fr. William Hubbard
Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
A few weeks ago we were asking for prayers for our teens on
retreat in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Well, they had a great experience of God’s love and how to
live that love as witnesses for others. To end their retreat, at
the 5:30pm Mass they were formally accepted as Candidates
for the Sacrament of Confirmation. I was happy to reflect
our community’s willingness and desire to formally choose
them for the Sacrament. They will be confirmed on May 2 at
5:30pm, a Friday. Of course, everyone is welcome to come
and support our teens. Since Bishop Vann is not able to be
with us that day, he has graciously granted me the permission
I need so that I can be the minister of Confirmation. Normally, the Sacrament is reserved to bishops only…but a bishop
can delegate a priest to be the minister. I am very happy that
I will be with our teens in that special way for their Confirmation. Many thanks go to Mary Kay Dubay and our whole team
of catechists who have helped prepare our teens.
Of course, next weekend is Palm Sunday. It begins the holiest
week of our year. Palm Sunday starts with a joyful acceptance
of Jesus as King, waving palms as symbols of his victory. But,
then it ends in a stunned silence as we see Jesus crucified,
dead and buried. But, we gather a week later to remember
the great glory of our God over everything, especially death.
Please note our Holy Week schedule, which you can find in
the newsletter, and plan on joining us for as much as you can.
It is a powerful week to reconnect to the story of Jesus and
deepen our relationship with him.
fifth sunday of lent / 50 Domingo de Cuaresma
Muchas gracias a Mary Kay
a preparar a nuestros adolescentes.
vemos a Jesús crucificado, muerto y sepultado.

CRS Rice Bowl Reflection: Haiti
Catholic Relief Services’ Rice Bowl Lenten program is a way
to encounter Jesus through others, especially through the
most vulnerable in our world. This week, CRS Rice Bowl
invites us to enter into solidarity with the people of Haiti.
We are encouraged to reflect on the Catholic social teaching
principle, Call to Family, Community and Participation, and
reminded that, as social beings, we are called to seek God
together. Let us pray this week for our brothers and sisters in
Haiti and all around the world, that our families and communities may be strengthened and blessed. And...looking for a
new way to bring Lent to life? There’s an app for that! Free for
iPhone and Android. Get daily reflections, meatless recipes
and track your Lenten sacrifices.
a Dios juntos.

Open to all children entering kindergarten through 8th grade
Positive reinforcement from caring adults, the thrill of summer activities, the sharing of adventures with a group of
friends, and the chance to participate in summer fun activities
are many of the reasons for sending your child to OLF’s summer camp program. Far more than simple child care for the
summer, our OLF summer camp provides both quality educational experiences and fun for the campers in a safe environment. Our caring, well trained counselors involve themselves
with the campers both by facilitating games and activities and
by playing along in games of the campers’ choice. Through
this interaction our campers develop healthy social skills,
learn how to successfully resolve conflicts, and how to make
