The Estancia borders the Arroyo and the Laguna Jose Ignacio, which meet the Southern AtlanLc just two kilometers away. The Spanish colonial-­‐style building is a 50,000 square foot structure designed by Marcelo Daglio and the owners. The expansive paLos feature outdoor seaLng areas, sculpture installaLons, respites from the sun and a large herb garden. The south side of the Estancia boasts a large grass covered garden and 20 meter pool made of Absolute Nero stone. The boTom of the pool is doTed with fiber opLc lights, which mirror the constellaLons above. The arLsts featured throughout Estancia Vik are celebrated for their vision and individuality. Each has been selected by the retreat’s owners through their involvement with art in Uruguay over many years, and in partnership with Marcelo Daglio and curator Enrique Badaró Nadal. Some highlights include the Estancia’s vast central living room which showcases a statuary white marble sculpture by world renowned Pablo Atchugarry; standing 3.5 meter or 12 feet tall. The acclaimed Uruguayan sculptor’s creaLon rises to meet the 300 square meter ceiling and frieze painted by Clever Lara, another leading Uruguayan contemporary arLst. This work is a “satellitescape” view of Jose Ignacio and Uruguay, inspired by Google Earth. Eight very large semi-­‐precious stones in their natural state hang from the walls between sets of glass doors, which the owners discovered in the far north of Uruguay. Colorist Carlos Musso has painted the Estancia’s unique garden chapel in his beauLfully spiritual manner. These are just a few examples of what has become the central theme of the Estancia. POLO RULES. The handicap is defined by the sum of players enrolled handicap divided by the number of players. The OrganizaLon reserves the exclusive right to assemble each of the parLcipaLng teams on the basis of handicap resulLng from the aforemenLoned equaLon. The OrganizaLon shall ensure balanced and fair condiLons among the contenders. HANDICAP. It is mandatory that persons wishing to enter the tournament are enrolled in any associaLon of polo in the World. Players must be registered handicap. They must also have a personal health care insurance and sign a declaraLon of indemnity. MATCHES. Polo matches consist of 5 chukkers. CUPS & PRIZES. All players and teams will receive their own medals as a recogniLon to their parLcipaLon at the compeLLon. There will also be gold, silver and bronze cups as well as special prizes.
