Union Issues Appeal for Understanding Regarding
Inclusive Ministerial Ordination
At its September 26 meeting, the Columbia Union Conference Executive Committee voted to
submit the following statement to General Conference leadership in response to their
statements released after the union’s July 29 special constituency vote to ordain pastors to the
gospel ministry without regard to gender:
Columbia Union Conference Official Statement:
We acknowledge the concerns and questions our recent special constituency vote raised
among some of our church family and administrators and regret that some misunderstood our
motives and intentions. We unwaveringly stand in solidarity with our worldwide church family in
faith, belief, doctrine and mission and appeal for understanding.
We were compelled to act on our conscience and convictions because we believe it will and
already is having a positive impact on our churches, ministries and mission; we believe it is
morally and ethically right; we believe that God calls whom He chooses and our responsibility
and privilege is to fully recognize His proven calls; we want to see new generations of members
unabashedly engage in the mission of our church; and we want to do all we can to hasten the
promised return of Christ.

Sligo Church Celebrates First Ordination of a
Female Pastor
Last Sabbath Debbie Eisele
became the first female pastor
to be ordained in the Columbia
Union Conference. Eisele has
ministered at Potomac
Conference’s Sligo church in
Takoma Park, Md., for the past
11.5 years. Before coming to
Sligo, Eisele spent some 20
years in lay ministry while living
abroad with her family as a
missionary; however, her
ordination was something
special. “It felt so good to be
affirmed,” she said. “When I got
up from the ordination prayer
and saw all our beautiful elders—from all over the world—standing there in support, I thought,
‘If this isn’t unity, I don’t know what is.’”
Eisele studied at Andrews University (Mich.), attended the seminary at Schloss Bogenhofen in
Austria, where she met her husband, Herbert, and completed a master’s degree in Youth

Union Welcomes Six New Academy Principals
This school year saw the Columbia Union
Conference welcome six new secondary
school principals. The union is home to nine
academies. “This is the largest transition in
academy principals we’ve had in 20 years,”
said Ham Canosa, EdD, the union’s vice
president for education, who is pictured with
Carla Thrower, the new principal at Takoma
Academy (TA) in Takoma Park, Md. “Our
union is generally known for our stability in leadership. Still we are genuinely excited to
welcome new people of diverse backgrounds who can infuse the K-to-12 curriculum with new
perspectives.”
Thrower, a first-time principal who comes with 20 years of experience in the public school
system, has a son who graduated from TA. She says, “I get a warm feeling just coming through
the doors, so when God made it possible for me to be here, I couldn’t say, ‘No!’”—Story by

How God Led a Young Pastor to Reach Hispanics

It was a cold day at the beach in Ocean City,
Md., and 29-year-old Walter Cardenas was a
long way from home. He was attending
Potomac Conference’s annual Hispanic
Ministries Discipleship Conference, which
attracts thousands of Hispanic Seventh-day
Adventists from across the Columbia Union
and beyond. While the Potomac Conference
leads the union in Hispanic members,
Cardenas is working in the Mountain View
Conference to establish Spanish-language churches in the foothills of West Virginia.
One of his challenges is location. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, there are only 22,268
Hispanics in West Virginia. That makes them a mere 1.2 percent of the state’s 1.85 million
populace.
Cardenas has worked hard to establish groups of new believers, only to see the numbers
evaporate. It may seem disheartening in a catch-22 sort of way, but for Cardenas, it shows the
power of the Lord to change hearts and minds.—Story by Taashi Rowe

New Jersey Conference Couple Celebrates 50 Years of
Marriage
Evalina and Ronald Weeks recently
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at
New Jersey Conference’s Collingwood Park
church in Tinton Falls. They were married on
June 22, 1962, in Germany. The couple is
blessed with six daughters, 20 grand children
and eight great-grandchildren. The church
experienced a one-of-a-kind vespers during which the couple renewed their vows. Amoy
Chang, the church’s hospitality leader, prepared a special reception for the enjoyment of

family and friends.
“We praise God for the beautiful and concrete example of love given by Brother and Sister
Weeks to our church family,” said Sadrail Saint-Ulysse, conference superintendent and
Collingwood Park pastor. On behalf of the church, Enoc Bouzy, co-leader for the church’s
Family Life ministry, congratulated the proud couple and presented them with a gift.
Brinklow Member Named CEO of Howard University Hospital
Herbert C. Buchanan Jr., a member of Allegheny
East’s Emmanuel-Brinklow church in Ashton, Md.,
was named CEO of Howard University Hospital in
Washington, D.C. The appointment is effective
October 1. He served for the past seven years as the
chief operating officer at the University of Maryland
Medical Center in Baltimore. Previously, he was vice
president for operations at Northwestern Memorial
Hospital in Chicago. He has served on the faculty at
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and Oakwood
University in Huntsville (Ala.).

