Abstract
Proposition of a new integral system of handling pig manure, based on a special
and adjustable floor belt under partial slat, to avoid slurry production.
A new integral system of waste management in pig housing is proposed. The
system is based on disposing a special and adjustable floor belt under partial
slat to get different objectives: improvement of air quality inside the building, no
slurry production, low cost and easy maintenance. Experimental results from a
metabolic cage and water absorption capability of faecal matter are showed and
confirm that the proposed system is viable.
