Lifelong Faith Focus on the Gospel:
Mark 9:30-37. Today Jesus, the Master Teacher, brings His lesson home
with a living parable. He picks up a
child—a totally dependent person
with no status—and proclaims that anyone who receives one like this in His name receives not only Him,
but “the One who sent Me.” Oftentimes when we read
this Gospel, we think we must be a like a little child to
be received by God. But Jesus’ points us to something
more—everything that a child is: vulnerable, no status,
totally dependent on others for their well-being, and
more. Think about everyone you know or know about
in today’s society who is just like that. It’s probably
someone right in your midst that you may have overlooked, made fun of, rejected or ridiculed because they
had no status. None whatsoever. It’s not always the
child, the immigrant, the elderly or the infirm that come
to us looking for acceptance and love. It’s often someone right in front of you. These are the ones that Jesus
loves. How do you feel about them?

RE Catechists - Support the catechists of this parish by
joining us for our first annual breakfast to raise funds for
the University of Dallas Ministry Conference. Every week
these dedicated volunteers come and share their faith with
the children of our parish. This Ministry Conference is
designed to help form them into even better catechists.
Help us show our appreciation for them by joining us for
breakfast after all the morning masses on September 23,
in the school cafeteria. All proceeds will go to registering
as many catechists as possible for this year’s conference!

Class: Mini-CPR/AED Class. Have you ever wanted to
know what to do, but didn’t have time for the (4) hour CPR
class? Well this is it! Taught by one of our local heroes.
Farmers Branch Fire Dept.’s Gabriel Vargas will teach (1)
session of CPR/AED applications usage class on Friday,
September 28th from 11:15 a.m.— 12:00 noon. Meet in
the Church Narthex. Free of charge.

Raffle Tickets are on sale each weekend for $5 each or 5
for $20. Prizes include: 1st, $4500 in AMEX Gift Cards;
2nd, $3500 in AMEX Gift Cards; 3rd, $2000 in AMEX Gift
Cards and 4th, an Apple iPad. Be sure to bring your return
address labels when you buy your raffle tickets.
Donations: Stop by the Donations Wish List table to signup for much needed Fall Festival Supplies. These donations help offset the expense of the parish’s biggest party of
the year!
Save Those Toys! We are collecting, new, small toys to be
used as prizes during the Festival. Examples of toys to donate are those from fast food restaurants. We could also
use larger toys. Donation boxes are in the church (near the
office) during the month of September.
La Loteria game - We are also collecting items for prizes
for a bingo game that is played primarily by adults. The
prizes are new/used inexpensive household items, such as
home decorations, kitchen towels, and picture frames. It is
a great chance to clean out your closets or “re-gift” something that you have received but don’t use. If you have any

are registered in Mary Immaculate Parish and who
contribute at least $800 to Mary Immaculate Parish during

La Fe de Toda la Vida
Centrada en el Evangelio:
Marcos 9, 30-37.
Hoy el Maestro Jesús nos enseña
una lección con una parábola viviente. Trae a un niño - una persona totalmente dependiente,
sin ningún estatus social - y proclama que cualquiera que
reciba a uno de estos niños, en Su nombre no solamente
lo recibe a El, sino “a aquel que me ha enviado”. Muchas
veces cuando leemos este pasaje del Evangelio pensamos que debemos ser como los niños para recibir a Dios.
Pero Jesús señala algo más - todo lo que un niño representa: vulnerable, sin estatus social, totalmente dependiente de otros para su bienestar y mucho más.
Piensa acerca de todas las personas que tu conoces en
la sociedad de hoy en día que tienen estas características. Probablemente es alguien cercano a ti, a quien no
le has prestado atención, le has hecho burla, relegado o
ridiculizado porque no tienen ningún estatus social. Ninguno. No solamente puede ser un niño sino un inmigrante, una persona mayor, o el débil que busca que lo acepten y quieran. Siempre es alguien muy cerca de ti. Estos
son los que Jesús ama. ¿Cómo te sientes tu hacia ellos?

Catequistas de Educación Religiosa - Apoye a nuestras
catequistas de la Parroquia participando en nuestro primer
desayuno anual para recaudar fondos para inscripciones
en la Conferencia de Ministerios de la Universidad de
Dallas. Cada semana este grupo de dedicados voluntarios
vienen y comparten su fe con los niños de nuestra
Parroquia. La Conferencia de Ministerios está diseñada
especialmente para ayudarles en su formación y así sean
cada vez mejores catequistas. Ayúdenos a mostrarles
nuestro aprecia participando en los desayunos después de

La Escuela de María Inmaculada está aceptando

Septiembre a las 9:00 am para posibles estudiantes y sus
familias. Para hacer una cita para visitar la escuela o si

Gracias a todos los que están usando las TARJETAS
RECARGABLES DE KROGER. La parroquia se ha
beneficiado con más de $33,333 desde que este programa
empezó. El mes pasado 23 familias contribuyeron con
$395. Si cada familia comprara solamente $100 en comestibles, gasolina y/o prescripciones médicas al mes, usando
la tarjeta de Kroger, la parroquia podría beneficiarse con
$20,000 al mes. Las tarjetas están disponibles en la oficina
de la parroquia por $1.

Se ofrecen CLASES GRATUITAS DE ESL (Inglés como
segundo idioma) en María Inmaculada los martes y
viernes de 9:30 a 11:00 a.m. en el cuarto de reuniones.
