PROJECT UPDATE
This past month excavators entered the
basement floor of the power plant building where Holly units 1 and 2 resided and
began to remove equipment, piping, and
anything else attached to the walls and the
floor in preparation for demolition of the
concrete pedestals and final completion
of this area of the plant. Work continued
on the removal of the Holly 3 and 4 boilers.
A ramp made of concrete rubble and
soil is built from the ground floor down
into the basement floor. The Holly 1 and
2 concrete pedestals that held up their
steam turbines are on the right.
An excavator down in the basement
works to remove steel beams and other
material where Holly 2 resided.

The concrete pedestals on top of the
basement floor are now bare and ready
to be cracked and crumbled. All of the
equipment and steel material has been
removed from the floor.

boiler is cut and laid on the ground floor
for disposal. The metal is 6.75 inches thick.

•Reuniones del comité se
celebran el tercer martes de
cada mes a las 6:30 de la tarde en el Centro de Recreo

su eliminación.

de Holly 3. Pueden ver que mas luz del
