From the desk of Fr. Joe…
Goodbye and Thank You!
Transition is a part of every priest’s life. We know that from the very beginning of our ministry. It is
something that we accept trusting that the Holy Spirit has a hand in where we are being led. However, it
does not make the transition from one parish to another any easier. So it is with a sense of sadness and
gratitude that I say goodbye to Saint William Parish - AGAIN!
My first goodbye to Saint William Parish came in 1992 when I was ordained a priest and was
assigned to my first parish in Malvern. I never thought that in 2009 I would be sent back home to serve the
people of Saint William as their pastor.
These past seven years have been both a blessing and a heartache. There have been moments of
great joy and profound sadness. As pastor, I was put in a position to make decisions about the future of the
parish that were very difficult and painful, not only to me, but to others who dedicated themselves to this
parish community as well. Change is hard and Saint William Parish went through some significant changes
in the past seven years. For any pain or hurt that I may have caused I am truly sorry.
Along with the difficult times, there were also some very wonderful times as well. I will carry the
joy filled moments of my time here with me to my new assignment. I truly feel that I am leaving home
again. Not from 218 Stevens Street this time but from 6200 Rising Sun Avenue. I will always consider
Saint William Parish my home. That is what makes leaving here harder than leaving any of my previous
assignments. So now I ask you to pray for me as I leave home again and I will keep you and our parish in
my prayers. May God bless you and Saint William Parish always!

agradecidos a Dios y a él. Que Dios le bendiga en
su nueva Misión Pastoral. Le recordamos con
cariño en nuestras oraciones.
Con cariño,
Su Comunidad de St. William

BLOOD DRIVE
DOMINGO DUODÉCIMO? TIEMPO ORDINARIO
Monday, June 20, 2016
AGRADECIMIENTO.
