TESTING
Important Dates
Testing begins Wednesday April 23.
A testing letter came home today
with 3rd – 6th grade students. A
schedule of testing dates and
times is included.
Please avoid scheduling
appointments during this time. Attendance is
extremely important during testing weeks. A letter
with more information will be coming home next
week.

Dress Guidelines Now that the weather is getting
No School: There will be no school held on Friday,
April 18 and Monday, April 21. Enjoy the Spring days.
Golden Ticket Winners Congratulations to the
students who were the winners in the Golden Ticket
drawing April 7 - Sean Jaimes, Logan McLaughlin,
Mikayla Tucker, Matthew Aldridge, Addy Hosier,
William O’Rear, Natalia Morales, Andrew Steele,
Jasmine Potter, Devan Dailey, Corwyn Banks and
Brianne Harper. Great Job!!
Egg Drop The Nord Country School
Egg Drop will be held on
Wednesday, April 16th for grades 4,
5 & 6 and on Thursday, April 17th
for grades K, 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
Students should be making plans for how they can best
protect their egg. The contraption needs to be as light
as possible while still protecting the egg. All
contraptions get weighed (without the egg) at school.
Students receive a point for every gram it weighs.
Then points are added if the egg cracks (100 pts.) or
breaks (300 pts.). The student whose contraption
receives the fewest points wins! The school will
supply the eggs.
It is fun to see how creative our students can be.
Parents are invited to join us. It is always a lot of fun.

warmer we want to remind parents of the NCS Dress
Guidelines.
No bare midriffs, no undergarments showing, no
spaghetti strap tops or dresses – straps should be a
minimum of 2’ wide; no short shorts – shorts should
not be shorter than arm length to the fingertips; no
clothing that contains inappropriate graphics or
messages; no flip-flop sandals that leave most of the
foot exposed; high heeled shoes are strongly
discouraged; no sagging pants that expose underwear.
The school will inform parents in the event that a
student’s dress or grooming is not appropriate for
school. They will be asked to either take the child
home to change or bring a change of clothes for
him/her.
Yearbook Advertisements Mrs. Lawrence has
been working hard on the Yearbook. The students
have been writing about special events all year. This is
going to be a great Yearbook. We are hoping that our
yearbook will be in full color this year.
Parents may buy a dedication ad to wish a 6th grade
student well in Jr. High. Ads start at $30 for a
Business card size and go up from there. Forms will
be available in the office.

Los Exámenes comenzaran el
Eventos por Llegar
próximo miércoles, 23 de abril.
Una carta con información se ha
mandado a casa hoy para los
estudiantes del tercer al sexto
grado. Incluido en esta carta hay
un horario de las fechas y las horas especificas. Favor de
no hacer citas de doctor o dentista o de tomar vacaciones
durante este tiempo de exámenes. La asistencia es muy
importante durante esta semana como también llegar a la
escuela puntualmente y con la pansita llena.

La Caída de los Huevos será el
miércoles, 16 de abril para los
estudiantes del cuarto al sexto grado y
el jueves, 17 de abril para los estudiantes del
Kínder hasta el tercer grado. Los estudiantes necesitan
planear cómo mejor proteger a su huevo para que no se
québre y qué tipo de materiales piensan usar. El aparato
necesita pesar lo menos posible como también proteger
bien al huevo. Todos los aparatos se miden sin el huevo
aquí en la escuela. Los estudiantes reciben un punto por
cada gramo que pese el aparato. Después, puntos son
añadidos si el huevo se rompe (300 puntos) o si tiene una
rajadura (100 puntos). El estudiante que reciba menos
puntos es el ganador. La escuela proveerá los huevos. Es
muy divertido ver la creatividad de los estudiantes al ver
sus creaciones. Todos están invitados a asistir este
evento divertido.

Ahora que la
temperatura ya esta subiendo, les queremos recordar de el
vestuario de La escuela de Nord. En el manual para
estudiantes/Padres, el vestuario es:
No usar ropa que muestre el abdomen; nada que muestre
ropa interior; no blusas o vestidos que tengan los tirantes
menos de 2 pulgadas; no chores cortos - deben de ser no
mas cortos de la longitud de los brazos a las yemas del
dedo; la ropa no puede llevar gráficas o mensajes
inapropiados, para prevenir picaduras de bichos o
lesiones; sandalias abiertas no se deben usar, si se usan
las sandalias; deben de tener correa en el talón, y los
alumnos deben llevar zapatos para usar durante la
educación física; no pantalones flojos que muestren los
calzones.
La escuela les informará a los padres en caso de que la
ropa o aseo del alumno no sea apropiado para le escuela.
Se les pedirán que recojan a su alumnos y los lleven a
casa a cambiar o que les traigan ropa para cambiarse.
Publicidad en el Anuario de NCS
La Señora Lawrence ha estado trabajando bastante en
crear el anuario para este año. Los estudiantes han estado
escribiendo sobre eventos especiales durante todo el año.
Este va a hacer un anuario muy espectacular. Esperemos
que nuestro anuario se pueda imprimir a todo color. Para
los padres que tengan a un estudiante en el sexto grado,
pueden comprar espacios para dedicarles o desearles
buena suerte en la secundaria. Los espacios se venden a
$30 por el tamaño de una tarjeta de negocios, y luego van
subiendo, dependiendo del tamaño del espacio. Las
formas las pueden recoger en la oficina.
