Dear Parents,
I hope you are well and that the start of the school year has been a smooth one for your son/daughter.
Community School Program
We are happy to report that DeWitt Clinton High School Community School has been awarded the Community School
Program grant. The grant provides an opportunity for schools to work closely with community organizations, parents,
students and staff, to provide additional services to families.
Sibling Program
As part of the Community School grant, we will offer families an opportunity to participate in a “Sibling Program”. This
pilot program is designed for 20-25 students’ grades three to eight. The idea is that if you have a child at DWCHS and one
at an elementary/middle school nearby, you can have the older child pick up the younger brother/sister and bring them
to DWCHS. We will provide the younger child with homework help, games and arts and crafts. This program will start in
October. Please contact me if you are interested.
Curriculum Evening
We invite you to our school on Wednesday, October 1 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM for our second annual Curriculum
Evening where we will provide you with information about the classes your son/daughter will be taking this year. This will
give you an opportunity to hear firsthand what we are doing in all subject areas and get to meet some the school’s staff.

The dates for the next few School Leadership Team meetings are: September 23 , October 23 , November 20 and

December 18 . SLT meetings are public meetings, where you can participate in the school decision making process.
These meetings start at 5:00 PM.

Our next few Parent Association meetings are: September 20 , October 18 , November 15 and December 20 . The
start time for PA meetings is 10:00 AM.

Estimados padres,
Espero que se encuentren bien y que a la misma vez el comienzo de este nuevo año escolar haya sido agradable.
Escuela Comunitaria
Estamos felices de informarle que la escuela superior DeWitt Clinton ha sido reconocida como una Escuela Comunitaria.
Este programa nos da la oportunidad para que colaboremos con organizaciones comunitarias, padres, estudiantes y el
personal escolar y de ese modo poder proporcionarles servicios adicionales a las familias.
Programa de Hermanos
Como parte del programa Escuela Comunitaria, vamos a ofrecerles a las familias la oportunidad de participar en un
"Programa de hermanos". Este programa piloto se ha diseñado para 20 a 25 estudiantes del tercer al octavo grado. La
idea es que si usted tiene a su hijo/a en la escuela superior Dewitt Clinton y a otro de sus hijos en una escuela elemental
o intermedia cerca de la escuela Dewitt Clinton, su niño mayor puede recoger el hermano/la hermana menor y traerlo/a
a nuestra escuela. Vamos a ayudar al menor/ la menor con las tareas, juegos y artes. Este programa se iniciará en octubre.

Noche de Currículo
Le invitamos a nuestra escuela el miércoles 1ero de octubre de 5:30-7:30 de la noche para nuestra segunda noche de
Currículo, donde le daremos información acerca de las clases que su hijo / hija va a estar tomando este año. Durante este
evento, usted tendrá la oportunidad de escuchar de primera mano lo que estamos haciendo en todas las clases. De igual
modo, tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a algunos de los miembros de nuestra escuela.
Próximas reuniones del equipo de liderazgo y asociación de los padres
Las fechas para las próximas reuniones de la Junta de Liderazgo son: el 23 de septiembre, el 23 de octubre, el 20 de
noviembre y el 18 de diciembre. Las reuniones de la Junta de Liderazgo son reuniones públicas, donde se puede
participar en el proceso de decisiones de la escuela. Estas reuniones comienzan a las 5:00 PM.
Nuestras próximas reuniones de la Asociación de Padres son: El 20 de septiembre, el 18 de octubre, el 15 de noviembre y
el 20 de diciembre. La hora de inicio de las reuniones de la Asociación de Padres es a las 10:00 AM.
