O n the evening of September 28th the Santa Monica Pier transformed into a massive art exhibition. The after-dark art festival is called “Glow,” and it is one of the largest public art events in the world. From the outside of the “Glowmasphere,” you can see shadows moving to the music. Inside, the objects under projection screens create a changing backdrop. This was one of the many interactive art projects on display. “I just found how all the colors were interesting because they all really mixed, and it just made everything more modern and unique,” said Ava Hernandez of Mar Vista. The stretch of sand north and south of the Santa Monica Pier was lit up with art displays for one night only. Organizers expected the event to draw more than 150,000 people to the beach. Artist Glenn Kaino created “Well,” a wishing well filled with bioluminescent water. Coins glow blue as they fall to the bottom.“’Glow’ particularly is an amazing event because it creates a moment where artists can interface with the public on a large scale and create experiments, and to hear the feedback has been wonderful,” said Kaino. The goal of “Glow” is to allow the artists to engage the public in a unique way without limitations. Some visitors simply observe while others participate by showing their artistic side, like 5-yearold twin jellyfish Charlotte and Stella, and their dad. This was the third time since 2008 the city has hosted the contemporary art event Galaxy Glow Goals The company mission statement is clear, now we need to play the part of the missionary and make the message gets out to our customers. G alaxy Glow employees had a team building work shop at Alpine. The workshop involved a lot of games that involved trust teamwork and communication between employees throughout that day . In the afternoon the real challenge course began when we were harnessed and we started climbing some trees. Now the real change wasn’t just climbing but also the fear of falling was much scary to most than the thought of jump off. At this moment when someone was torn between jumping and falling off we would all shout words of encouragement to each other, kept each other goes as far as they could go. Galaxy Glow would cheer as every employee would accept their challenge of climbing up a tall tree and give words of in encouragement for when ever someone felt like giving up. By the end of the day we all learned a little something about ourselves about our company. That no matter how hard something got with team work anything is possible Let Us LIGHT up your Show! @ www.galaxyglow.info Page 4
