O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are His judgments, and how unsearchable His ways! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been His counselor? Or who hath first given to Him, and recompense shall be made Him? For of Him, and by Him, and in Him, are all things: to Him be glory for ever. Amen. GOSPEL: Mt. 28:18-20 † Continuation of the holy Gospel according to St. Matthew. At that time Jesus said to His disciples: All power is given to Me in Heaven and on earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world. August Queen of the Heavens, And Sovereign Mistress of the Angels, Thou who from the beginning Hast received from God The power and the mission To crush the head of Satan, we humbly beseech Thee, To send Thy Holy Legions, so that under Thy Command and through Thy power, They may pursue the demons, and combat them everywhere, Suppress their boldness, and drive them back into the abyss. Who is like God? O good and tender Mother, Thou wilt always be our love and hope! O Divine Mother, send Thy Holy Angels to defend me, and to drive far away from me The cruel enemy. Holy Angels and Archangels, Defend us, guard us. Amen. Institute of Christ the King Young Adult Summer Camp Join Catholic young adults ages 18-35 for the first annual Sursum Corda summer camp under the direction of the priests of the Institute of Christ the King from July 8th-11th This 4 day gathering will foster spiritual growth and formation in a fun, friendly atmosphere. There will be daily Mass and night prayer, spiritual conferences by Institute priests, a boat tour of Lake Michigan, a visit to the Public Museum, square dancing, dinner in Historic Old Milwaukee, and many other activities in and around Milwaukee, WI. Space is limited. Registration deadline: June 30. For details and registration, visit http://www.institute-christ-king.org/summer-camp/ THIS WEEKEND SECOND COLLECTION FOR OUR AC SYSTEM! The Joys and Sorrows of Our AC System: As you may have noticed, the temperature in the church has been elevated above the usual 77 degrees on Sundays despite the air conditioning system which was repaired last summer. I actually measured 84 degrees after one of the Masses. I had a technician from Baker Air Conditioning come to the church and check our system. He told me that our air conditioning units were modernized and fixed last year to a large extent, but that there was still one unit which needed major repair work. So far, we have only 75 percent of the AC working properly, and when the outside temperature reaches 100 degrees, our AC system is unable to cool the church sufficiently. The repair estimate from last year, which was submitted to me, amounts to $5,250.00. Knowing that the temperature will continue to rise over the summer months, and knowing how difficult it is, especially for our elderly faithful, children, and pregnant mothers to deal with high temperature levels, I have signed a contract to repair our AC system and to bring it up to 100 percent working capacity with Baker Air Conditioning. This is the company which originally installed our AC system, has done all the maintenance on the system, and modernized it to a large extent in 2010. I expect that this work will be accomplished by the end of June before the muggy monsoon season arrives. However, I also need to foresee being able to sign the check to pay for this important improvement and repair of our AC system. Holy Family Church has received rebates from the Diocesan-wide campaign “Our Faith, Our Hope, Our Future.” We currently have about $3,000 in restricted funds with the Diocese of Tucson which comes from these rebates. This money will be used to pay for part of the necessary AC repair. The remainder needs to be raised by us and I invite you to please participate generously in a second collection for this purpose. Our AC system collection will be on the weekend of June 18 and 19. I thank you for your participation and I am sure that we will all benefit from and enjoy the better air conditioning which we expect to have by the end of the month. CONFESSIONS - IMPORTANT REQUESTS We would ask you to please line up for Confession along the east side wall of the Church, the side where the large wooden crucifix is situated. Please do not stand next to the Confessional doors in order to give more privacy to those in the confessional. Please rehearse with your children, if necessary, the Act of Contrition. Please do this in your next catechism class which you are giving them. You are asked to please kneel in the Confessional! The chair should be used only by those who have difficulty kneeling! Kneeling is an act of humility before God Almighty Whom we have offended by our sins. Volunteers needed for the San Martin de Porres Meal Program at our church We still need additional volunteers to help with the San Martin de Porres Meal Program. We are looking for faithful who can commit to a specific day and supervise the volunteers who come to help. They will also receive a key for the church basement hall to open and close it for the meal program. You are invited to contact the Parish office to sign up for any day: Sunday or Friday at 4:00 pm: sack lunch distribution; Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.: hot meal served in the church basement hall. Your initiative counts and is appreciated! Please do not gather in the back of the church, especially after the Thursday evening Mass and after the Sunday Masses. Please check your cell-phone before Holy Mass begins and turn it off before you enter the church! Please never answer phone calls in church, especially NOT during the liturgy! We are obliged to honor and respect Christ’s presence in the Eucharist!
