Dear Parishioners:
As we are about to begin the holy season of
Lent, I would like to invite you to focus on
the acquisition of one virtue and the basic
practices of our Catholic identity. We always
focus on sin and penance, and we still have to,
but approaching Lent from the perspective
of the love of God, neighbor and a virtue
of your choice to practice can be an awesome
way to grow spiritually.
Recently I read that knowledge stimulates virtue and virtue reflects knowledge. Do not
be afraid to know more about your Catholic
faith and finding practical ways to practice it
day in and day out. May this Lenten Season
be a holy time for everyone in our community. (Pope Francis’ Lenten message can be

Queridos Fieles:
Ya a punto de comenzar el santo tiempo de
Cuaresma, me gustaría invitarlos a concentrarnos en la adquisición de una virtud y en las
prácticas Católicas más elementales. Siempre
nos enfocamos en el pecado y la penitencia, y
debemos continuar haciéndolo así; pero acercarnos a la Cuaresma desde la perspectiva del
amor a Dios y al prójimo, y mediante la práctica de una virtud, puede ayudarnos mucho a
crecer espiritualmente.
Hace poco leía que el conocimiento estimula
la virtud y la virtud refleja el conocimiento.
No tengamos miedo de conocer nuestra fe y
practicarla todos los días de un modo concreto. Que esta Cuaresma sea un tiempo santo para todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad.

CAMPAIGN EVENTS
Our goal is to change hearts, to end abortion,
and to help pregnant moms choose life through
motherhood or adoption. Daily prayer vigils to
end abortion from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each
day from March 5th to April 13th at 1691 The
Alameda, San Jose.
Candlelight Procession at 7:00 p.m. on March
5th, St. Leo Church, 88 Race Street, San Jose.
Join Bishop Patrick McGrath for a Mass for
the Sanctity of Life on Thursday, March 13th
at 7:30pm at Saint Lucy Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd., Campbell. Join us for a reception after mass.
Join Bishop Thomas Daly for a Procession of
Life at 11:00 a.m. on April 5th from St. Leo
Church, 88 Race Street, San Jose to Planned
Parenthood at 1691 The Alameda, San Jose for
a prayer vigil.
