First Reading: Isaiah 56:1, 6-7
The Lord wants all people to love and honor his
name. He says that those who honor him by obeying all of his laws will be “made joyful in my house
of prayer.”
Second Reading: Romans 11:13-15, 29-32
Paul describes his hopes that his fellow Jews will
follow the example of the Gentiles he has been
preaching to. He claims that just as God has mercy
for their disobedience, he wishes to show mercy to
the Jews as well.
Gospel: Matthew 15:21-28
A Canaanite woman begged Jesus to help her
daughter, who was being plagued by a demon. Jesus
at first refused her and said that “My mission is only
to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” The woman
was so persistent that Jesus said she had great faith
and then he healed her daughter.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Classes for the 2014-2015 Religious Education Academic Year
will begin on September 12-14,
2014. These will also be the orientation days for parents. Students need to be accompanied by at least one parent. For those receiving Confirmation this year, classes resume on September 2nd. For those receiving Confirmation on
October, 2015 classes will begin on November 6.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Registrations for the Religious Education year 20142015 are still open. To register your child, you need
to make an appointment in person or call the Rectory in advance. You will need your child’s baptismal
certificate at the moment of registration.
CONFESSIONS
Five Steps for a Good Confession
1. Examine your conscience.
2. Be sincerely sorry for your sins.
3. Confess your sins.
4. Resolve to amend your life.
5. After your confession, do the penance the
priest assigns.

ADEQUATE ATTIRE FOR MASS
The Eucharist calls for adequate attire: Festive, since
the Eucharist is the most important celebration, having the living God as its main participant.
It should be modest, with no cleavage and
clothes reaching the knees so that we are
in tune with the sacredness of the church
and help other worshippers to focus on
God, and not on our bodies.

SPONSORS LETTERS AND IMMIGRATION LETTERS
In order to get a sponsor certificate letter or an Immigration letter, you need to be registered as a parishioner. A parishioner is someone who:
1. Has registered and has been active at least 2
months prior to the appointment
2. Active (attends mass on Sundays and uses the
envelope for collections.). Rectory staff will verify if a person is an active parishioner. If you
have not registered in our parish, please register
by meeting with the receptionist Mon-Fri 9AM5PM.
PROTECTING GOD’S CHILDREN
WORKSHOP
Protecting God’s children workshop will be on Saturday, August 30th from 9:00am to 12:00pm in English and from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in Spanish. This is a
requirement for all volunteers helping the church
that have any contact with minors. Please register

EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA
Las clases de Educación
religiosa para el año
2014-2015 comenzarán
del 12 al 14 de Septiembre del 2014. Estos días también será la orientación
para los padres y estudiantes. Todo estudiante necesita ser acompañado por uno de los padres por lo
menos. Por los que reciben la Confirmación este año
las clases se reanudarán el 2 de Septiembre. Para los
que recibirán la Confirmación el Octubre del 2015,
las clases empezarán el 6 de Noviembre.
REGISTRACIÓN DE EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA
Aún están abiertas las inscripciones para la Educación Religiosa para el año 2014-2015.
Para registrar a su niño usted necesita hacer una cita
en persona o llamar a la parroquia de antemano. Al
momento de la registración usted necesita traer el
acta de Bautismo de su niño.
CONFESIONES
Cinco Pasos para una buena Confesión

3. Decir los pecados al confesor.
4. Propósito de no volver a pecar.
5. Recibir la absolución y cumplir la penitencia.

fieles a centrarse en Dios y no en nuestros cuerpos.

CARTAS DE APRADINAJE Y DE INMIGRACION
Para obtener cartas de Inmigración, o un certificado
para ser madrina o padrino debe estar registrado como parroquiano.
Un parroquiano registrado es alguien que:
1. Se ha registrado y ha estado activo por los menos 2
meses antes de la cita.
2. Activo (asiste a misa los domingos y utiliza el sobre de ofrenda correspondiente con su numero parroquial) La rectoría verificará si la persona es un
parroquiano activo. Si no se ha registrado en nuestra
parroquia, por favor regístrese viniendo a la rectoría
de Lunes a Viernes de 9 AM a 5 PM.
TALLER PROTEGIENDO A LOS HIJOS
DE DIOS
Un taller “Protegiendo a los Hijos de Dios” se dará el
sábado, 30 de agosto de 9AM a 12PM en inglés y de
1PM a 4PM en español. Este es un requisito para
todos los voluntarios ayudantes de la parroquia que
tengan cualquier contacto con menores de edad. Por

