REGISTRATION HOURS FOR SEPTEMBER 3 - 19, 2013
WILL BE TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND THURSDAYS, FROM 2:00PM TO 7:00PM.
All registration (and re-registration) must be done in person. You will complete a standard form for
our records. There will be NO registration by mail this year.
If you are NOT a member of this parish, you must bring proof of membership at another parish; this is
usually in the form of a church offering envelope, which has your name and number printed on it.
Registration Tuition Fee:
Individual (1 child) $120
Family (2 or more children) $150
Fees must be paid by check or in cash when you come in to register. There will be no refund of the fees
once classes have begun.
If you are registering for the first time:
Please bring your child’s Baptismal Certificate so we can make a copy for our records. This is
necessary even if your child was baptized at OLA. (If your child has never been baptized, please bring the
Birth Certificate.)
If your child has already received First Communion, please bring the First Communion
Certificate (or other documentation) showing this.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
If going off to school with nice clean clothes and a
backpack containing all the required books and
"schooly" items makes for a brilliant student, Copiague
kids have it made! They will be marching off tomorrow
with everything the teacher ordered....thanks to you.
Good luck to you kids, but remember, you can join a
gym but if you don't go, it doesn't do much good.
The needs of the Outreach this week is mainly in
canned vegetables; any kind is fine. We can also use
jam, jelly, tuna fish and spaghetti.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process
for 1) those Non-Christians who are 18 years of age or
older considering the possibility of becoming Roman
Catholic; 2) for those 18 years of age or older, of other
Christian faiths considering the possibility of embracing
the Roman Catholic Church; 3) for baptized Roman
Catholics 18 years of age or older who have not
received either the sacrament of the Eucharist or
Confirmation - or both.
Time: 2 hours on Sunday afternoon which will include
Mass and class. Classes will begin in late October and
will be held either from 12noon until 2pm or 1pm until
3pm. If you have a friend or family member who would
be interested, please contact Deacon Mike or Deacon
Phil at the rectory. An interview must be conducted
before classes begin.

members of our Society to see a brochure on what the Our Lady of the
Assumption Rosary Altar Society is all about. As you know, we are a Parish
working group which has a foundation in honoring our Blessed Mother. Our
monthly meetings are from September to June at which time we take great
pleasure in coming together to plan special devotions, various fund raisers,
decorate our Altars for special occasions (With your generous support) and
take care of the Mass Linens. We welcome all women to join us!!!
10:30 MASS CHOIR
The 10:30 Mass Choir is inviting young adults, high
school students, and students in grades 7 and 8 to join
the choir.
Rehearsals are being held every Thursday, 7:30 PM

El Rito de Iniciaición Cristiana para Adultos es el
proceso para:
1) No Cristianos, 18 años de edad o mayores,
considerando la posibilidad de convertirse en
Católicos Romanos.
2) Aquellos de 18 años de edad o mayores, de otra
fe Cristiana, considerando la posibilidad de abrazar
la Iglesia Católica Romana

Obrzęd chrześcijańskiego wtajemniczenia dorosłych jest
procesem dla: 1) osób nie będących chrześcijanami w wieku
lat 18 lub powyżej, rozważających możliwość przystąpienia
do Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego, 2) chrześcijan innych
wyznań w wieku lat 18 lub powyżej, rozważających możliwość przystąpienia do Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego, 3)
ochrzczonych członków Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego w
wieku lat 18 lub powyżej, którzy nie otrzymałi sakramentu
Eucharystii lub Bierzmowania - lub obu sakramentów.
Czas: dwie godziny w niedzielne popołudnia, które obejmą
Mszę św. oraz zajęcia. Zajęcia rozpoczną się pod koniec
października i będą odbywały się w godz: 12pm- 2pm lub
1pm-3pm. Jeżeli ktoś z Państwa przyjaciół lub członków
rodzin byłby zainteresowany, to prosimy o skontaktowanie

Przygotowujemy się obecnie do rozpoczęcia nowego roku szkolnego (nauki religii) 2013-2014 i w związku z tym prosimy
Państwa o zapoznanie sie z następujacymi informacjami :
1. Lekcje religii rozpoczną się we WTOREK 1-ego PAŹDZIERNIKA 2013 roku.
2. PROWADZIMY OBECNIE ZAPISY. ODBYWAJĄ SIĘ ONE WE WTORKI, ŚRODY I CZWARTKI, W GODZ. OD 2 PM DO 7 PM.
ZAPISY TRWAĆ BĘDĄ DO 19 WRZEŚNIA.
3. Wszystkie zapisy nowych uczniów (oraz zapisy ponowne) muszą być dokonywane osobiście. Należy wypełnić
standardową formę. W tym roku NIE prowadzimy zapisów drogą pocztową.
4. Jeżeli NIE są Państwo zapisani do naszej parafii, to powinni Państwo przynieść zaświadczenie o swojej przynależności do
innej parafii. Może to być np. koperta używana do składki z wydrukowaną nazwą parafii oraz z Państwa nazwiskiem, adresem
oraz numerem ewidencyjnym.
5. Opłata wynosi:
indywidualna ( jedno dziecko) - $ 120.
rodzina (dwoje i wiecej dzieci) - $ 150.
Opłaty należy uiścić w trakcie dokonywania zapisów. AKCEPTUJEMY CZEKI LUB GOTÓWKĘ. Jednocześnie informujemy, że po
rozpoczęciu roku szkolnego nie zwracamy opłat !!!!
W przypadku zapisów nowych uczniów (zapisywanych po raz pierwszy):
** Prosimy Państwa o przyniesienie ze sobą METRYKI CHRZTU DZIECKA (nawet jeśli dziecko było ochrzczone w naszej parafii),
abyśmy mogli zrobić jej kopię. Jeśli dziecko nie było jeszcze ochrzczone, prosimy o przyniesienie jego Aktu Urodzenia.
** Jeżeli dziecko przyjęło już sakrament Eucharystii (Pierwsza Komunia Św.), to wówczas prosimy o przyniesienie
zaświadczenia potwierdzajacego przyjęcie tego sakramentu.

“In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge”
Two ideas presented to us this week are “refuge” and
“renunciation” After our experience with the storm last Fall, we
are all very familiar with the concept of a “refuge”. Many of us
had to leave the security of our homes to find refuge with a
relative or friend. Some of us lost all the possessions that were
dear to us. I am sure many of us were very discouraged.
But I did not hear of anyone of us who lost hope! Because
we know that our true refuge is in God.
In a song that is very loved by many OLA parishioners,
On Eagles’ Wings, we sing: “say to the Lord: my refuge, my God
in whom I trust”. Let us sing it this weekend with real
earnestness. And if you do not read this until after you have
been at Mass, let the song resound in your mind during the week.
And he will raise you up on eagles’ wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of his hand.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells us “whoever does not carry his
own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple”. (In the
words of Jesus immediately before this statement, I believe that
in the language of Jesus day, “hate” must have had the meaning
“prefer more than me” in the same way as “brothers of Jesus” is
used to refer to his relatives.)
Frequently we do not get to sing this fourth verse of On
Eagles’ Wings: For to his angels he’s given a command
to guard you in all of your ways;
upon their Hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
