Tuesday, June 10th – Wednesday, June 11th: End of year school trip to New Hampshire
Monday, June 16th – Wednesday, June 18th : Final Exams – 11:30am Dismissal
Thursday, June 19th : Last Day of School – 11:30 dismissal
WEEKLY FOCUS: ENTHUSIASM
What can students to do with all of the PRIDE points they earn week after week? This week students celebrated
their hard work with a PRIDE auction where they used their PRIDE points to bid on special activities with their
teachers, including: watching a movie snacks with Ms. Lewis, making smoothies with Ms. Graham, playing
basketball with Ms. Mercado, or enjoying Jay Gee’s ice cream from Ms. Lopez.
IN THE CLASSROOM: ELA with MS. LEWIS and MS. KERRIGAN
As scholars finish reading Tuck Everlasting, Ms. Lewis and Ms. Kerrigan ask, “If you could live forever, would
you want to?” Students participated in a Scholar Symposium this week to defend their positions.
DREAM BIG TOUR: EMERSON FIELD TRIP
Our last stop of the Dream Big Tour was hosted by Emerson College in Boston. Students walked through Boston
Common, explored the Boston Gardens, and took a tour through Emerson’s facilities, including the Cutler Majestic
Theater and the Emerson TV and Radio Studios. Lunch was hosted by Emerson’s athletic department in the
Skybox with excellent views of the new gym! Shout out to the UP Academy teachers, parents, and Emerson staff
who helped make this a fantastic trip!

ENFOQUE SEMANAL: ENTUSIASMO
¿Qué pueden hacer los estudiantes con todos los puntos de PRIDE que ganan semana tras semana? Esta semana
los estudiantes celebraron sus esfuerzos con una subasta PRIDE donde utilizaron sus puntos para ganar actividades
especiales con sus maestros, entre ellos se incluye ver una película con Sra. Lewis, hacer batidos con la señora
Graham, jugar baloncesto con la Sra. Mercado, o disfrutar de un helado de la Sra. López.
DENTRO DEL SALON: ELA con la Sra. LEWIS y la Sra. KERRIGAN
La clase de ELA termino de leer Tuck Everlasting, y ahora la Sra. Lewis y la Sra. Kerrigan pregunta, "Si usted
pudiera vivir para siempre, ¿le gustaría?" Los
estudiantes participaron en un Simposio Académico
esta semana para defender sus posiciones.
TOUR DE GRAN SUEÑOS: VISITA A
EMERSON COLLEGE
Nuestra última parada del Tour de Gran Sueños fue
organizado por Emerson College. Los estudiantes
caminaron por el Boston Common, exploraron los
jardines de Boston, y realizaron un recorrido por las
instalaciones de Emerson, incluyendo el Teatro
Cutler Majestic y los estudios de televisión y radio.
El almuerzo fue organizado por el departamento de
deportes de Emerson en el Skybox con excelentes
vistas al nuevo gimnasio. !Le queremos agradecer a
los maestros de UP Academy, los padres, y el
personal de Emerson que ayudaron a hacer de este un viaje fantástico!
