5 5 celebraciones special celebrations Characteristics of the Perfect Woman No one is perfect, but some people may be better for you than others. In reality, there is no such thing as a perfect woman because, like men, every woman has strengths and weaknesses; if you’re looking for a woman to build a meaningful relationship with, always keep this in mind. You need to ask yourself what character flaws you are willing to deal with and help the woman improve on, if she’s willing, and what flaws you won’t accept. Another thing you shouldn’t do is choose a woman based just on her looks, her personality or even how she makes you feel. Instead, choose someone with integrity and loyalty. Self-Respect and Integrity o You first want to choose a woman who has self-respect and integrity. If the woman you’re interested in values herself enough to not allow you to treat her harshly and will tell you when you’re doing this, she is someone who would make a good partner. If you have a female friend who lives as she believes and is not wishywashy about her beliefs, she also is probably a good choice. Honesty and Loyalty o The right woman is honest and loyal to you. If a woman is honest enough to admit that her mistakes, this shows she can be honest about her mistakes in life. If a woman can stick by her good friend even if he is permanently disfigured due to an accident, this shows her commitment and loyalty. Physical Maintenance o Attractiveness also is a factor to consider when choosing the right woman. While the woman doesn’t have to be the carbon copy of a well-known female celebrity, she should care about her looks and be well-groomed. For example, if a woman often goes out with her hair messy or with clothes on that do not flatter her figure, this could mean that she doesn’t put much effort into grooming. However, it’s possible for you to date a woman in this situation and motivate her to care about grooming. Shared Interests and Values o It’s also important to date a woman who shares some similar interests and values as yourself. For example, if you value marriage and children, then you should establish a relationship with a woman who wants the same thing. INMIGRACION IMMIGRATION 14 TEXAS JUDGE PUTS BRAKES ON OBAMA’S IMMIGRATION PROGRAMS On February 16, 2015 a U.S. district judge in Texas placed a preliminary injunction on President Obama’s new deferred action programs. This means that there is a temporary block on applications for the new deferred action programs, which were announced on November 20, 2014. The decision does not affect the original deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) program started in 2012. The decision of the U.S. district judge in Texas is not a final decision. It is only a temporary injunction. The Obama administration will appeal the ruling to a higher court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. It will take several months before a final decision is made. We are confident the Obama administration will win in the end, either at the appeals court or possibly at the Supreme Court. By way of background, a total of 26 states joined in the lawsuit in the district court of Texas against the Obama administration after the President’s announcement on November 20, 2014. Idaho is one of the 26 states. These states argue that Obama’s actions are unconstitutional and violate the federal Administrative Procedure Act. In contrast, 12 states plus the District of Columbia, 33 cities, and police chiefs have filed legal arguments in support of Obama’s programs. These states and cities believe that the deferred action initiatives are beneficial to their communities. Further, polls indicate that a majority of the American public supports the Obama administration’s executive actions. Keep in mind that this decision is only a temporary one. Before the President created the deferred action programs, he sought detailed opinions from attorneys in the Department of Justice to make sure that he had the authority to act. He did research to make sure that what he was doing was within his power. The law is on the President’s side and we believe the decision will be overturned. 208-917-9184 sALUD HEALTH 16 What Vitamins Are Needed for Women After 30? After 30, women need vitamins that support heart health and reproduction and strengthen their bones. The vitamins women require after age 30 will help the body manage a wide variety of needs, such as reproduction, bone strength, and heart health. Although food is the best source of vitamins, supplementing with a multivitamin can assure a woman over 30 that she is receiving exactly what her body needs.Vitamins that provide the right amounts of folic acid (B9), vitamin D, and antioxidant vitamins (A,E, and C) are important additions. 1.Folic Acid Folic acid, also called folate or B9, plays a role in preventing birth defects. The fetus requires folic acid in its earliest stages of development, before a woman even knows she is pregnant, in many cases. Therefore, taking 400 to 800 mcg of folic acid daily (recommended by the National Women’s Health Information Center) is necessary for any woman who may become pregnant. Folic acid is found in small amounts in leafy vegetables, beans, whole grains, and citrus fruits and is often added to other foods to ensure that the American population ingests enough to maintain health. 2. Antioxidant Vitamins Antioxidant vitamins fight the oxidation or aging of the body. Antioxidant vitamins A, E, and C help women over 30 reinforce their cardiovascular health, keep the eyes healthy, and support the immune system.Vitamin C lowers blood pressure and moves fatty acids (good fats such as those found in fatty fish) into the heart muscles to provide energy in the body. Vitamin E is necessary to prevent the formation of blood clots, a cause of heart attack. Vitamin A aids in bone growth, vision, and keeping the immune system healthy. Combined, these antioxidants fight free radicals in the body to prevent signs of aging. Pregnant women or women with liver damage should always consult a physician before supplementing with vitamin A. Vitamin D Vitamin D helps strengthen bones and lower the risks of osteoporosis because it helps the body to absorb calcium.Vitamin D can be absorbed by the body when it is exposed to sunlight for 15 to 20 minutes in a 24-hour period. Vitamin D can be ingested by eating egg yolks or liver or drinking fortified milk. The recommended daily allowance for vitamin D for women between ages 30 and 50 is 200 IU. Older women or those identified with rapid bone-density loss will require more, but deciding how much more should occur under the direction of a physician. hecha un vistazo / take look 17 por bridgette redman Cómo tomar vacaciones con poco o ningún dinero Las vacaciones crean recuerdos, estrechan los lazos familiares y alivian el estrés de la vida cotidiana. Having little to no money to spend on a vacation doesn’t mean the fun has to be minimized. Fire up your creativity to make a low-budget vacation memorable and delightful for you and your family. 1. Be a tourist in your own town. Make a list of the attractions near home that you don’t visit in your day-to-day life. Put together a tour itinerary and visit local playhouses, museums, parks, sporting events and gardens. Take tours of historical buildings and visit farmers markets or unusual boutiques. Attend local events at your library or make a scavenger hunt. Plan your vacation around a local festival or fair and spend the day there. Create a passport for each of your family members that you can stamp as you visit each locale. Make it a multi-day vacation and let everyone camp out in the living room. Stay up late and read local stories out loud to each other. 2. Be an exchange tourist. Arrange with a family in another state to trade homes for a week. Prepare an agenda for them of local attractions they can visit and leave a welcoming basket for them. Stay in their home for a week and visit the attractions near their home. Choose inexpensive but memorable attractions such as state parks, historical monuments, beaches or caves. Be sure to leave their home clean and in at least as good of shape as you found it. 3. Gather the family around a campfire in the evening and tell ghost stories, find constellations in the sky or listen for night animals. 4. Visit friends and family. Plan a car trip in which you spend a day or two with out-of-town family members you rarely see. Bring batches of cookies or homemade bread as hospitality gifts. Instead of dining out, suggest the family cook a meal together with everyone contributing a dish, even the young kids. Play family games, yard sports or cards and take lots of pictures. 5.
