From the Pastor’s Desk...
Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
Last week we began a new Faith Formation Year with an exciting
attendance. I want to thank our Director Mrs. Marilyn Napoletano and all the Catechists who are guiding our kids in their journey of faith. We also started the process of welcoming our Catechumens to our Church; I invite all of you to pray for them and
to thank God for their willing to accept Christ’s call. Thank you
Christine Stillings for guiding our Catechumens with faith and
love.
La semana pasada iniciamos un nuevo año del programa de formación en la fe con una asistencia importante. Quiero dar las
gracias a nuestra directora, Marilyn Napoletano y a todos los
catequistas que guía a nuestros hijos en esta jornada de
fe. También iniciamos el proceso de bienvenida de nuestros
catecúmenos a nuestra iglesia; invito a todos a orar por nuestros
catecúmenos y a dar gracias a Dios, por ellos aceptar el llamado
de Cristo. Gracias Christine Stillings por guiar a nuestros catecúmenos con fe y amor.
This week we began our Youth Ministry gathering nights. I want
to welcome our new Director Theresa Guirola who was introduced to the community during last weekend’s masses. Theresa
and Pedro, her husband, are a gift from God to our community
and our Youth program. Thank you also Chris DiBiase for all
your hard work with our young ones during the past years. To
our youth, get ready for and exciting and busy year! I am grateful for being able to see God’s love, face and care through our
Parish Life.
Esta semana comenzamos las reuniones de nuestro ministerio
juvenil. Quiero dar la bienvenida a nuestra nueva Directora
Theresa Guirola quien fue presentada a la comunidad durante
las misas de la semana pasada. Theresa y Pedro, su esposo, son
un regalo de Dios para nuestra comunidad y nuestro programa
de jóvenes. Quiero también agradecer a Chris DiBiase por su
arduo trabajo con los jóvenes durante los últimos años. A nuestra juventud, decirles que se preparen para un año emocionante
y ocupado! Estoy agradecido con Dios por ser capaz de ver su
amor, su rostro y su cuidado a través de nuestra vida parroquial.
The readings for this 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time challenge us
to work hard to solve the many problems that affect mankind.
We are challenged to get actively involved in creating a better
society by working honestly, promoting justice, and using creatively all the opportunities of this life. Jesus acknowledges the
mind-set of the world, and how such people think and act.
He acknowledges that this is not all evil, but he points out that
there are lessons to be learned from such “worldly wisdom.”
The riches he offers are so much more precious than the riches
of the world, and, therefore, should be handled with much
greater care.
Las lecturas de este 25 domingo de tiempo ordinario nos desafían a trabajar duro para resolver los problemas que afectan a la
humanidad. Estamos desafiados a involucrarnos activamente en
la creación de una sociedad mejor, trabajando honestamente,
promoviendo la justicia y usando creativamente todas las oportunidades de esta vida. Jesús reconoce la mentalidad del mundo, y cómo las personas del mundo piensan y actúan. Reconoce
que esto no es del todo mal, pero señala que hay lecciones que
aprender de esa "sabiduría mundana". Las riquezas que El ofrece son mucho más valiosas que las riquezas del mundo y, por lo
tanto, deben ser manejadas con mucho mayor cuidado.
There is a lot of talk in modern times about devaluation, but in
a real sense money is only devalued by the use we make of it.
Oscar Wilde once described a cynic as “one who knows the price
of everything and the value of nothing.” A Christian should be
the reverse. One who has no interest in the price of anything but
knows the value of everything.
Let us ask our Lord for the grace to be able to build God’s kingdom on earth with love, creativity and a sense of urgency.

sentido verdadero, el dinero es devaluado por el uso que le damos. Oscar Wilde una vez describió a un cínico como "uno que
sabe el precio de todo y el valor de nada". Un cristiano debe ser
al revés: uno que no tiene ningún interés en el precio de cualquier cosa pero conoce el valor de todo.

“40 Days for Life”
draws attention to the evil of abortion, including a 40day peaceful prayer vigil. Prayer Warriors from our
church are needed to help fill slots in this vigil. The vigil
will be held in front of the Planned Parenthood office in
Orlando, 7 AM to 7 PM, September 25 to November 3.
We need to help fill Saturdays for five weeks.

if you can pray peacefully at the vigil site for one hour one day a
week for five weeks, or even for just one hour one day.
