“This I command you: love one
another.” Note that in this direct quote
from today’s Gospel that the Lord does
not offer this as a suggestion nor as an
option. It is a command. He reinforces
this several times in Holy Scripture as
He offers it as one of the two most
important commandments.
If we make an effort to genuinely love one another, we will have gone a
long way to living out discipleship and stewardship.
It is appropriate on this Sixth Sunday of Easter when we celebrate
Mothers’ Day throughout the United States that our readings are filled
with the message of love. The love of a mother is one of the great
blessings anyone can receive. We should have no difficulty on this day
letting our mothers — in fact, all those women who have provided
support and forgiveness to us — know that we love them.
If loving one another is one of the hallmarks of stewardship as a way of
life, showing that love to our mothers, and for mothers, showing and
expressing their love to their children is paramount on this day. As
Christ said in today’s Gospel, “No one has greater love than this, to lay
down one’s love for one’s friends.” Mothers do that constantly,
sacrificing so much for their children. We are blessed; let the “mothers”
in our lives know that they are a blessing.

A cheerful giver does not count the cost of what
he gives. His heart is set on pleasing and
cheering the one to whom the gift is given.

It is good for us to spend time before the Tabernacle,

First Holy Communions
We congratulate all of our First Communicants from our English GIFT
Religious Education Program who received their First Holy Communion
Saturday April 25th 2015
REFLECTION
This Gospel reading teaches us a very
important lesson. It is sometimes
extremely hard to see the good in others
or find a way to love them depending on
how they might act or speak to us or
others. One of the most important things
for us as brothers and sisters of Christ to
do is love everyone we encounter as God
loves us. God loves us with an
unspeakable and unconditional love. It is
our job to pass that love on even if we
don't necessarily want to. Loving others
as God loves you is a huge lesson that
we can all learn and use to grow in
patience, kindness, and living a life for
Christ. Sophie, 17 -LIFETEEN

Oraciones y Peticiones
ORAR POR LOS ENFERMOS: Oremos
por todos aquellos que están enfermos.
Para que puedan sentir el poder sanador
de Dios a través de nuestras oraciones.
CONDOLENCIAS: Oremos
No deberíamos tener ninguna

¡FELICIDADES!
@Pontifex Mayo 5
@Pontifex Mayo 2

fiestas patronales. La procesión
simboliza, principalmente, el carácter
peregrinante de la Iglesia. También, a
veces, es un signo muy expresivo de
fe y devoción. Deben hacerse con
dignidad y respeto.
Próxima semana: Por que nos
INCLINAMOS en la misa?