Kettering College Eclipses Enrollment Record
Again
With a total of 981 students enrolled for fall
semester, Kettering College has posted its
highest opening enrollment in the 45-year
history of the school. The number eclipses the
previous high of 938 that was set at the start of
the 2011-12 school year. This is the fifth
consecutive year that the college has topped
its previous best opening enrollment numbers.
According to the school’s final opening report,
563 full-time and 418 part-time (three-quartertime or less) students registered for fall classes, for an overall count that was 43 more than in
2011.
“In general, this enrollment record can be attributed to the good standing that Kettering College
enjoys in the Miami Valley,” said Victor Brown, dean for enrollment management and student
affairs. Kettering College is one of two Seventh-day Adventist institutions of higher learning in

Welcome
On the first day of school, Allegheny West

Conference’s Columbus Adventist Academy (CAA) in Columbus, Ohio, literally rolled out the
red carpet for its students and parents. While parents dropped off their children, eighth-graders
greeted them as they walked through the entrance on a red carpet, colorfully lined with
balloons. CAA teachers and staff also gave the youngsters the royal treatment by applauding,
cheering and hugging them.
“The parents and children were so taken aback; several stated how they felt loved, wanted and
appreciated,” said Brenda Arthurs, principal. “Some even posted what happened on Facebook.”
Arthurs said she really wanted each student to feel extra special this year. “We thought it would
be great to celebrate our own,” she explained.—Story by Allegheny West Conference Staff

The October Visitor features Tara VinCross,
the only female senior pastor of a large
congregation in the Pennsylvania Conference.
In just four years, God has used her to recruit
about 100 budding evangelists who have
witnessed at more than 245,000 homes in the
fifth largest city in the United States. But as
extraordinary as she may seem, VinCross is
quick to point upward and, after quick
observation, it’s obvious these ministries are
grounded in humble, yet determined aspiration

October 6: “Thou Art the Man” is the theme for the 2012 Maryland Men of Faith Conference
at Mount Aetna Retreat Center in Hagerstown, Md. Justin Kim, director of Public Campus
Ministries for the Michigan Conference, will explore the topics of accountability and
responsibility through the study of 2 Samuel 12:7. Seminars on addiction, end time events,
spiritual health and a Christian home, and programming for youth (ages 14-19) round out the

October 6: Protecting Marriage: What is the Christian’s Role? The Spencerville church in
Silver Spring, Md., will host a special Sabbath series dedicated to exploring the biblical, social
and religious liberty issues around the attempt to change the definition of marriage in Maryland.
Special speakers will include Adventist Review editor and Spencerville member, Bill Knott; Roy
Gane, a professor of Old Testament from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at
Andrews University (Mich.); and Nicholas Miller, an attorney as well as professor of church
history, also from the Seminary. Gane and Miller co-edited the recently released
book Homosexuality, Marriage, and the Church, which explores the question of how the
Christian should relate to issues of sexuality, marriage and the law. Presentations will be given
on these and related topics during the divine worship hour, and in the afternoon at a panel
discussion beginning at 2 p.m. Claudio Consuegra, director of the North American Division

Family Ministries Department, will also join the afternoon discussion panel. For more

October 8: Renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson will headline the
Adventist HealthCare Center on Health Disparities Annual Conference. Dr. Carson will
speak at 11 a.m. at the conference and his talk is titled “Starting at the Top: Achieving Health
Equity Through Executive Leadership.” The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at

October 5: In November, Marylanders could vote to legalize same-sex marriages. How
should we handle it in the church? Come out for a thought-provoking, interactive discussion of
this “taboo topic.” Guest panelists include Nicolas Miller, lead editor of the book Homosexuality,
Marriage and the Church, Pastor Paul Graham and Kesslyn Brade-Stennis, PhD, MSW, MDiv.

viewing of the documentary Seventh-Gay Adventist, followed by praise and worship at 7:45

We acknowledge the concerns and questions our recent special constituency vote raised among
some of our church family and administrators and regret that some misunderstood our motives

belief, doctrine and mission and appeal for understanding.

