Know the first frost date for your zone. For Phoenix it’s zone 8 and the estimated first frost date is November 18, 2009. Timing is everything in gardening and fall gardening success hinges on anticipating the first frost. 2. Decide what you want to grow and buy seeds or plants. 3. Calculate expected harvest dates before planting any seeds or plants to ensure weather conditions will allow for proper growth and optimal yields. 1. Sepa la fecha de la primera helada para su zona. Plant garlic, onions and shallots on the first frost date or when the first frost actually occurs for a summer harvest. 13. Harvest the garden crop throughout this time period. Lettuce is typically ready for harvest 50 to 60 days after planting and sequential planting will ensure you have a crop ready to pick 9. Mr. Valencia has been so influential and impactful that many of the residents voiced their support of park programs at budget public hearings held earlier this year.
