Dear Friends in Christ:
Pope Francis said: “Most of all, I would like it
to enter every heart, for it is there that God
wants to sow this Good News: Jesus is risen,

power of sin, of evil! Love has triumphed,
mercy has been victorious! The mercy of God always triumphs!”
The Easter story of life and death is not an ancient story with an
out-dated message. It is not a fairytale. It is very much a story of
and for today, a story lived out day by day in church communities
and more broadly.
The Easter message of life’s triumph over death is as real today as
it was in Jesus’ time. We see again and again that the darkness of
struggle and pain, injury, loss and challenge, is not the end. Easter
is for us all. And it begins in love.

¡El amor ha triunfado, la misericordia ha salido victoriosa! ¡La misericordia de Dios siempre triunfa! En la Pascua, la historia de la vida y de la muerte no es una historia con un
mensaje fuera de nuestro tiempo. No es un cuento de hadas. Es una
verdadera historia de hoy y para hoy. Una historia que se vive día
con día en nuestras comunidades dentro de la iglesia.
El mensaje de Pascua del triunfo de la vida sobre la muerte es tan
real hoy día como lo fue en el tiempo de Jesús. Vemos una y otra
vez la lucha entre la obscuridad y la luz, entre el dolor y la esperanza, entre la justicia y la injusticia, entre la perdida y el desafío. Este
no es el final. La Pascua es para todos nosotros. Y empieza en el
amor.

St. John’s Annual Parish Festival/Fiesta Annual de Primavera de San Juan
Raffle tickets, sponsored by Pierce Brothers/
Funeraria del Angel, will start selling this
weekend. $1 per ticket or a book for $10. All
the money raised from the raffle will help
with some needed church maintenance and
improvement projects this summer.

tickets. Since we are not mailing the books,
we hope you will be generous and purchase

will go even further as the Feinstein Foundation
