SUMMARY
S
ince 1997 Andrea Press
has been a publisher of
quality books in a number of
languages that have been the
subject of praise the world
over. The first books dealt with
aspects of modeling and were
a logical continuation of the
fact that Andrea Press was
an early daughter company of
Andrea Miniatures, well known
as a foremost manufacturer of
historical miniatures and models.
Eventually Andrea’s publishing
arm evolved into related fields of
interest: primarily military history
and collecting. This was a logical
evolution, as both subjects go
hand-in-hand with the process
of creating miniatures. Whatever
the reason, Andrea Press
has grown over fast the last
seventeen years and is now a
prestigious publishing company
in its own right. At Andrea
Press, books are regarded as
the best vehicle for accurate
and independent knowledge.
In the era of visual, mass
communication, where a picture
history
pages 4-22
is supposed to be worth more
than a thousand words, we
strive to develop a meaningful
balance between the two. Any
new book is a fascinating project
and one into which a lot of care
and love is poured in the sincere
hope our readers may enjoy a
solid, appealing product.

Deutsche Soldaten is a stunning visual history of the German soldier and provides a unique
reflection of how the men lived, ate, and kept themselves clean at the front, or behaved when
at rest, what were their pastimes, ambitions, worries and how they spent their leave, through
the collection of personal items and other artifacts they left behind.

In this new book on military collecting, the author presents the uniforms and equipment of the
Japanese infrantryman during the period 1931 to 1945.
It includes chapters about weapons, food, the personal effects of the “heitai” and many never
before seen historical images.

This book is primarily aimed at bringing the discerning reader a clear understanding of the aesthetic world evident in the uniforms and regalia of the so-called “Black Corps”. It is the result of
the combined efforts of Ulric of England and Andrea Press to publish an authoritative work on
the SS material culture by openly departing from any political or ethical approach, while focusing expressly on the aesthetic aspects shown in the uniforms and regalia of the Allgemeine SS
and their enigmatic magnetism.

he famous Gunfight at
the O.K. Corral is surely
a great example
of the decisive role played
by the movie industry
in building
up popular myths. Starting
with the John Ford’s
epic “My Darling
Clementine”, the subject
would be revisited by
many others films,
recreating the famous
feud between the law
and the outlaws, terms
that were vaguely defined
at the time. The O.K. Corral
shootout lasted
30 second and took place
at about 3:00 pm on October
26, 1881, in a
remote little mining town
in Arizona called Tombstone.

Even though many accounts
on this gunfight have
been written over
the years, the reasons
for the fight remain rather
foggy still today.
Basically, it was the result
of harsh enmity between
three brother
clans: the Earps backed
by Wyatt’s close friend
and admirer Doc
Holliday (the law), against
the Clantons and the McLaurys
(known at
the time as “the cowboys”).
