El próximo mes de Agosto tendrá lugar la octava edición del Laboratorio de Arquitectura y
Paisaje, organizado por RCR Bunka Fundación y RCR Arquitectes. El curso está dirigido a
arquitectos y estudiantes, contando anualmente con más de sesenta participantes venidos
de veinte países diferentes. El Laboratorio está acreditado por la Escuela Técnica Superior
de Arquitectura de Barcelona (UPC Barcelona-Tech), y cuenta con la colaboración de la
Universidad Nebrija de Madrid.
El workshop se centra en la vivencia de una experiencia directa de los participantes, dando
a conocer el territorio donde ha arraigado la obra de RCR, con el objetivo de entender su
relación con el lugar y el paisaje, a la vez de compartir y transmitir una actitud ante la vida,
la arquitectura y la creatividad, que ha llevado consigo RCR durante su trayectoria, poniendo
en práctica sus métodos de trabajo, reflexionando y desarrollando proyectos de Arquitectura
y Paisaje.
El curso se desarrolla en el Espai Barberí (Olot, España), un lugar compartido entre la sede
de RCR y las actividades culturales organizadas por la Fundación Bunka. El Espai Barberí es
una antigua fundición artística recuperada por RCR, siendo la oportunidad de vivir durante un
mes en un espacio donde se refleja su pensamiento y arquitectura. Este lugar inspirador es
el punto de encuentro de los participantes y donde se imparten también las conferencias del
curso.
El curso se complementa con un ciclo de conferencias, contando en la presente edición con
la participación, entre otros, de Ángela García de Paredes e Ignacio Pedrosa (ParedesPedrosa
Arquitectos), Ana y Eugeni Bach (Arquitectos) y Pedro Gadanho (MoMA Curator of Contemporary
Architecture).
Como en las ediciones anteriores, el Espai Barberí tendrá abiertas sus puertas programando
exposiciones y actividades en paralelo, con el objetivo de fomentar el encuentro creativo
durante este mes de Agosto. En esta edición tendrá lugar el tercer Workshop Internacional de
Audiovisual y Fotografía, coordinado por Júlia de Balle y con la colaboración del prestigioso
fotógrafo japonés Hisao Suzuki y el teórico de cine Ivan Pintor.
También, en motivo de la coincidencia de este curso con la exposición que tiene lugar en
el Palau Robert de Barcelona (Marzo-Setiembre) titulada ‘Creatividad Compartida. RCR
Arquitectes’, se organiza en el Espai Barberí, durante el transcurso del workshop, el Foro RCR,
un encuentro para compartir las diferentes experiencias profesionales de arquitectos que han
formado parte del equipo de RCR Arquitectes, con el objetivo de convertirse en una fiesta de
rencuentro y celebración, cerrando el curso en una visita conjunta a la exposición del Palau
Robert en Barcelona.

Next August will be the eighth edition of the Laboratory of Architecture and Landscape,
organized by Bunka Foundation and RCR Arquitectes. The course is aimed at architects
and students, with over 60 participants annually from over twenty different countries. The
laboratory has the accreditation by the Barcelona School of Architecture (UPC-Barcelona
Tech), and has the support of the Nebrija University from Madrid.
The Laboratory encourages a collaborative experience of the participants, while they explore
territory, build knowledge of the site, develop an understanding of relationship with place
and the landscape and ultimately develop research projects of Architecture and Landscape.
Through this, participants will share and understand the attitude towards life, architecture
and creativity of RCR which has bene evident during their career.
The Laboratory takes place in the Espai Barberí (Olot, Spain), shared between headquarters
RCR and cultural activities organized by the Bunka Foundation. The Espai Barberí is an ancient
foundry recovered by RCR. This is an opportunity to live for a month in a space that reflects the
thinking and Architecture of RCR. This inspiring place is the meeting point of the participants
and where all lectures and events will be held.
This year’s lectures will be given by, Ángela García de Paredes and Ignacio Pedrosa
(ParedesPedrosa Architects), Anna and Eugeni Bach (Architects), Pedro Gadanho (MoMA
Curator of Contemporary Architecture) alongside others.
Also in August, the Espai Barberí will open its doors for a number of additional events and
activities to run in parallel with the Laboratory. All of which will be available for the Participants
of the Laboratory to experience. This year will be the 3rd edition of the International Audiovisual
and Photography Workshop, coordinated by Júlia de Balle, will feature the collaboration of
prestigious Japanese Photographer, Hisao Suzuki and the film theorist Ivan Pintor.
In the wake of ´Shared Creativity. RCR Arquitectes´ an exhibition of the work of RCR, held at
the Palau Robert in Barcelona (March-September), ´The RCR Forum´ will take place during the
Laboratory. This will be meeting and reunion of professional architects who have been part of
RCR in the past and present, aiming to share experiences, celebrate and reflect on of their time
during and after RCR.
Applications for the Laboratory are open until May 31.