We accept, respect and understand that practicing inclusive ministerial ordination would not work
well in all parts of the world, and while we in no way wish to force others to take this step, we
believe it is necessary in our field and in the context of the culture in which we minister.

We pray that our action will not close doors, but open the way for the Holy Spirit to continue
moving mightily in our union and beyond. We pray that those who may not be ready to embrace
this change in their church, conference, union or division will understand our need and the
opportunity it provides us to grow God’s kingdom in our part of the vineyard. And we pray that we
all will earnestly seek to navigate these uncharted waters in a way that brings glory to God,
strengthens our church family and advances Christ’s mission.

Nous reconnaissons les soucis et questions que le vote de notre Spéciale Circonscription a
suscité parmi certains membres de la famille de nos églises et de nos administrateurs et nous
regrettons que nos motifs et nos intentions soient mal compris. Nous demeurons fermement
solidaires avec la famille de l’église mondiale dans la foi, croyance, doctrine et mission et lançons
un appel à la compréhension.

Nous prions que notre action ne fermera les portes, mais frayera la route pour que le Saint
Esprit continue à œuvrer puissamment au sein de notre union et au-delà. Nous prions que ceux
qui ne sont pas prêts à embrasser ce changement dans leur église, conférence, union ou
division comprendra notre besoin et l’opportunité qu’il nous offre de d’agrandir le royaume de
Dieu dans notre sphère d’action. Et nous prions que tout un chacun s’efforcera en toute
sincérité de naviguer ces eaux non encore explorées de telle manière qu’il en résulte la gloire de
Dieu, la fortification de notre église et serve à l’avancement de la mission de Christ.

Reconocemos las preocupaciones y las preguntas surgidas en algunos de los administradores y
miembros de nuestra familia de iglesia por el voto de nuestra reciente reunión de constituyente y
lamentamos que algunos hayan malentendido nuestra motivación y nuestras intenciones. Sin
vacilar, nos mantenemos solidarios con nuestra familia mundial en la fe, doctrina y misión y
hacemos un llamado a su comprensión.

Fuimos movidos a actuar de acuerdo a nuestra conciencia y convicciones porque creemos que
tendrá y está teniendo ya un impacto positivo en nuestras iglesias, ministerios y en nuestra
misión. Creemos que es moral y éticamente correcto. Creemos que Dios llama a quienes Él
escoge y que es nuestra responsabilidad y privilegio reconocer plenamente a quienes prueban
haber sido llamados. Queremos ver nuevas generaciones de miembros que sin reparos se
comprometan con la misión de la iglesia y queremos hacer todo lo que sea posible para
apresurar el retorno de Cristo.

que aquellos que todavía no están listos para abrazar este cambio en su iglesia, en su
Asociación, Unión o División puedan comprender nuestra necesidad y la oportunidad que nos
brinda de extender el reino de Dios en nuestra parte de la viña. Oramos también para que todos,
de todo corazón, busquemos navegar en estas aguas aún desconocidas de una manera en la
que glorifiquemos a Dios, fortalezcamos nuestra familia de iglesia y hagamos avanzar la misión
de Cristo.

Potomac Celebrates Two Ordinations, Sept. 29

"This is what you call a high Sabbath, and is truly the reason as to why we
exist – to grow healthy, disciple making churches," stated Bill Miller,
President of the Potomac Conference, upon the completion of not one, but
two ordination services held Sept. 29. Elder Dave Weigley, President of
the Columbia Union, added, "This is a special day, not simply for what this
ordination means to you, but what it means to all those who will be
blessed by your ministry."
The Potomac Conference gathered on two separate occasions to celebrate the ordinations of Eliasib Fajardo
and Debbie Eisele, the newest members of Potomac's pastoral team.

Pastor Eliasib Fajardo was born in Baja California, Mexico on March 1, 1978. While his parents worked as
missionary teachers, Fajardo was raised in Guadalajara and baptized at the age of 11. Upon his high school
graduation, Eliasib surprised his family by announcing he would continue his education on Theology. He had
never expressed the desire to pursue a career as a pastor, but said he felt Jesus calling him.

