made it possible thanks to the fantastic facilities of Sunshine Tour, located in a privileged
setting in the Natural Park of Bahía de Cádiz.
350 horses competed in this edition, which aims to
give mainly Andalusian riders a chance to compete at a top national level without having to travel
far, and to replace the many smaller events in the
region. However, other national and international riders are also welcome at this unique event because
it is really difficult to find a competition where different disciplines are taking place at the same time.
It was a grateful experience and the Sunshine Tour
Team feel satisfied about it. One of the main objectives of the Sunshine Tour team is to develop horse
riding in Andalusia, and an event of this scale has
been an important step in this direction. Circuito Hípico del Sol 2016

Los mejores jinetes andaluces demostraron
el excelente estado de forma en el que se
encuentra la disciplina en la región en el
Campeonato de Andalucía de Saltos disputados del 23 al 25 de octubre en las instalaciones hípicas de Dehesa Montenmedio.
Jumping Andalusia Championship has been
disputed from 23rd to 25th October in the
equestrian facilities of Dehesa Montenmedio. Best riders of Andalusia showed an excellent shape related to this discipline in the
region.
Durante tres jornadas compitieron a un alto
nivel de exigencia demostrando los avances
alcanzados a lo largo de toda la temporada
tanto en las categorías superiores como en
las inferiores, donde quedó patente la calidad de los más jóvenes jinetes y el potencial
de algunas de estas jóvenes promesas. El espectáculo y la competitividad estuvo además avalada por los diseños de los recorridos, a cargo del diseñador Ignacio Álvarez
Gaviria ayudado por Marcos Núñez. During three journeys, they have competed in a high level letting clear the progress
achieved in the entire season in high and
low categories, where the quality and potential of the younger riders was evident.
The performance and competitively was
supported by the courses design, made by
Ignacio Álvarez Gaviria and with the help of
Marcos Núñez. En la categoría de Adultos, José González
Pastor se convirtió en el nuevo Campeón
de Andalucía de Saltos de Obstáculos 2015,
al vencer en una vibrante final montando
a Lubrican de Westfalia. Borja FernándezTubau con Zandocán Z fue plata y Carlos
Bosch con Pericles, bronce.
In adult category, José González Pastor was
the new winner of Jumping Andalusia Championship 2015, getting the victory while riding Lubrican de Westfalia in a vibrant final.
The silver medal was for Borja FernándezTubau with Zandocán Z was and bronze for
Carlos Bosch with Pericles.

Son solo algunos nombres de los muchos
que brillaron en esta magnífica competición
en la que participantes de las categorías
entre alevines e Intermedia I compitieron
intensamente para completar sus reprises
de forma brillante durante las dos jornadas
de competición. A la belleza y elegancia de
las Kürs disputadas por las categorías superiores durante la jornada dominical, se
sumó el esfuerzo y la clase de los más pequeños para demostrar el excelente estado
de salud de la que goza esta disciplina en la
región. Para ello contaron con el calor de
numeroso público que se congregó en las
instalaciones hípicas para disfrutar de tan
bello espectáculo.

Tres intensos días de competición en un entorno único e inmejorable concluyeron con
la victoria del conjunto formado por Antonio Javier Cano y Onyx de la Laissac 34 en
el Campeonato de Andalucía de Completo
en la categoría máxima, Adultos 1*.
Francisco Gaviño con España; Evelyn Lahuerta con Ray of Light y Alfonso Bilbao con Sea
Yan fueron Oro en Juveniles 0*, Infantiles
y Alevines respectivamente. Todos ellos lograron imponerse a sus competidores tras
las tres pruebas disputadas en las instalaciones hípicas de Dehesa Montenmedio.

Alevines respectively. All of them got to be
the winners after the three tests disputed
in the equestrian facilities of Dehesa Montenmedio.
La competición arrancó el viernes 23 de
octubre con la reprise de Doma Clásica,
continuó el sábado 24 con un espectacular
trazado en el entorno natural con la prueba
de Cross y concluyó con la decisiva prueba de Saltos celebrada el domingo. Unas
jornadas muy intensas en las que todos los
jinetes de esta categoría tan multidisciplinar
compaginaron sus habilidades para tratar
de alcanzar las posiciones de honor.
Competition started last 23rd October
with the Classic Dressage reprise. On 24th
October, it continued with the Cross test, a
spectacular design in the natural area and
it concluded with the litmus test of jumps
celebrated on Sunday. All riders tried to
combine their abilities to try to achieve the
honour positions in these intense journeys.