FROM THE HOLY FATHER
Our reference model is the "three loves of Jesus": for the
Father, for his Mother, for the Church. Great is the love of
Jesus for the Church: Jesus married the Church out of love.
She is His bride: beautiful, holy, and even though She is
sinful, he loves her anyway. And His way to love shows
the "three characteristics" of this love: It is a faithful love; it
is a persevering love, never gets tired of loving his
Church; it is a fruitful love. It is a faithful love! Jesus is the
faithful one! St. Paul, in one of his letters, says: 'If you confess Christ, He will confess you before the Father; if you
deny Christ, He will deny you; if you are not faithful to
Christ, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny himself! '.
Fidelity is the very essence of the love of Jesus. And the
love of Jesus in His Church is faithful. This faithfulness is
like a light on marriage. The fidelity of love. Always. Always faithful, but also increasingly relentless in his perseverance. Just like the love of Jesus for His Bride: Married
life must be persevering, must be persevering. Because
otherwise love cannot go on. Perseverance in love, in good
times and in difficult times, when there are problems: the
problems with the children, economic problems, the problems here, problems there. But love perseveres, it goes
ahead, always trying to work things out, to save the fami-
ly. (Christian spouses are) perseverant: they get up every
morning, the man and the woman, and carry on the family. The Love of Jesus makes the Church fruitful with new
children, Baptisms, and the Church grows with this spousal fertility. In a marriage, that fruitfulness can sometimes
be put to the test when the children do not arrive or are
sick. In these tests, there are couples who watch Jesus and
take power from fruitfulness that Jesus has with His
Church. on the other hand, there are things that Jesus does
not like, that is marriages which are sterile by choice.
These couples who do not want children, who want to remain without fertility. This culture of well-being than ten
years ago convinced us, 'It's better not to have children! It
is better! So you can go and know the world, (you can go)
on vacation, you can have a villa in the countryside, you
do not worry '... But perhaps it is better - more comfortable - to have a dog, two cats, and your love goes to the two
cats and the dog. Is this true or not? Have you seen it?
And in the end this marriage comes to old age in solitude,
with the bad bitterness of solitude. It is not fruitful, does
not do what Jesus does with his Church: He makes Her
fruitful.

LA PALABRA DEL SANTO PADRE
Nuestro modelo de referencia son los "tres amores de
Jesús": para el Padre, por su Madre, la Iglesia. Grande es el
amor de Jesús a ésta ultima: Jesús se casó a la Iglesia por
amor. Es su mujer: bella, santa y pecadora, pero él la ama
de todos modos. Y su forma de amor muestra las "tres características" de este amor: Es un amor fiel; Es un amor
perseverante, nunca se cansa de amar a su Iglesia; es un
amor fecundo. Es un amor fiel! Jesús es el fiel! San Pablo,
en una de sus cartas, dice: "Si usted confiesa a Cristo, Él le
confesara delante del Padre; si reniega a Cristo, Él le renegará a usted, a usted; si no usted es fiel a Cristo, Él permanece fiel, pues no puede negarse a sí mismo!'. La fidelidad es la misma esencia del amor de Jesús. Y el amor de
Jesús en su Iglesia es fiel. Esta fidelidad es como una luz
en el matrimonio. La fidelidad del amor. Siempre. Siempre
fiel! Pero también cada vez más incansable en su perseverancia. Al igual que el amor de Jesús por Su Esposa: la
vida matrimonial debe ser perseverante, debe ser perseverante. Porque de lo contrario el amor no puede continuar. La perseverancia en el amor, en los momentos buenos
y en los momentos difíciles, cuando hay problemas: los
problemas con los hijos, los problemas económicos, los
problemas aquí, problemas allí. Pero el amor persevera,
sigue adelante, siempre tratando de resolver las cosas,
para salvar a la familia. Perseverantes: levantarse cada
mañana, el hombre y la mujer, y llevar a la familia. El
amor de Jesús hace fecunda la Iglesia con nuevos hijos, el
Bautismo y la Iglesia crece con esta fertilidad nupcial. En
un matrimonio esta fertilidad a veces puede ser puesta a
prueba cuando los hijos no llegan o están enfermos. En
estas pruebas, hay parejas que ven a Jesús y toman la fuerza de la fertilidad que Jesús tiene con su Iglesia. Pero tambien hay cosas que a Jesús no le gustan, es decir los matrimonios estériles por elección. Estos matrimonios no
quieren hijos, que quieren quedarse sin la fertilidad. Esta
cultura de bienestar hace diez años nos convenció, 'Es
mejor no tener hijos! Es mejor! Así que usted puede ir a
conocer el mundo, irse de vacaciones, usted puede tener
una villa en el campo, no se preocupe '... Pero es tal vez
mejor - más cómodo - tener un perro, dos gatos, y el amor
va a los dos gatos y al perro. Esto es cierto o no? Lo han
visto? Y al final este matrimonio llega a la vejez en soledad, con la mala amargura de la soledad. No es fructífero,
no hace lo que hace Jesús con su Iglesia: hace la fecunda.
