Introduzione al docente
New Inside Grammar si presta ad essere
adoperata in maniera flessibile dal livello post
beginner fino al livello upper intermediate,
corrispondenti ai livelli A1 a B2 del Common
Framework of Reference, è una grammatica
pratica, di facile consultazione rivolta
specificamente agli studenti italiani.
L’articolazione su tre livelli di difficoltà
Fondamenti (A1-A2) PET (A2-B1) e FCE (B2)
fornisce gli strumenti per affrontare sia il
Preliminary English Test che il First Certifi cate.
Ogni sezione contiene inizialmente delle unità
dedicate al PET a sfondo bianco che presentano
la grammatica di base fino ad un livello
intermediate – B1; successivamente ulteriori unità
dedicate a FCE, a sfondo rosso,
di approfondimento fino al livello upper
intermediate - B2.
Tale suddivisione permette l’utilizzo di tutta la
prima sezione B1/PET nel primo biennio della
scuola secondaria di secondo grado; mentre
l’utilizzo della sezione B2/FCE potrà avvenire
negli anni successivi.
Il sillabo grammaticale è stato ampliato con
la nuova sezione Fondamenti dove vengono
affrontate con cura tutte le funzioni linguistiche
di base. Inoltre, nella parte a sfondo bianco PET
sono stati inclusi come novità ulteriori argomenti
individuati come più complessi per gli studenti
italiani, in modo da coprire tutte le possibili
esigenze linguistiche comuni a questo livello.
Una nuova sezione di lessico illustrato è
inserita ed è concepita a partire dalla wordlist
specifica dell’esame PET. Gli argomenti lessicali
vengono presentati attraverso delle illustrazioni
per meglio registrarne il significato e seguiti
da esercizi di varia tipologia per mettere in pratica
e fissare l’apprendimento dei termini.
Le nuove spiegazioni grammaticali prestano
particolare importanza allo studente italiano
grazie ai molti esempi di grammatica contrastiva
che mettono in evidenza le differenze
e le similitudini fra le due lingue. Inoltre, una
nuova sezione Traduzione, focalizza l’attenzione
sulla traduzione dall’italiano all’inglese in modo
da prevenire gli errori più comuni fra gli studenti
italiani e sviluppare fin da subito un approccio
reale e contestualizzato della lingua stessa.
Per molti argomenti, individuati come tra i più
comunemente complessi da apprendere,
il testo propone delle mappe concettuali
che presentano in modo grafico e schematico
le informazioni. A seguito di continue ricerche,
abbiamo individuato come la sperimentazione
di vari stili di apprendimento, nel caso specifico
attraverso la memoria visiva, aiuti e stimoli
la concentrazione e lo studio da parte
degli studenti stessi.
I riepiloghi posizionati in maniera sistematica
all’interno del testo risulteranno utili e preziosi
durante la fase di ripasso di tutti gli argomenti
affrontati. In aggiunta a questo, inseriti a
conclusione di ogni sezione, esercizi sommativi
che ricapitolano sempre dall’inizio del libro,
supporteranno i docenti nella fase di fissaggio
delle strutture grammaticali e lessicali.
Le attività di ripasso sopra citate comprendono
anche esercizi per la preparazione degli esami
Cambridge ESOL PET e FCE.
La grammatica, inoltre fornisce un’abbondanza
di esercizi, molti dei quali particolarmente
attenti alle attività comunicative, personalizzate,
diversificate e organizzate per difficoltà crescente.
Pur non essendo scopo di questo libro preparare
lo studente esclusivamente ad una certificazione,
una copiosa quantità degli esercizi inclusi viene
impostata proprio secondo le tipologie tipiche
degli esami più conosciuti.
In particolare, molte attività forniscono una
specifica e attenta preparazione alle sentence
transformations-Part 6 di Reading and Writing
del Preliminary English Test (PET)- riproposte
a livello più alto in Use of English del First
Certifi cate in English (FCE). Tali prove
costituiscono l’elemento grammaticale più
problematico per la maggior parte degli studenti:
per questo motivo lo studente ha a disposizione
una esaustiva rubrica specifica dedicata
all’apprendimento delle tecniche necessarie
per un’ottima preparazione.
Anche per gli esami certificati Trinity, lo studente
troverà del materiale specifico e utile: rimandiamo
in particolare alla sezione dedicata alle funzioni
linguistiche, fondamentali per una produzione
orale dell’inglese efficace, colloquiale e reale.
