Knowing, Living and Sharing Our Faith
4th Sunday in Lent—Year C
This Sunday’s Gospel is one of the greatest mercy stories of all time. The
very term Prodigal Son instantly reminds us that God is a loving Father—
always welcoming and ready to forgive. But there is an “older brother” in
all of us that fails to understand mercy, and that would rather see an
offender rejected. That, as this Gospel teaches, is simply not the way the
Father acts.
Pray Together
Plan a simple forgiveness service for the family.
Let each person in the family mention one thing for which he or she wants
to ask forgiveness. End the service by saying the Our Father together.

Be a part of our outreach to the homeless: Holy Thursday Offering
Ayuda a las personas indigents: Ofrenda de Jueves Santo
From ancient times, the poor have been especially served on
Holy Thursday connecting to Jesus' words about serving our
brothers and sisters, during the Washing of the Feet.
This year when you prepare to come to Holy Thursday Mass of
the Lord's Supper (March 24th), we ask you to bring items for
the homeless. We suggest that you take a quart-size Ziploc
freezer bag and place the following (travel size) items in it:
Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Small Soap, Shampoo, Lotion, Comb,
Toothbrush. (Socks may be given separately.)
You will be invited to place your gift for the poor in a large
basket at the Offertory of the Mass.
Ustedes serán invitados a entregar sus donaciones durante el
Ofertorio de la Misa de Jueves Santo.

This multilingual walking prayer is a moving experience that
includes scripture readings, reflections, prayer and music
as we remember the passion of Christ and the social
injustices in our world today. The 2 mile route is considered
wheel chair accessible, but please keep in mind that not all
of the sidewalks along the route are smooth or wide.
The pilgrimage will begin at the Shrine of the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, located at 48 Martin Luther
King, Jr. Drive, SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. We will gather
at 8:45 a.m. to begin our journey with opening prayer and a
reflection at 9:00 a.m. by Archbishop Wilton Gregory. We
will conclude at the crypt of Martin Luther King, Jr. and
Coretta Scott King with reflection and closing prayer.
Buses will be available to return participants to the Shrine.
We encourage carpooling or public transportation as
parking is limited.
Please contact Kat Doyle, Director of Justice & Peace
Ministries, at [email protected] for more information or
to volunteer. All are welcome!