Driving Competition
This Spring, Dehesa Montenmedio hosted the
“Copa Ibérica de enganches,” the most important
international horse driving event in Spain.
It is the most important international competition
in this discipline that will take place in Spain. It consists of three intense days of competition between
the best drivers of the Iberian Peninsula, with Spain
and Portugal taking turns to stage the final of this
prestigious event.
There are three classes in this discipline: singles,
they are just pulled by one horse and are very fast;
pairs, where two horses are working together; and
four in hand, a spectacular show where four horses
work together over the obstacles of the course,
that makes this discipline one of the most striking
and attractive of the entire equestrian world.
Ponies may also participate in the three categories.

The horse carts must complete a different test
each day. The first is a dressage test; the second, a
marathon in the woods, and the third day, handling
or cones. To succed in the Copa Ibérica, competitors must apply a large dose of dexterity and skill.

pueblo de Zahara abre paso a las playas de Pajares y el Botero, idóneas para
submarinismo, modalidades de surf, senderismo.
Dunas, marismas y salinas arriban a Barbate. El río nos lleva al Paseo Marítimo, a
la Playa del Carmen, muy segura y prácticamente fundida con el caso urbano.
El Puerto de la Albufera da paso a la
playa de la Hierbabuena, donde tierra y
mar se funden en Parque Natural, acantilado y siglos de historia. Por orillas y
parajes llegamos a Los Caños de Meca.
Cadenas de dunas nos llevan a Zahora
y hasta el Tómbolo de Trafalgar.
Barbate; déjate llevar. Quédate y verás.
El litoral barbateño ofrece un amplio
abanico de actividades de ocio, atrayendo especialmente su riqueza y variedad
de flora y fauna.
Navega en vela desde Zahara hasta el

El Puerto de la Albufera, aúna tradición

Senderismo, ciclismo y rutas a caballo

Las Marismas del Río Barbate son una
zona húmeda poblada de aves migratorias y gran variedad de especies marinas.
Su cauce es idóneo para el piragüismo,
llegando hasta la Playa del Carmen.
Barbate, fuente de salud.
Barbate conserva un laborioso y milenario arte de pesca dedicado a la captura
del atún: La Almadraba.
Desde el siglo V a. C. se conoce en Atenas el garum, relacionado con la pesca,
el comercio y las salazones. Esta técnica
pesquera, heredada por fenicios, romanos y árabes, llega a su esplendor a finales del s. XIX con la familia Romeu. En
1928 se establece un consorcio entre el
Estado y los almadraberos, que desapareció en 1971.
El Estrecho es lugar de paso obligado
para esta codiciada especie capturada
entre dos líneas de redes colocadas por
varias embarcaciones, lo que crea un
“pasillo” que lleva el atún hasta el copo,
desde donde se suben a bordo en la característica “levantá”, un impresionante
espectáculo.

Las Marismas del Río Barbate (coastal
marshes of the Barbate River) are wetlands populated by migratory birds and
a wide variety of plant and marine life.
The river leads down to the Carmen
Beach and is an ideal spot for kayaking.

Barbate preserves a painstaking, centuries-old tuna-fishing tradition called the
Almadraba. As early as the 5th Century,
garum - a fish paste derived from the
fishing trade and salting business - was
known in Athens. This fishing technique
inherited from the Phoenicians, Romans
and Moors, had its heyday at the end
of the 19th Century with the Romeu
family. In 1928, a consortium was established between the State and the almadraba fishermen that later disappeared
in 1971.
The Strait of Gibraltar is a necessary
waypoint for this prized species of tuna
which is captured using lines of nets set
by a number of different boats to create a pasaje that funnels the tuna up to
the surface where they are brought on
board in the characteristic “levantá” (raising), an impressive spectacle.