After taking a week of Theology classes at a university, the admission committee denied Eliasib's admission
request, saying he was too young and didn't look like a pastor. Fajoardo began attending the Washington
Spanish Church, while he waited to reapply to school the following year. While there, his passion of serving
young people grew and he helped to develop a guitar praise group for youth.
In 1996, he returned to Mexico and studied Theology. He continued working with young people as a youth
ministries director on campus. Eliasib graduated with a Bachelor of Theology from Montemorelos University
in 2001, and started working with nine churches as an assoiate pastor in Guadalajara. One year later, God
called him back to Potomac's Washington Spanish Church as an associate youth pastor.

Eliasib married Yerusi Hernandez, whom he had met at Montemorelos University, in 2004. Soon after, he
became the Senior Pastor for Beltsville Maranatha Spanish and later Oxen Hill Spanish Church.

In 2009, Fajardo obtained his Masters in Divinity at Andrews University. That year brought a special
blessing, as his first son Jeriel, was born. In 2011, a little girl named Jereli Adali was added to the family, and
now they are expecting their third baby, Adriel.
Fajardo came back to the Potomac Conference to work with the Arlington Spanish, Metro Northern Virginia
Spanish and Sterling Spanish and currently serves as a Hispanic Youth Coordinator.
Pastor Fajardo is thankful to God for the opportunity to be a minster. The desire o his heart is to reflect Christ
to his family, church members and youth so others can become friends of the only one who never fails and
will soon come for us all.
Debbie Eisele is grateful for the opportunity she has been given to minister to the Sligo Church family over
the past 11 years. This congregation has truly become a family to her. Debbie's first entry into Sligo church
life was in 1963. She attended Sligo Adventist School and was baptized at the church in 1964.
Fast forward through the next half-century to see Debbie's life unfold in studies at Andrews University and
then Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen in Austria, where she met her husband Herbert. They began married life
as student missionaries in Liberia and then moved to Vienna, Austria, where their children, Ilse and Marcel
were born.
When Debbie and her family moved to the South Pacific, she immersed herself in volunteer youth ministry in
Australia, Papua New Guinea and Fiji. Because she found this work so satisfying she completed a Masters
degree in youth ministry from La Sierra University. Unity in diversity and the creativity for ministry I
engenders is what attracted Debbie back, full circle, to Sligo in 2001.

