Original grupo de afrojazz que a través del instrumento típico de
Costa de Marfil, el balafón (una especie de marimba), recuperan sonidos ancestrales y contemporáneos para deleite del público.

FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE FOLKLORE DE ARONA
Grupos participantes: Escuela de folclore de Arona, Akud “Mirko Srzentic” (Montenegro) y Yacambú (Folklore Venezolano).
Nuestro municipio acoge este año una nueva Edición del Festival Internacional de Folclore de Arona. Después de varios años de ausencia, el Patronato de Cultura y la Escuela de Folclore de Arona asume
este encuentro al objeto de consolidarlo como un referente cultural.
El Festival Internacional de Folclore de Arona se celebrará durante
los días 27 al 30 de julio de 2016. Durante los mismos, habrán actuaciones y pasacalles de los grupos AKUD “MIRKO SRZENTIC” (Montenegro) YACAMBÚ (folclore venezolano) y la ESCUELA DE FOLCLORE
DE ARONA (Tenerife- Islas Canarias).

Our municipality hosts a new edition of the International Folklore
Festival of Arona this year. After several years of absence, the Board
of Culture and the School of Folklore Arona assumed this meeting in
order to consolidate its position as a cultural reference. The International Folklore Festival of Arona be held during the days 27 to 30
July 2016. During the same, there will be performances and parades
of Akud “MIRKO Srzentic” (Montenegro) Yacambú (Venezuelan folklore) and folklore groups SCHOOL Arona (Tenerife-Canary Islands).

CONCIERTO BENÉFICO FEEL SAHARA 2016
Dtproject Interpreta una obra que relata la invasión, el éxodo y situación
actual en los refugiados saharauis en Tinduf. Se podrán ver momentos
audiovisuales, intercalados con la interpretación musical, narrando situaciones totalmente conmovedoras, con la convicción de la vuelta a su
tierra a través de los relatos cotidianos de sus habitantes. Además de un
emocionante viaje. El que miles de niños saharauis realizan cada año a
España dentro del programa “Vacaciones en paz”. Una experiencia única
que mezcla arte y música para presentar un mensaje lleno de compromiso y solidaridad.
La totalidad de los beneficios de este concierto son para ACAPS (Asociación Canaria de amistad con el pueblo Saharaui) para cubrir los billetes
de los niños saharauis, que viajan como embajadores de su pueblo, durante los dos meses de verano al sur Tenerife, para recibir tratamientos
médicos y alimenticios que mejore sus condiciones de vida.

BENEFIT CONCERT FEEL SAHARA 2016
Interprets Dtproject a work that tells the invasion, the exodus and the
current situation in the Sahrawi refugees in Tindouf. You can see audiovisual moments, interspersed with musical performance, fully narrating
poignant situations, convinced of their land back through the everyday
stories of its inhabitants. In addition to an exciting journey. The thousands of Sahrawi children to Spain performed each year in the program
“Holidays in peace”. A unique experience that blends art and music to
present a full commitment and solidarity message.
The full benefits of this concert are for ACAPS (Canary Association of
friendship with the Saharawi people) to cover the bills Saharawi children,
traveling as ambassadors of their people during the two summer months
south Tenerife, to receive medical treatment and food to improve their
living conditions.

XIII MUMES 2016/ FESTIVAL DE
MÚSICA MESTIZAS
África, Canarias y América vuelven a unirse en el Festival de Músicas Mestizas y
+, MUMES, en una edición, la decimotercera, en la que habrá presencia de países
como Costa de Marfil, Jamaica, Gambia, Kenia y Tanzania, además de representación canaria. Este festival ha apostado desde su origen por la defensa de la
diversidad cultural y la tolerancia entre los pueblos.
En el apartado de Conciertos, los grupos Spyrow y Djarabikan Balafon, ganadores
de festival Vis a Vis, que organiza Casa África, celebrado el pasado mes de marzo
en Costa de Marfil, actuarán en MUMES el 8 y 10 de julio, respectivamente.
Además, MUMES desplegará, como es habitual, una amplia programación cultural que, en esta ocasión, estará compuesta por un taller de reciclaje donde se confeccionarán elementos de decoración y ambientación de paisajes africanos; una
exposición de fotoperiodismo titulada Jambo África, del reportero Daniel Millet,
sobre Gambia, Tanzania y Kenia, y la entrega de una nueva edición del Premio a la
labor a favor de la multiculturalidad al músico canario Rubén Díaz.

• Sesión Dj Sonidos de Bob Marley, a cargo de Dj Dab Maia (Canarias)
Dab Maia presentará en MUMES una sesión dedicada a la figura de Bob Marley, con sonidos de reggae mezclados al más
puro estilo de este Dj canario.

MUSIC MESTIZAS
Africa, the Canary Islands and America rejoin the Music Festival Mestizas and +,
MUMES, in an edition, the thirteenth, in which there will be presence of countries like Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Gambia, Kenya and Tanzania, in addition to Canary
representation . This festival has committed since its origin by the defense of
cultural diversity and tolerance among peoples.
In the section Concerts, the Spyrow and Djarabikan Balafon groups, winners of
festival Vis a Vis, organized by Casa África, held last March in Ivory Coast, will act
in MUMES 8 and July 10, respectively.
In addition, MUMES display, as usual, a wide cultural program, this time, will consist of a recycling workshop where elements of decor and ambience of African
landscapes will be drawn; an exhibition of photojournalism called Jambo Africa
reporter Daniel Millet, on Gambia, Tanzania and Kenya, and delivery of a new
edition of the Award for work in favor of multiculturalism canary musician Ruben
Diaz.
