Notes from the Trail
Parent-Teacher Conferences, Thank you for coming out and conferencing with your student’s
teachers. Please know that you can always communicate via email and phone with our teachers, contact
information can be found on our school webpage.
Homework? A common question asked during conferences. In general terms, homework tends to be
relevant to the given learning activity versus a packet assigned for completion at home. Examples of
homework are when a student is studying for an assessment, completing a writing assignment, completing a
project, and reading to complete a class requirement. To that end, homework will vary based on the given
learning activity for each class. One of the best ways for a parent to stay informed of individual class
requirements is to review their student’s planner. Each student is required to write the day’s learning objective
and agenda/homework for each class.
Want to keep track of progress through Infinite Campus? Please contact our office at 303-655-4000 and we
will walk you through the steps.
FUNDRAISER PICK-UP. We will be sending all ordered items home with students on Thursday,
October 15th. Students will be called down during our last period (1:26-2:40 p.m.), to receive their items for
distribution as well as their prize(s). Most students will be able to transport their items home by themselves,
however, if your student has a large order please plan on assisting them.
October 16th, reminder that school is not in session.
Boys Basketball for 7th and 8th grade will begin on October 19th, please visit our school website for details.
SD27J All School Drill, Tuesday, October 20th. Please refer to attached flyer for details.
ACYI Survey/Healthy Schools Survey, On October 22nd students will participate in our annual Adams County
Youth Initiative Survey or Healthy Schools Survey. The goal of the two surveys is to maintain and improve the
health and well-being of our students. Please visit our school website for more details.
Spirit week will take place the week of October 26th and will culminate with a school dance on October 30th.
Please visit our school website for the theme for each day and exact times for our dance.

OTMS DADS! We would love to have as many ‘Dads’ hang out with us during lunch. Simply hang out and
assist in supervision…and be willing to throw the football, kick the soccer ball etc., and be a positive presence
for our students. We are asking for a minimum commitment of one day a week for a nine week period of time.
Please contact Mrs. Guadagnoli with your interest, 303-655-4000, and she will send you the volunteer
application.

¿Tarea? La tarea fue un tema de suma importancia durante las conferencias. En términos generales, la tarea
es relevante según la actividad o lección que tuvieron en clase y no necesariamente tiene que ser un paquete
de tarea. Algunos ejemplos de tarea será estudiar para una prueba, terminar un ensayo, terminar un proyecto
o leer para una clase. La tarea variará dependiendo de lo que el alumno haga en clase ese día. Una de los
métodos mejores para estar al tanto de la tarea del alumno, es revisándole el planificador (agenda). Cada
alumno debe de escribir el objetivo de aprendizaje del día y lo que se les asignó de tarea en términos

solicitar asistencia.
VENTA PARA LA RECAUDACIÖN DE FONDOS. Estaremos enviando los pedidos de compras con los
alumnos el jueves, 15 de octubre. Los alumnos recogerán los pedidos de sus ventas al igual que su premio(s),
durante su última clase del día de (1:26 a 2:40 p.m.). La mayoría de los alumnos podrá llevar los pedidos por
si solo a casa, pero le pedimos que le asista a su hijo si anticipa una orden grande de pedidos.

Baloncesto/ Basquetbol masculino de 7mo y 8vo grado Comenzará el 19 de octubre. Para más detalles

Encuestas El 22 de octubre, los alumnos participarán en el cuestionario anual de Adams County Youth
Initiative o en el cuestionario Healthy Schools. El propósito de estas dos encuestas es mejorar el bienestar y

La semana del orgullo escolar comenzará el 26 de octubre y terminará con un baile escolar el 30 de

¡Papás de Overland Trail! Nos gustaría tener a los “papás” en Overland Trail durante la hora del almuerzo.
Simplemente que asistan con la supervisión y que estén dispuestos a lanzar un balón de futbol americano,
patear una pelota de futbol soccer y ser un individuo positivo para nuestros alumnos. Le pedimos que se
comprometa como voluntario por un mínimo de 9 semanas. Si está interesado comuníquese con la Sra.
Guadagnoli al 303-655-4000 y ella le dará una solicitud.
