Christmas Card Sale
All Glory and Praise
St. Mary teens are selling Christmas Cards after each
Mass as a fundraiser for those going to the Steubenville
San Diego Conference. The design of the Christmas
Card is a beautiful picture of St. Mary’s very own
manger scene. The cards will be sold in bags of 5 cards
for $10 per bag. All proceeds go directly to those who
are selling. Please direct your questions to Leslie Jones
at 541-953-7823 or [email protected].
The Feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
is the final Sunday in the liturgical year. The First Sunday
of Advent begins a new Church year. It is fitting that the
Church celebrates Christ the King on this final Sunday of
the year because Christ’s central mission was to proclaim
the presence of the reign of God here and now and forever.
We believe that Christ is King, not in an earthly sense;
rather He is the Anointed One (in Hebrew Messiah), the
Savior of the World. White vestments are worn at Mass on
this feast to symbolize Christ’s victory over death and
eternal life. The white garment we are given at baptism at
the beginning of our lives and the white pall laid over the
coffin at our time of death are reflections of our own victory
over death in Christ. Alleluia, Alleluia!

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat
For some, it may seem like their abortion is an event totally
left in the past, yet vast evidence shows that abortion has
long-lasting, life-altering affects in the lives of women and
men who have experienced it. To feel, deal, and heal from
abortion(s), attend a life-changing Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat.

St. Mary Conference of
St. Vincent de Paul
St. Mary Conference of Saint Vincent de Paul is in
desperate need of men and women who are physically strong
enough to visit the needy. Jesus taught us to love the poor
and tend to their needs. We teach that we can see Jesus in
the face of each precious child of God we visit. We never visit
the poor alone, but in pairs of two. At our meetings, we study
the word of God and the teachings of St. Vincent de Paul.
We pray for those we have visited and our own members.
We report on the visits we have made and where we are
financially.
This plea has become necessary because the majority of
our present members, who have faithfully served for many
years, are now older. Pray for us that God will bless us with
new members. You will receive all the necessary training you
will need to be effective Vincentians.
For more information, call our president Ray Evans at 541968-7859 or just show up at our meetings on the first and
third Tuesdays of the month at 5:30 pm in the St. Joseph
room next to the Adoration Chapel.
3 Great Ways to Give Thanks
~ Instead of focusing on what we have been given, this
Thanksgiving focus on the eternal Giver – God our Father.
Go to Mass as a family on Thanksgiving morning and give
thanks for His love and mercy.
~ Gather brightly colored leaves, acorns and mums for an
autumn centerpiece. Find smooth white or gray rocks and
paint the names of your loved ones who have died on them,
and then include them in the center of your table.
~ Our culture has convinced us that the week after
Thanksgiving should be dedicated to shopping. Instead of
buying more “stuff” this week, talk as a family about ways
you want to spend time with the people you love in the
coming month of December. Who needs a visit? How might
you connect with a family who has fallen on economically
difficult times?
Catholic Campaign for Human
Development
The collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human
Development (CCHD) provides funding for groups that
make lasting change and uplift the poor in the United
States.
CCHD’s grants improve education, support
economic development, and create affordable housing in
low-income neighborhoods. Help us continue to defend
human dignity and build communities of solidarity. Please
give to the CCHD Collection.
Catholic Community Services
Help those in need during the holidays through Catholic
Community Services. Donate warm clothes, shoes and
socks at either of our two locations (1464 W. 6th in Eugene
or 1025 G St. in Springfield). Take a ‘snowman’ ornament
off the Giving Tree at Valley River Center, donate online to
our utility assistance programs, www.CCSLC.org, or
volunteer when we give out Christmas treats on December
23rd at both sites. Contact Sarah, Outreach Coordinator at
541-345-3628, ext. 330.
Ducks Give Back
Join the University of Oregon men’s basketball team to
raise money for St. Mary Catholic Church while cheering on
the Ducks! For every ticket sold by referral from St. Mary
Catholic Church for the Duck game vs. Stanford on Sunday,
January 10, 2016 at 7:00 pm, St. Mary Catholic Church will
receive $4 back. To get your tickets, call Ryan Lane at the
University of Oregon Athletic Department at 541-346-8453.
Ministry of Healing Prayer
The Ministry of Healing Prayer is a resource for anyone
going through a difficult time. It is a confidential time of
prayer for any individual seeking the consoling and healing
effects of prayer, scripture and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit
be it physical, emotional, relational or spiritual. For more
information, please contact Molly at 541-687-2529 or Sally at

Si has marcado bien el verso importante
para la doctrina en cuestión, sobresaldrá
inmediatamente cuando te encuentres a uno o dos
capítulos de este.
