When film meets dance.
Choreograph the movement for the camera,
write dance by film editing. Fragment the body by
framing it. Compose stories through dance using
various elements of visual language.

2 ANA CEMBRERO COCA
She has an University degree in Fine Arts from the Facultad de San
Carlos de Valencia (Spain) and from L’École Nationale Supérieure
des arts visuels La Cambre, Brussels (Belgium), with a specialty in
cinema and audiovisual arts. Since her childhood she was taught
classical dance at the Royal Academy of Dance (London) where
she got a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies.
For seven years she dances with the Spanish choreographer
Juana Castellblanque. She continues her professional dance
training with different european choreographers and companies.
She works for the Brussels dance company T.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e
as a dancer/performer in the pieces Chambre(s) d’Hotel, Insert
Coin and in their next production XL Pleasures.
She has worked as a lead actress in the short film La version du
Loup by Belgian filmmakers Sirot & Balboni. Since 2008, together
with Jorge Piquer, she has led the artistic collective La ignorancia,
in which they mix dance, music and audiovisuals. Her dancefilms
have been exhibited and awarded in various international film and
art festivals such as the 38th Dance on Camera Festival in New
York, the 4th International Jumping Frames Dance Video Festival
of Hong Kong with a first international dance video award, and
five more international awards. She currently lives and works
in Brussels where she teaches dance at several international
schools, she was part of the choreographic research laboratory
“20 Young Choreographers for Brussels” and is an official member
of the International Dance Council of UNESCO.

A portrait on a journey inside the European Parliament and the city of Brussels.
Work and lifestyle of the Eurocrats is performed through different choreographies
by several dancers. The characters dance, run, fleeing empty spaces, amid an
atmosphere out of time and out of context in architecture “no place.”

This video dance shown as a film intercuts contemporary dance with patterns, shapes
and primary colours. Angular shapes found in the public space are contrasted with the
rounded and organic forms of dance and the human form.
Movement, composition and rhythm trigger a sensory and emotional experience.

confront their fears and frustrations inculcated during their education and
their different generational experiences.
A moment of time in the life of four personages. This dancefilm shows through the body the
ambiguity of a real and imaginary world where a woman searches, dances, fights or plays,
without separating what is lived and what is dreamed.
