We had beautiful weather and great attendance. We had total income of $112,230.91 and total expenses of $56,276.65. Our net profit was $55,954.26. This great weekend assisted us in eliminating our debt! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, ate, played and had fun! You can enroll by visiting the website: www.faithdirect.net. Our parish code is: TX151. As always, know that your generosity is truly a gift from God. May God Bless You All! Fr. Tom That we may eagerly respond, “Here I am, Lord,” whenever we hear God call upon us to be His hands, feet and voice here on earth. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?’ ‘Here I am,’ I said, ‘send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8) Every day – in little ways and in big ways – God asks, “Whom shall I send?” Whether it is someone to take on a new ministry or just someone to open a door for a stranger, God constantly provides doors of opportunity. The next time you hear God calling, have the courage to walk through the door and say “Here I am, Lord.” become less self-centered and more Godcentered. Ash Wednesday’s Second Collection Parish Social Ministry (PSM) comprises of any aspect of parish life which reaches out to those in need in their parish community. Often times this involves providing food or clothing, financial support, case management, or merely a safe organization to turn to. Archdiocesan Social Ministries Collection for February 10th 2015 Contribution Statements During the last few months, our office has encountered technical difficulties with our computer system. We have resolved most of the issues. Unfortunately, this has caused us to become quite behind in the posting of our contributions. Please know that we are working diligently to get this task completed. As soon as we get the Contribution Statements completed, we will make an announcement at Mass, in the Bulletin and through One Call Now. We will offer statements to be picked up or emailed for those wishing not to wait for them to be mailed. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to get this accomplished. Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Community, Manvel, Texas ~page 5 “Merciful like the Father” Archdiocesan Art Contest Works of Mercy " The works of mercy are charitable actions by “ which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities."- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2447 Corporal Works of Mercy Feed the hungry Give drink to the thirsty Clothe the naked Shelter the homeless Visit the sick Visit the imprisoned Bury the dead Spiritual Works of Mercy Admonish the sinner Instruct the ignorant Counsel the doubtful Comfort the sorrowful Bear wrongs patiently Forgive all injuries Pray for the living and the dead The works of mercy give shape to the Church's desire to bring mercy to the world as a response to the mercy she has so freely and generously received from Christ. Since the whole human person is the subject of God's loving mercy, both body and soul, the works of mercy are oriented towards both the physical and spiritual necessities of the human person. In living the works of mercy, the Church shares in God's action in the world, namely, the restoration, protection and affirmation of the full dignity of the person made in the image of God. For this reason the works of mercy are patterned after the life of Jesus Christ as he ministered to each human being, body and soul, in order to restore him to fullness of life. The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is holding an art contest to mark the Extraordinary Jubilee of the Year of Mercy. Anyone from ages 16 and above who resides in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is invited to submit their faith inspired artworks by April 15, 2016. The theme for this competition is “Merciful like the Father” inspired by the motto for the Holy Year. Visit http:// archgh.cvent.com/YOMArt or email [email protected] for more information. 'Y respondí: ¡Aquí me tienes, mándame a mí!'" (Isaías 6:8) Cada día- en maneras pequeñas y grandes - Dios nos pregunta, “¿A quién debo enviar?” Puede ser a alguien para que tome un nuevo ministerio o simplemente abrir una puerta a un extraño, Dios constantemente nos provee de puertas de oportunidad.
