El pasado 11 de febrero concluyó la última edición de la
Stockholm Design Week. Con esta clausura, la Natural Collection
concluye una ajetreada gira de ferias. A pesar del tórrido frío, con
temperaturas de -15 Cº, la experiencia ha sido de lo más cálida,
pues Sancal estuvo acompañada por lzf-lamps y MH parquets.
Además de la excelente compañía, valoramos muy positivamente
nuestra primera participación en este certamen por ponernos
en contacto directo con el mercado escandinavo más receptivo.
Folk, Tab, Konoha, Soul y Tea hicieron las delicias del nutrido
número de arquitectos, interioristas y diseñadores que albergó la
Stockolmsmässan.
STOCKHOLM REPORT
On February 11th, the last edition of the Stockholm Design Week was
over. Thus, our Natural Collection finishes its voyage along various
exhibitions. In spite of the freezing weather, the Stockholm Design
Week made us feel warm and comfortable thanks to lzf-lamps and
MH parquets, who we exhibited with.
This first experience is greatly appreciated: It gave us the opportunity
to get in touch with and get to know the Scandinavian market, in
which we are highly interested. Folk, Tab, Konoha, Soul and Tea
delighted a large number of architects and designers who atended
the Stockolmsmässan.
LA NUEVA OLA:
La revista Wallpaper rindió un cálido homenaje al diseño español.
En una concurrida fiesta, con el lema “La nueva ola”, Londres dejó
atrás su tradicional niebla y se tiño de la luz y el color del talento
mediterráneo. El evento fue un completo éxito, y como ya viene
siendo habitual Tab fue uno de los responsables de tanto alboroto.
NEW WAVE
Wallpaper magazine paid a warm tribute to the Spanish design. In a
crowded party, with the motto “New wave”, London left behind the
traditional fog and was dyed with the light and colour of the Mediterranean talent. The event was a complete success, and as usual Tab
was one of those responsible for the fuss.

DÍAS PARA RECORDAR, MILÁN

Como cada año celebramos los frenéticos días pasados en Milán
y agradecemos todas las felicitaciones recibidas. El stand, proyectado por nuestros diseñadores de cabecera Rafa García y Juan
Ibáñez, ha sido todo un éxito. Con la misma filosofía de luces y
sobras seguida para el próximo catálogo de la Flash Collection, las
celosías dieron privacidad y misterio al tiempo que mostraban el
producto en un ambiente recogido.
Además del siempre deseado encuentro con nuestros clientes,
este año también tuvimos la visita de los diseñadores. En un
veraniego azul turquesa de los pies a la cabeza, Karim Rashid nos
firmó un autógrafo junto a unos de los sofás Float expuestos.
Rafa García, sentado en un Copla, nos explicó el porqué de tan
flamenca propuesta, mientras Juan Ibáñez consiguió equilibrar las
asimétricas Nudo. Luis Eslava por su parte, conquistó el suelo con
las versátiles almohadas de los sofás Party.
DAYS TO REMEMBER
As every year we celebrate the carzy days we had at Milan, and we
want to say thank you for the wonderful compliments. The stand,
designed in our design headquarters by Rafa García and Juan
Ibáñez had a great success. Following the same philosophy of
light and shadows proclaimed by the Flash Collection catalogue,
the lattices provided privacy and mystery while showed the new
products in a retreated atmosphere.
Besides the always appreciated visits of our customers, we had
a date with the designers. In a fresh turquoise blue suit, Karim
Rashid signed the wall where one of the Float sofas was exhibited. Seating in a green Copla, Rafa García explained why such a
“flamenco” design. Juan Ibáñez achieved to equilibrate the asymmetric Nudo tables and Luis Eslava conquered the floor with the
versatile cushions of Party sofas.

Lorena Sauras en las jornadas “Making of...” organizadas por la
fundación ADI FAD de Barcelona. El nuevo modular Party fue el
protagonista

Entre las miles de bombillas de Las Vegas y los cristalinos rascacielos de Nueva York, la Flash Collection se sintió como en casa
durante su gira americana. También volvieron a ser bien acogidos
Tea, Soul, Folk y Boomerang Chill.
Es la primera vez que Sancal expone en HD Las Vegas, una feria
especializada en el canal contract. Confiamos en que este ha sido
un buen comienzo para afianzar el mercado de la costa Oeste de
los Estados Unidos.
Durante ICFF Luis Eslava y Lorena Sauras visitaron nuestro stand y
saborearon la comodidad del nuevo sofá Party que han diseñado
para Sancal. Como en Nueva York la noche es joven y siempre hay
algo que hacer en la ciudad que nunca duerme, nos dejamos caer
por la fiesta que organizó nuestro distribuidor Karkula, por el sarao
de Karim Rashid y por el Pent House Dot 429.

