I hope to have an opportunity to get to know ALL our Groups & Ministries, but it will take me, so please be pa ent with me. As a pastor, I rely heavily on my Pastoral Staff and the Pastoral & Finance Councils. The Pastoral Council advises me on what I call "THE BIG PICTURE", that means they point out to me, BOTH the Tac cal/Short term NEEDS & the STRATEGIC/Long term NEEDS of OUR parish family. The Pastoral Staff advises me on how to take those tac cal & strategic NEEDS and turn them into Tac cal and Strategic GOALS that will help us meet those needs. The Finance Council is responsible for advising me in ways we can be fiscally & organiza onally sound, so we can THRIVE & meet our Tac cal & Strategic Goals, instead of merely trying to survive, month to month, year to year. Would you please add to your daily prayers: Our Pastoral Staff, Pastoral & Finance Councils? This year, the Church will celebrate Cateche cal Sunday on September 21, 2014, and will focus on the theme "Teaching About God's GiŌ of Forgiveness." Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Cateche cal Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Bap sm, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. AC ’ P Father of all families, you have called me to serve the family in truth and love as a catechist. May I be faithful to this call, rooted in your Word, and open to the gi s of the Holy Spirit. May I use these gi s, especially the gi s of faith, hope, and love, to serve the family as a witness to you, who are love and life and the source and des ny of all families. Let your Spirit enlighten my mind and strengthen my heart so that I can be a path of Christ’s love to families, especially those in need, the homebound and aged, the disabled and disheartened. Through the intercession of Mary and Joseph, I pray for the Church, the Bride of Christ, whose mission to build a civiliza on of love passes through the family. Amen.
