“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the
heavens” (Eph. 1:3). Our conference was truly filled with spiritual blessings! We thank God for the outpouring of the Holy
Spirit, and we are thankful for all the people who served the
Lord in making it such a blessing. Many people spoke positively about the conference being at St. Mary Magdalen Church.
Our plan is to have it there next year. Let us continue to seek
the fire of the Holy Spirit. Sister Nancy told us that you start a

Discipleship from Fr. Bob Hogan, BBD.
The Activity of The Holy Spirit
1) Reveals that “Jesus is Lord” (1 Cor. 12:3), and we are to be his disciples. 2) Reveals God as “Abba­Father” (Romans 8: 14­17), and we are his children. 3) Creates “expectant faith” in us (Luke 11:9­ 13). 4) We are “baptized in the Holy Spirit” through the Messiah (Christ­Anointed One), Jesus 1) Paper which burns quickly, but not very long (the intoxicating

the Influence” of the Holy Spirit). Do you sense the call to support the work of charismatic renewal in the Archdiocese of San
Antonio? We need leadership in our prayer groups (present
and future leadership) that seeks and follows the guidance and
wisdom of the Spirit in taking practical steps for the group’s
ongoing growth. The Prayer Group Training sessions on
“Raising Up Prophets and Leaders” (March 29 and April 5 from
9-4 at CCCR) are one way to continue to grow in this practical
wisdom. It is important that present leaders know how to help
people to grow in prophetic/inspirational gifts in their group,
and know how to raise up new leadership so the group can continue, and grow even stronger. If you cannot attend these sessions, please contact Fr. Bob so that he (and a team from the
Center) can work with your group. I strongly encourage the core
leadership of prayer groups to seek the help that we can give
you from the Center.

5:45 pm.) at St. Mary Magdalen Church Fr. George Montague
and Fr. Bob Hogan will be celebrating their 50th and 25th anniversaries as priests with a Mass, and a reception afterwards in
the Church Hall. Bishop Tom Flanagan will be the main celebrant for the Mass. Fr. George and Fr. Bob are inviting all of
you who have been a support to us, to the Brothers of the Beloved Disciple, and to the Charismatic Renewal to join us for
this celebration. We would love to have you come to celebrate
with us God’s faithfulness and goodness. No RSVP is needed.

Prayer groups: Pray for struggling families
Loving father fill the hearts of all parents with love for their children. Give parents the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to
discipline and guide their children in a firm, but loving manner. Strengthen parents who are overwhelmed by parenthood. Teach them to turn to the Holy Spirit, and our Mother Mary’s intercession for the fruit of peace, patience,
and self-control. Give them the Spirit’s gift of understanding strength and counsel. Bring healing to the wounds,
hurts, and fears in the lives of family members. Bring a new creation of God’s presence, love, unity and peace. We
ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The monthly Service Committee meeting was overwhelmed with enthusiasm as we discussed the success of the
charismatic conference. We thank all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this year’s conference, English
and Spanish, a total success. We also commend Deacon Sony Arismendez for his hard work in coordinating the
Spring Workshops on March 29th & April 5th. I hope you attended the first workshop on the March 29, and have
grown through the raising up of prophets and leaders training and are ready to pass it on to your community.
The Service Council Coordinators are still working on adding new members to their ranks. I ask all the Prayer
Groups to make an effort to appoint a member of your group as your respective representative to the Service

The sun was shining, the birds were singing their songs of spring as two men
journeyed along the road to Emmaus that first Easter afternoon. They hadn’t experienced their Easter Joy until
their Lord (Jesus) revealed himself to them in the breaking of the bread. Praise The Lord! In my own journey to
Easter, my Easter Joy is usually set ablaze in the breaking of the bread at the Holy Thursday service where Jesus
gave the world the Holy Eucharist. I pray you have experienced your Easter Joy and are looking forward to the
birthday of the Church, “Pentecost”. This year the official CCCR sponsored Eve of Pentecost celebration will be
