“You cannot serve both God and mammon.” Luke 16:13
REFLECTION
CONFIRMATION MEETINGS
FEAST OF SAN LORENZO RUIZ
REFLECCIÓN DOMINICAL
With all the media coverage of finances and markets and
money, the last thing most of us might want to hear in church
is more money talk. Yet that is what our God has invited us
here for today. As you might expect, Jesus has some interesting things to say. In particular, he encourages us to use our
wealth and resources for the benefit of others. So perhaps
our prayer today can be for the humility to recognize that
what we have is not ours but God’s, and for the grace to be
able to share it with our sisters and brothers.
Faith Formation classes are about to start. Please note
that this week there will be two parent meetings for students enrolled in Confirmation classes—Tuesday, September 24 for NDS students and Wednesday, September
25 for non-NDS students. Both will be held at 5:30 p.m. in
the church. Thank you for your participation.
Please join Bishop Jaime Soto in celebrating the 2nd Annual Diocesan-wide Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz at Our Lady
of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 2700 Dover Avenue, Fairfield
on Saturday, September 28 at 9:45 a.m. Procession, entertainment and food will follow the Mass. Lunch tickets are
available for $6. Novena and Masses will be held at selected
parishes starting September 19. For further information
please call Wally or Suki LaForga at 450-6298.

the Walk for Life! Join fellow Catholics and Pro-Lifers
from all over California and beyond as we stand up for the
littlest among us at the tenth annual Walk for Life West

Walk drew 40,000+ people and eleven Catholic bishops
and a personal message from then Pope Benedict XVI! To
reserve your seat on the bus or for more information,
contact My Catacutan at (707) 332-2886 or email [email protected].

Many thanks to Benita Gomez, who donated flowers this

toward the beauty of our Masses.
St. Joseph parishioners! Would you like to see more
flowers adorn our church throughout the year? Consider
making a donation to the flower ministry by using the envelopes provided in the narthex kiosk. Help us celebrate
the love of our Lord Jesus Christ by making His place of
worship look beautiful all year long. For more information, see the pamphlet in the narthex kiosk. Thank you for
your support.
