Taylorsville families,
On Monday, we will be sending home COUPON books with every student through SchoolStore.com. We
encourage you to USE THESE COUPONS! There is a flyer attached to this email with more information! I have
also attached the new school calendar for 2015-2018! This was approved by our school board Monday
evening!
PTO NOVEMBER MEETING AND FAMILY EVENT
Have you purchased your ticket yet for next week’s Roller Skating Party and November PTO Meeting? They
will be on sale in the front office through next Tuesday! The skating event will be from 6:00-8:00. We will hold
our meeting at 7:00 p.m. We hope you will participate in this opportunity to help us plan our December,
January, and February events! The flyer is attached again!
COLLEGE GO WEEK
At Taylorsville Elementary, we will celebrate Go College week from November 17-21. On Tuesday, November
18, the National Elementary Honor Society members will speak to all kids, grades K-6, about the importance of
furthering their educations and how that relates to careers. Teachers will be given booklets about student
success to hand out to the kids. NEHS members will also be interviewing students throughout the school about
future college and career plans. Students should also be on the lookout for special wall art at school that will
be in celebration of Go College week. As a culminating activity, next Friday, November 21, all students will
have the opportunity to wear shirts indicating their favorite college, or, if the kids prefer, they can wear outfits
that indicate their future career plans.
iCare STAFF NEEDS – EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for additional staff to work in our iCare program! The hours are 6:30-8:00 a.m. or 2:30-5:30
p.m. Monday through Friday! If you work for iCare, your children can attend for free! Thank you for
considering this employment opportunity!
MARSH FRESH IDEA
We have added a new way for you to help Taylorsville as you do your normal shopping! If you shop at Marsh,
you can register your Fresh Idea card to help support us! We have attached the flyers for this in both English
and Spanish. Although they look different, the information is the same!
CHUCK E CHEESE’S FAMILY NIGHT UPDATE
We received the check this week from Chuck E Cheese after our Family Event on Friday, October 24. We earned
$552.02! THANK YOU to all for coming out to support this event!
GOOD LUCK TO OUR SPELL BOWL TEAM AND LEGO ROBOTICS TEAM!
This is an exciting week for two of our extra-curricular teams! Our Spell Bowl Team will compete in the
regional competition on Thursday, November 20 at Southside at 5:00 p.m. G-O-O-D L-U-C-K spellers! Then, on
Saturday, November 22, our Lego Robotics Team will participate in their competition at FFY throughout the
day! We know both of these teams have worked hard to prepare for these competitions, and we know they
will represent Taylorsville in a fine fashion! Thank you for Mrs. Renner, our Spell Bowl Team sponsor, and Mrs.
Dever, our Lego Robotics sponsor, for all of their time and effort in working with the students!

VETERAN’S DAY
WOW!!!! Mr. Vailes and our 5th and 6th grade students gave a fantastically patriotic presentation honoring our
Veteran’s this week! Thank you to all of you for submitting the pictures and names of Veterans so that we
could honor them!
I LOVE THIS SCHOOL TOUR!
All of our students will have the opportunity to view this multi-media presentation on Wednesday! It will
focus on our PBIS Expectations and anti-bullying. We hope you will ask your children about this!

REUNION DEL PTO Y EVENTO FAMILIAR EN NOVIEMBRE
¿Compraron ya sus entradas para la reunión de Noviembre del PTO y la Fiesta en Patines la semana que viene?
¡Se estarán vendiendo en la oficina hasta el próximo Jueves! El evento de patinaje será de 6:00 a 8:00. La
reunión del PTO la haremos a las 7:00 p.m. ¡Esperamos que participen en esta oportunidad de planificar
nuestros eventos de Diciembre, Enero y Febrero! ¡Le estamos anexando de nuevo el volante!
SEMANA “VIVA LA UNIVERSIDAD”
Del 17 al 21 de Noviembre, la Escuela Primaria Taylorsville celebrara la semana ”Viva la Universidad”. El
Martes 18 de Noviembre miembros de la National Elementary Honor Society hablaran a todos los niños, de los
grados KG a 6, acerca de la importancia de avanzar en su educación y de cómo esto se relaciona con las
profesiones. Los profesores recibirán folletos acerca del éxito estudiantil para que los repartan entre los
alumnos. Los miembros de la NEHS entrevistaran a estudiantes de la escuela acerca de sus futuros planes de
universidades y profesiones. Los estudiantes también podrán observar un mural en la escuela en celebración
de la semana “Viva la Universidad”. Como actividad de cierre, el próximo Viernes 21 de Noviembre, todos los
estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de usar la las camisas de su universidad favorita, o, si los niños lo
prefieren, pueden venir con ropa que indique sus planes de futuras profesiones.

¡Esta es una semana emocionante para dos de nuestros equipos de actividades extra curriculares! Nuestro
equipo de Deletreo participara en la competencia regional el Jueves 20 de Noviembre en Southside a las 5:00
p.m. ¡B-U-E-N-A S-U-E-R-T-E a nuestro equipo de deletreo! ¡Luego, el Sábado, Noviembre 22, nuestro equipo
de ROBOTICA LEGO participaran en su competencia en Foundation for Youth todo el dia! ¡Sabemos que
ambos equipos han trabajado duro para prepararse para estas competencias, y sabemos que representaran de
manera brillante a Taylorsville! Gracias a la Sra. Renner , nuestra promotora del equipos de deletreo , y a la
Sra. Dever, nuestra promotora del equipo de Robótica Lego, por su dedicación y trabajo con los estudiantes!

presentación patriótica en honor a nuestros Veteranos! ¡Gracias a todos ustedes por enviarnos fotos y
nombres de Veteranos para que pudiéramos honrarlos.!
