Autumn
Autumn is the season that falls between summer and winter. There are many
changes that begin in this fascinating season. Days become shorter. Leaves of
trees turn from green to vibrant red, yellow and orange. Trees need sunlight to
keep their leaves a lively green. Without sunlight leaves turn colours. The
grass is no longer blanketed with dew but with frost, almost every morning, as
temperatures reach the freezing point. Animals start storing up a food supply
to last through the long winter months. These changes occur as we adjust from
the heat of the summer to the chill of the winter.

GUIÓN DE TRABAJO
TITULO: Autumn
TEMA: Las estaciones y en especial el otoño.
INTENCIÓN DIDÁCTICA: Lectura comprensiva de un texto en lengua inglesa y
selección de la información principal del mismo.
TEMPORALIZACIÓN: 5 sesiones de 60 minutos cada una.

SECUENCIAS DIDÁCTICAS:
1ª SESIÓN
1. PRE-READING: Antes de comenzar con la
lectura se realizará una lluvia de ideas sobre el
tema del texto haciendo preguntas sobre el
título y los dibujos que aparecen en el margen
izquierdo. Si es necesario, se permitirá a los
alumn@s responder usando su lengua materna.
e.g. What is the title of this text?
What can you see in the picture? (pointing to the
picture).
What do you think this text is about? Etc.
2. CORE VOCABULARY: Se introducen antes
de la lectura algunas palabras que pueden
presentar problemas de comprensión,
preguntando antes al alumnado por su
significado. El resto de palabras se intentarán
deducir por el contexto.
3. READING: Lectura en voz alta por parte de la
profesora y seguimiento individual de los
alumn@s prestando especial atención a la
entonación y pronunciación. A continuación, se
pedirá que cada frase sea leída por un alumn@
aleatoriamente, para terminar preguntado si
coincide la lectura con la ideas previas que
tenían del texto extrayendo el tema principal
del mismo.
2ª SESIÓN
1. READING 2: La profesora vuelve a leer el texto
pero esta vez haciendo una pausa después de
cada línea para permitir que todos los alumn@s

repitan cada frase en coro. Se puede repetir este
paso tantas veces como sea necesario, con el fin
de mejorar la habilidad de leer en voz alta a la
vez que se practica la pronunciación y
entonación.
2. READING COMPREHENSION: A
continuación, se leerán las preguntas que se
adjuntan en la ficha de manera individual y
después se realizarán en la pizarra de manera
conjunta, permitiendo resolver las posibles dudas
que vayan surgiendo.
3ª SESIÓN
1. READING 3: Lectura individual en voz alta
permitiendo que cada estudiante tenga la
oportunidad de leer, lo que ayudará a mejorar la
habilidad iniciada en la sesión anterior.

4ª SESIÓN
1. READING 4: Lectura en silencio e individual del
texto.
2. PREGUNTAS VALORATIVAS:

What's your favourite season?
Why? Is it because of the weather?
5ª SESIÓN
1. VISUALIZACIÓN:
What image comes into your head when you read
the text?
2. Draw a picture about the text and colour it.
