No es fácil encontrar una novela que aborde de manera
tan sincera, valiente y profunda un tema como el
abandono, el descuido y el desprecio sufrido por tantos
niños y jóvenes en Colombia, un país en el que la
soledad, el maltrato, la violencia y el dolor se acompañan
de la indiferencia y el desprecio cotidianos.
Es menos común que la aproximación a esta penosa
realidad alcance tal grado de sensibilidad y poesía como
las que se logran en No comas renacuajos. Francisco
Montaña Ibáñez recupera una imagen: un niño que
dispara y dispara con la pistola imaginaria que es su
mano. A partir de esto construye una historia donde
dos tiempos y espacios distintos se entrelazan para
ir descubriendo una tragedia y al mismo tiempo una
posibilidad.

courage and depth, subjects such as the abandonment,
neglect and rejection suffered by so many children and
young people in Colombia, a country in which loneliness,
abuse, violence and pain are accompanied daily by
indifference and denial.
It is less common that this shameful reality reaches the
