In today’s gospel, Jesus addressed the queson of
divorce. He acknowledges that divorce is legally possible
under Old Testament’s laws (or the Mosaic law) while
saying that it is not desirable and is not the will of God.
Vacan: September 8, 2015. In his le,er, Mis Iudex
Dominus Iesus — or “The Lord Jesus, Clement Judge”—
Pope Francis announced new changes for the annulment
process. In other words, Pope Francis wants to speed up
and streamline the process for Catholics who divorce and
want to remarry in the Church. (The new changes are expected to take effect on December 8, 2015, the beginning
of the Year of Mercy.)
While he reaffirms the indissolubility of marriage, Pope
Francis is changing the church to be more open and inclusive . The Pope wants all people to be in a relaonship
with God and be part of the Church’s life.
Let us pray for all families, married couples, for a
life-long of love and laughter, and faith.

MISSION CALL TO PHARMACISTS:
The medical mission team is in great need of a
couple of pharmacists to serve during our mission
week October 23 -31, 2015. The role of the
pharmacist is critical to insuring the safety and
quality of the prescriptions dispensed and as a
consult with the doctors. We have a donor who will
sponsor a pharmacist if finances are a concern.
Also, if you are not able to attend the full week, we
can accommodate a flexible schedule. Please

Diaper Drive
Hi, my name is Taralynn Mack. I
graduated from St. Thomas More in
2012, and I am currently a senior at
Duchesne Academy of the Sacred
Heart. Right now I am working to earn
my Gold Award in Girl Scouts, and I could really use
your help! As you may know, October is Respect Life
Month and I’m teaming up with the Gabriel Project to
help with their Diaper Drive beginning October
3rd through October 11th. We will be collecting
diapers (sizes newborn, 1, 4, 5, and 6 in particular),
wipes, travel-size toiletries, and plastic baby bottles
to include in diaper bags for new moms. Although
material goods are important, the most help is given
through prayers and support. I am also compiling a
collection of prayers, inspirational quotes, and new
parent advice to include in each diaper bag.

This week around STM….
Mary Heard has been a teacher at
STM for 15 years. She has a
Bachelor of Science in Criminal
Justice from Sam Houston State
University and a Masters in
Education from Houston Baptist University. Ms.
Heard is the youngest of 7 children. She has 3 daughters of her own, all STM alumni, and one grandson.
Her interests are theater, music, bike riding, travel, and
gardening. Ms. Heard states “I love teaching at STM
because it is like my family. My daughters went to
school here and were very prepared. I feel STM
prepares students for high school. I love teaching and I
love my STM students.”