Thousand of light bulbs in Las Vegas and the shining skyscrapers
of New York became a perfect environment for the Flash Collection. The new products felt at home during their American tour.
Also were welcome Tea, Soul, Folk and Boomerang Chill.
It is the first time the Sancal shows at HD Las Vegas, a very specialized trade fair for hospitality projects. We trust this is a great
commencement for the market in west coast of the US.
During ICFF Luis Eslava and Lorena Sauras visit our booth and
enjoy the comfort of Party, the brand new sofa they have developed for Sancal. It is true that New York never sleeps. We verified
it going from one event to another: from Karkula’s showroom to
Karim Rashid’s party and the Pent House Dot 429.

Sancal participa en la remodelación del restaurante Jaleo. Los
paneles Tea acampan en el techo, mientras las sillas de la misma
colección pisan fuerte y surgen por doquier ayudando a configurar un estilo refrescante y simpático.
Bajo la dirección del cocinero José Andrés, Jaleo es un multipremiado restaurante español con tres localizaciones en Washington
y una sede en Las Vegas. Después de 20 años liderando la oferta
gastronómica de la capital de Estados Unidos, el Jaleo primigenio
reabre sus puertas con un nuevo y divertido look.
Para la ocasión, José Andrés ha confiado en el saber hacer de Juli
Capella, gran amigo y mejor embajador del diseño español. El
rediseño de Jaleo quiere celebrar el carácter festivo de su propio
nombre y la personalidad única del chef, por ello, Capella ha proyectado un ambiente fresco y distendido, donde la ironía y el color
recuperan un surrealismo propio del mediterráneo.
Jaleo is a Spanish word meaning revelry, fun, and bustle. Jaleo
DC’s striking redesign blended this festive spirit with the unique
personality and style of his chef. Led by the exciting vision of
Andrés’ friend, Spanish designer and architect Juli Capella, Jaleo’s
new look will be “a relaxed environment of bold colors, with a hint
of madness and irony, and a touch of Mediterranean surrealism,”
explains Capella. Jaleo DC will feature sleek furnishings and artwork created in Spain by some of the country’s best contemporary
designers.

homenaje a España y no solo en la mesa, sino también el entorno… Desde las lámparas a las sillas pasando por las alfombras o
las mesas futbolín son piezas únicas traídas desde España”.
“I love that this Jaleo will truly celebrate Spain, not only on the
table, but also all around you,” says José Andrés. “From the lamps
above, to the chairs you sit on, to the tiles on the floor, we are bringing unique pieces from Spain, and from Spanish artists.”

Sancal takes part in the restoration of Jaleo restaurant. Tea panels
camp on the roof while Tea chairs appear everywhere, contributing to set a refreshing and enjoyable environment.
Under the direction of Chef José Andrés, Jaleo is an awardwinning tapas restaurant with three locations in the Washington
metro area, and an outpost in Las Vegas.
Menú castizo y muebles de diseño. Sancal vuelve a la capital para
formar parte de una quesería de lo más chic. Mezcla de sabores y
de conceptos: quesos de toda procedencia elaborados de forma
artesanal en un entorno rabiosamente contemporáneo. Un perfecto maridaje entre tradición y vanguardia para un espacio con identidad propia. De este modo, el restaurante incorpora y es además
transmisor de la filosofía que guía a Poncelet en la elaboración de
sus quesos.
El Cheese Bar es algo más que un sitio para comer; es lugar de
reunión con multitud de espacios en los que monotonía está
prohibida. Junto a la barra y las mesas aparecen zonas de relax e,
incluso, encontramos una biblioteca. En el proyecto se aprecia la
mano de Gabriel Corchero y el exquisito gusto por los detalles de
su estudio.

Unique flavors and design furniture. Sancal comes back to Madrid as
part of a very chic restaurant. Mix of flavors and concepts: handmade
cheeses from everywhere in a remarkable contemporary environment.
A perfect marriage between tradition and vanguard for a place with
its own identity. The restaurant reproduces and illustrates the particular philosophy that Poncelet applies in the manufacturing process of
its cheeses.
The Cheese Bar is more than a simple place to eat; it is a cool setting
for special meetings where tedium is forbidden. Near the bar there are
some lounge areas, and there is also a library. One can appreciate the
fine work made by Gabriel Corchero and the sensibility for details of
his studio.