censo de población del 2010, West Virginia es el estado con menos población hispana del
país. Para ajuste de cuentas, algunos de esos miembros son más bien temporales.
“No hay tantos hispanos aquí, así que es un tanto difícil el determinar un lugar en dónde
empezar un ministerio", dice Víctor Zill, tesorero y secretario ejecutivo de Mountain View
Conference. “Usualmente no tenemos suficientes hispano hablantes concentrados en un
área para iniciar una iglesia independiente. Pero aun así creemos que es importante tener
la capacidad de testificar ante la comunidad hispana de alguna manera”.
Cárdenas ha trabajado duro para establecer grupos de nuevos creyentes, solamente para
verlos evaporarse después de una de estas dos cosas: redadas de inmigración o que los
nuevos creyentes que se encuentran en el país ilegalmente llegan a la convicción de que
esto va en contra de sus nuevas creencias y regresan a sus países. Puede parecer un
tanto desalentador que no se gana de una ni de otra manera, pero para Cárdenas, esta
es una muestra del poder del Señor para cambiar mentes y corazones. Él sabe esto de
primera mano, porque ha visto a Dios intervenir en su vida de muchas maneras y en
múltiples ocasiones.
Si no fuera por la persistente dirección de Dios, Cárdenas pudo no haber estado en esa
convención en enero. Si él no hubiera prestado atención al llamado de Dios, este
Adventista del Séptimo Día de cuarta generación no se hubiera hecho pastor, no hubiera
sido el coordinador de los ministerios hispanos de la Asociación y no hubiera traído a
Ocean City a quince personas que están trabajando en establecer grupos de adoración
por toda Mountain View Conference.
Bebiendo, fumando y transportando drogas
“Yo nací en un hospital adventista”, recuerda Cárdenas. “Mientras crecía yo decía que
sería pastor. Pero cuando cumplí catorce años de edad, tomé la decisión de abandonar la
iglesia para poder salir e ir a fiestas con mis amigos, la mayoría de los cuales eran
miembros de pandillas en Alexandria, Va”.
Cárdenas llegó a quedar atrapado en las bebidas alcohólicas, el tabaquismo y el
transporte de drogas para sus amigos de pandilla, hasta a involucrarse en peleas con
otras pandillas. “El Señor salvó mi vida muchas veces", comenta Cárdenas con su voz
cargada de emoción. "Mientras oraba recientemente, el Señor me recordó que Él ha
intervenido en salvar mi vida en más de treinta oportunidades. A la edad de veintiún
años, Él me empezó a llamar para que volviera a Él".
Lo que Cárdenas no se había dado cuenta en ese entonces, era que el Señor también lo
estaba llamando al ministerio. Él se unió a iglesia Alexandria (Va.) Spanish de Potomac
Conference y juntamente con su prometida ayudaron como líderes del ministerio juvenil.
En el año 2003 el Señor le habló a través de un sermón. Al final del mismo se hizo un
llamado, pero no era un llamado solamente para aquellos que querían entregar su vida a
Dios, sino para aquellos que quisieran ministrar para el Señor.
La prometida de Cárdenas dejó bien claro que ella no fue llamada a ser la esposa de un
pastor. Entonces él se dirigió a Dios y oró: “No creo que me estés llamando a ser un
pastor sin esta dama”. Nadie sabía que se encontraba luchando con esa decisión, así que
le pidió a Dios que le hablara por medio de otras personas.
Y Dios obró rápidamente. “Durante una semana de oración, yo invité a un presentador de
Puerto Rico. Se estaba quedando en mi casa y el martes se me acercó y me dijo: 'No sé
por qué te voy a decir esto, pero creo que tengo que decírtelo. ¿Te gustaría ir a Puerto
Rico?’. Y yo le dije: 'Sí, me gustaría ir allí de vacaciones'. Y él me dijo: 'No de vacaciones,
sino para ir a estudiar, porque creo que te debes hacer pastor'".
Atento al llamado de Dios
Dios siguió revelando su voluntad. Cárdenas tenía una copia de la biografía de un
evangelista en su colección por algún tiempo ya, hasta que por fin decidió leerla de tapa
a tapa. Cuando terminó de leer el libro, algo le inspiró a leer la portada. Adentro
encontró un mensaje escrito por la dama que le había obsequiado el libro. Ella decía: "Mi
familia y yo estamos orando para que te conviertas en un pastor".
Acto seguido, él se convirtió en el orador invitado del evento. El pastor lo presentó como

el "pastor Cárdenas". Cuando Cárdenas lo corrigió, el pastor repitió el error. Molesto,

Cárdenas le pidió que le explicara por qué hizo eso. El pastor le dijo: "Escucha, yo sé que
te vas a convertir en un pastor".

Él y su novia hicieron las invitaciones para la boda, aunque él todavía luchaba con la idea

mi ministerio. Alabo a Dios por su misericordia. Me salvó de tantas cosas para que yo
pueda servirle ahora. No porque yo merezca algo. Él está dispuesto a usarme aunque yo
haya cometido muchos errores en el pasado”.

La pastora Tara VinCross y su ejército de jóvenes cubren Filadelfia con el amor de Cristo

Uno podría decir que Tara VinCross se ha
convertido en una maestra del ministerio. En
solamente cuatro años Dios la ha usado para
reclutar a unos cien evangelistas en ciernes,
quienes ya han testificado en más de 245,000
hogares en la quinta ciudad más grande de
los Estados Unidos. VinCross y su ejército de
jóvenes obreros continúan cubriendo a
Filadelfia con el evangelio a través de dos
ministerios evangelísticos de la iglesia
Chestnut Hill: El desafío juvenil de Pensilvania
y REACH. ¿Su misión? Compartir el mensaje
de esperanza de Cristo con los que no lo
conocen.
Uno podría decir también que VinCross es un
tanto rara—una adulta joven que ministra
como la única pastora principal en una
congregación grande de la Pennsylvania
Conference. Pero por extraordinaria que
parezca, ella no duda en dar la gloria a Dios,
y luego de una rápida observación, es
evidente que esos ministerios están
cimentados en una humilde pero determinada
aspiración de cumplir con la gran comisión evangélica.

