The UNESCO MAN AND BIOSPHERE PROGRAM (MAB) with its 580 + Biosphere Reserves offer models as how to preserve our biological heritage and yet at the same time promote sustainable economic activity. The workshop will begin with overview of the Biosphere Reserves Program at the global level to set the stage for more detailed presentations on the 40 Spanish Biosphere Reserves covering a 7% of country surface.
