Fr. Dan
re you a Martha or a Mary? That question is a funny one that people ask if you are do-er or a
contemplate-er. It really does not reflect a personality type although some people might identify
with one of the two. What it does reflect might be—are you a busy worrier or a peaceful exister?
Jesus is abundantly clear that He does not want us to worry, His kingdom is not a reign of chaos.
His kingdom is found in being faithful, and doing His works. We can do that with a minimum of
worry, and lots of work. The work of listening to Jesus was not a do-nothing task for Mary. It is
often easier to work than to listen. Mary listened and then knew what Jesus wanted her to do. She was not just sitting
there at the end of the night. Jesus put on her heart the mission and call He had for
her. Perhaps the next time you get busy with all the things you have to do you can
stop and pray for guidance in all that, and then get to work!

Grief to Grace Healing Retreat
for Survivors of Abuse & Trauma
This five day psychological and spiritual journey provides
safety, support and healing for anyone who has suffered
degradation or violation through physical, emotional, or
sexual abuse or neglect. This retreat is appropriate for
adults who have endured rape, incest, abortion, or other
forms of traumatic violation in childhood, adolescence, or
as an adult. It is also suitable for those who have suffered
abuse by a member of the clergy.

¿Es usted una Martha o una María? Esa pregunta es
graciosa porque la gente se pregunta si es hacedor o
un contemplador. Realmente no refleja un tipo de
personalidad, aunque algunas personas pueden
identificarse con una de los dos. Lo que refleja podría ser – Eres un
angustiado ocupado o un existir pacífico. Jesús es muy claro que él
no quiere que nos preocupemos, su reino no es un reino del caos.
Su reino se encuentra en ser fiel, y haciendo sus obras. Si podemos
hacer eso con un mínimo de preocupación, y mucho trabajo. El
trabajo de escuchar a Jesús no fue una tarea de María de hacer nada.
A menudo es más fácil trabajar que escuchar. María escuchó y luego
supo lo que Jesús quería que hiciera. Ella no estuvo allí sentada hasta
el final de la noche. Jesús puso en su corazón la misión y el llamado
que tenía para ella. Tal vez la próxima vez que esté ocupado con
todas las cosas que tiene que hacer pueda detenerse a orar, para ser
guiado en todo lo que tiene que hacer,
y luego regresar a trabajar!

El Rito De Iniciación Cristiana De Adultos,
más conocido como RICA, es el proceso en el cual

través del BAUTISMO. El programa RICA está
también diseñado para los católicos que no han
recibido los Sacramentos de la Confirmación y la
Comunión y que les gustaría conocer más de su fe.