Desde que tomó la dirección de la iglesia Chestnut Hill, en el 2007, el objetivo principal
de VinCross ha sido el de proveer un "centro de influencia en donde las personas puedan
ponerse en contacto con el evangelio". Para lograr esto, ella ha reunido los talentos y la
energía de los jóvenes creyentes.
“Cuando los jóvenes toman la oportunidad de compartir a Jesús de una forma real y
tangible, es simplemente inspirador el escucharles decir: "Dios úsame", nos cuenta. Y ella
sabe, porque ella comparte su propia historia de amor con Cristo al enseñar a los jóvenes
evangelistas.
La atracción de Dios a un corazón joven
VinCross no fue criada en el adventismo del séptimo día, pero cuando llegó el momento

también parecía aburrida. Ella recuerda una vez cuando en su clase de Biblia se sintió

“Pronto se hizo evidente que Tara, aun siendo una joven adolescente, tenía una pasión
tal por Jesús y un corazón dispuesto para el evangelismo”, recuerda Tutsch, quien es
ahora una directora asociada del Patrimonio Elena de White en Silver Spring, Md. “Creo
que aquellos que son puestos en posiciones de responsabilidad están obligados a
reconocer los talentos de los jóvenes, y hacer todo lo que pueden para guiarlos y
brindarles oportunidades de liderazgo”.
VinCross pasó el verano haciendo evangelismo a través de literatura y dando seminarios
de Apocalipsis. Al seguir estudiando la Biblia, no pudo ignorar la obra de Dios.

Por medio del programa REACH, que empezó en abril del 2011, VinCross busca iniciar
iglesias comunitarias en las áreas metropolitanas de Filadelfia, para que gente pueda

White Oak Lane. Nick Snell, un pastor asistente de PYC e interno de tiempo completo de

Empezando el evangelismo en la casa
Aparte de sus programas de evangelismo para jóvenes, VinCross también supervisa más
de una docena de ministerios en la iglesia Chestnut Hill, ubicada en el distrito Center City
de Filadelfia. Una orden de Elena G. White para que los cristianos alcancen las ciudades
inició sus esfuerzos allí. VinCross dice que la forzó a dar un paso atrás y a observar su
congregación. “Desde 1948 que la membresía de la iglesia permanecía igual, hasta hace
tres años”, nos dice. “Nos estaba yendo muy bien en el mantenimiento de nuestra
membresía, pero realmente no habíamos visto nada de crecimiento de la manera en que
debíamos”.
VinCross le preguntó a su junta de iglesia: “¿Qué vamos a hacer para alcanzar a todas
esas personas que Dios puso en nuestra área?” Luego, los desafió diciendo: “Para hacer
un verdadero impacto, será necesario algo diferente de lo que hemos hecho… durante los

Por sobre todo, lo que inspira a VinCross a continuar en el ministerio es el “valiente

dice. Ella disfruta trabajar con aquellos que están comprometidos en llevar adelante la
misión, una cualidad que ella ve mayormente en sus incipientes evangelistas jóvenes.

October 6: Protecting Marriage: What is the Christian’s Role? The Spencerville church in
Silver Spring, Md., will host a special Sabbath series dedicated to exploring the biblical, social and
religious liberty issues around the attempt to change the definition of marriage in Maryland. The
event will be held in the Spencerville sanctuary. Special speakers will include Adventist
Review editor and Spencerville member, Bill Knott; Roy Gane, a professor of Old Testament from
the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University; and Nicholas Miller, an
attorney as well as professor of church history, also from the Seminary. Gane and Miller co-edited
the recently released book, Homosexuality, Marriage, and the Church, which explores the
question of how the Christian should relate to issues of sexuality, marriage and the law.
Presentations will be given on these and related topics during the divine worship hour, and in the
afternoon at a panel discussion beginning at 2 p.m. Claudio Consuegra, director of the North
American Division Family Ministries Department, will also join the afternoon discussion panel. For

October 8: Renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson will headline the Adventist
HealthCare Center on Health Disparities Annual Conference. Dr. Carson will speak at 11 a.m.
at the conference and his talk is titled, “Starting at the Top: Achieving Health Equity Through
