MUMFORD HOME BULLETIN
AR Penny Drive: One day left in April and for the AR penny drive. We will be announcing which class brought in the
most money next week! The race is very close between the classes to see who brings in the most money for the
Penny Drive, so bring it in to the last day! The winning class will receive a popcorn and movie party!
6th and 7th Grade “Worth the Wait” Meeting: Today, Tuesday, April 30th at 5:00 Mrs. Smart will hold a parent
meeting in her classroom to discuss with parents the “Worth the Wait”, Scott and White program. Students should
not attend this meeting. She will be reviewing the curriculum and answering questions parent may have on the
program that the students will begin in May.
Senior Scholarships Due: The Mumford Boosters and the Wilson Drug Scholarships have just been posted ion the
HS office, come pick them up as well as any other scholarships available to students. This Wednesday, May 1st
scholarship forms are due for the American Legion Scholarship at 1:00 and interviews will take place at that time.
The NAACP scholarships are also due on Wednesday, May 1st, ALL students are eligible to apply. On Friday, May 10th
the Walnut Creek and Navasota Valley Electric Company scholarships are DUE!
Picture Day: Pictures will be taken for tennis, softball and baseball teams on Wednesday, May 1st. This will include
team and individual pictures.
Jr. Sr. Prom: On Saturday, May 4th the junior class will host the prom for the senior class from 8:00 – 11:00pm
in the Mustang Room. The prom is only for students in the junior or senior class and their guests. If you invite
someone that is not in the Mumford junior or senior class you will need to fill out a guest form. Dance forms
can be picked up in the HS office; Forms are due to Ms. McDonough by Wednesday, May 1st by 5:00 pm and
money for guest’s admission ($15) should also be turned in by Friday, May 3rd.
RC Elite Track Club Registration: If you would like to register your child for RC Elite Track Club Summer Track
and Field season, just come out to Wood Field on May 1st from 5 – 7 pm. An information sheet is available in the

Baseball Playoffs: Our boys have made the playoffs for the 1st time and we invite everyone to come out and cheer
them on in their game! We will play Flatonia in a best of 3 game bi-district match up.

Game 2 – Friday, May 3 @ 5:00 – In Mumford; Game 3 will follow – if needed.

HS Sports Banquet: Mark your calendars now; we will be having a sports banquet honoring all HS level sports on
Tuesday, May 21st at 6:00 pm. Be looking for more information in the coming weeks.
Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance Reward Event: We will be holding our own reward events for
perfect attendance and Gold honor roll. We will treat the kids to a movie, pizza, popcorn and drink during next
week. 9 – 12th grade will be on Tuesday, May 7th, 6 – 8th grade on Wednesday, May 8th, 3 – 5th grade on
Thursday, May 9th and Pre K – 2nd will have their reward event on Monday, May 13.
AP Calculus: Students that are taking AP Calculus will be taking the AP Calculus test on Wednesday, May 8th. If
payment is still owed then this money is due by Tuesday, May 7th.
Field Day: On Friday, May 10th we will have our annual Field Day! Fun is involved for all students. The Pre k
students will be having their Field Day in the Primary Building and grades K – 5th will be having their activities
throughout the school grounds. Students in grades 6 – 12th will be having their annual Basketball
Tournament in the HS gym. Field Day begins after breakfast! Early Release: School dismisses at
12:00 this day!
Field Day Concessions: On field day the cheerleaders will have the concession stand open. All snacks will be $1.00
and popcorn is $1.25. Drinks will be $1.50. The best deal will be the Mumford Spirit Special for only $2.50; you will
get a drink, and a tub of popcorn! Refills on drinks and popcorn are $.75. During the time to buy concessions, the soda
machines will not be allowed to be used.
Hat Day: Sophomores will be sponsoring hat day. If you bring $1.00 to school on field day -- you can wear a hat all
day! Students will be picking up money from your homeroom on Friday and handing out wrist bracelets to those who
pay a dollar!
Early Dismissals: Mark your calendars now; we will have several early outs in the month of May. On Friday, May 10th
school will be dismissed at 12:00, on Friday, May 17th school will be dismissed at 1:00 and on Thursday, May 30th
dismissal is at 12:00 noon.

BOLETÍN CASERO de MUMFORD
Coleccion de Fondos de AR: Nada mas queda un día en abril y de nuestra Colección de Fondos para AR (“AR Penny Drive”). ¡La
competencia para saber cual clase trajo la mayoría de dinero está muy feroz! ¡La clase que gane conseguirá una fiesta de palomitas y
con película!
Encuentro de 6º y 7º Grados: “Vale la Pena Esperarse”: Hoy martes 30 de abril a las 5:00 la Sra. Smart tendra una junta
en su salon con padres para hablar sobre el programa de Scott and White llamado “Worth the Wait” (“Vale la Pena Esperar”).
Estudiantes no deben assistir a esta reunión. Ella repasará el plan de estudios y respondera a las preguntas que tengan los padres
sobre el programa que los estudiantes comenzarán en mayo.
Becas de Seniors se Vencen: Las becas de Boosters de Mumford y de Wilson Drugs acaban de ser puestos la oficina de la HS.
Ven y recoge aplicaciones para estas becas asi como para otras más que están disponibles para todos los estudiantes. Este miércoles
1 de mayo son debidas aplicaciones de la beca de American Legion a las 1:00 y entrevistas ocurrirán a ese tiempo. Las aplicaciones de
las becas de NAACP son también debidas el miércoles 1 de mayo. TODOS los estudiantes son elegibles. El viernes 10 de mayo las
becas de Walnut Creek y de Navasota Valley Electric Company se TIENEN QUE ENTREGAR.
Día de Fotos: Fotos serán tomadas de los equipos de tenis, softbol, y béisbol el miércoles 1 de mayo. Esto incluirá fotos de equipo
e individuales.
Jr. Sr. Prom: El sábado 4 de mayo la clase Junior patrocinara el baile de gala juventil (“Prom”) para la clase Senior de 8:00 a
11:00pm en el salon Mustang. El Prom es solamente para estudiantes en la clase Junior o Senior y sus huéspedes. Si invitas a
alguien que no está en la clase Senior o Junior de Mumford necesitarás llenar una forma de huésped. Formas de huespedes se
pueden recoger en la oficina de la HS. Estan son debidas con la Sra. McDonough antes de las 5: 00 P. M. del miércoles mayo 1 .
Dinero de la admisión del huésped ($15) se tiene que dar para el viernes 3 de mayo.
Registración para el Club de Pista y Campo: Si usted quiere registrar a su niño/a con el club RC Elite de Pista y Campo para la
temporada del verano vengan a Wood Field mayo 1 de 5 a 7pm. Una hoja de información está disponible en la oficina. Para más

Playoffs de Béisbol: ¡Nuestros muchachos han llegado a los playoffs por primera vez e invitamos a todos a venir a animarlos en su
juego! Jugaremos contra Flatonia en una serie de mejor de 3 juegos.

▪ Juego 2 - Viernes 3 de mayo a las 5:00 - En Mumford, Juego 3 seguirá - si es necesario.
Banquete de Deportes: Marquen sus calendarios hoy. Tendremos un Banquete en el que honraremos a todos nuestros deportes de
la HS el martes mayo 21 a las 6:00pm. Mantenganse pendientes para recibir mas informacion mas adelante.
Evento de Recompensa de la Lista de Honor y Atendencia Perfecta: Llevaremos a cabo nuestro eventos de de
recompensa para atendencia perfecta y la lista de de honor. Trataremos a los pequeños a una película, una pizza, palomitas y
una bebida durante la semana próxima. Grados del 9 al 12 será el martes mayo 7. Grados 6 al 8 será el miércoles mayo 8,
grados 3 al 5 será el jueves mayo 9. Grados Pre-K al 2tendrans su recompensa el lunes 13 de mayo.
Cálculo AP: Estudiantes que están tomando cálculo AP tomarán la prueba de esta clase el miércoles 8 de mayo. Si todavía se debe
dinero para este examen se tiene que entregar antes del martes 7 de mayo.
Día del campo: ¡El viernes 10 de mayo tendremos nuestro día anual de campo! La diversión es para todos los estudiantes.
Estudiantes de Pre-K tendrán su día de campo en el edificio primario y grados K al 5 tendrán sus actividades por
toda la escuela. Estudiantes en los grados 6 al 12 tendrá su torneo anual de baloncesto en el gym de la HS. ¡El día
de campo comienza después del desayuno! Salida Temprana: ¡Saldremos de la escuela a las 12:00 este día!
Tienditas del Día de Campo: Las porristas tendrán las tienditas abiertas durante el Dia de Campo. Todas las botanas se
venderán a $1.00, palomitas a $1.25, y bebidas a $1.50. Tendremos una oferta especial de soda y palomitas por solo $2.50. Los
repuestos de bebidas y palomitas son $0.75. Durante el tiempo que estén abiertas las tienditas las máquinas de soda no serán
permitidas ser utilizadas.
Día del Sombrero: Estudiantes Sophomores (grado 10) patrocinarán el Día del Sombrero. Si usted trae $1.00 a la escuela el día
del campo -- ¡usted puede usar un sombrero todo el día! ¡Estudiantes recogerán el dinero de los salones el viernes y repartirán
pulseras a los que paguen su dólar!
Despidos Tempranos: Marque sus calendarios ahora. Tendremos varias salidas tempranas en el mes de mayo. El viernes 10 de
mayo la escuela será despedida a las 12:00. El viernes 17 de mayo la escuela será despedida a la 1:00. Y el jueves 30 de mayo el
despido será a las 12:00.
