ANNOUNCEMENTS
WARNING!!!
We have several students with severe peanut
allergies. Please help us in maintaining the safety
and security of all students by sending peanut free
snacks with your children whenever possible.
Kindergarten parents, please return the peanut free
letter that was sent home at back to school night.
The letter is attached to this email as well.
Parties: Although we love to celebrate special
events, we need to be mindful of our nutritional
guidelines for health and wellness. Please do not
bring cakes/sugary snacks to celebrate birthdays.
Fruit Kabobs, popcorn, pretzels, veggies and dip are
acceptable.
Invites to private parties are not to happen at school.
Gift/card exchanges such as Valentines are for
everyone or no one.

donate to SMMEF. This wonderful foundation
affords our school to have excellent programs such
as music, arts, and additional support personnel.

Fall Festival: Our first big social, community-wide
fundraising event of the school year, the one your
kids look forward to the most! We’re looking for
volunteers. Please join us for an information
meeting on Monday, August 31st at 8:30 a.m.
Wellness and Nutrition: Calling all parents with a
passion for wellness and nutrition! The Grant
Health and Wellness committee are working on
many issues which include improving cafeteria food
and the cafeteria environment, encouraging healthy
eating and cooking at home, producing the Grant
cookbook, and organizing screenings of educational
health and nutrition related films for parents. If
you’d like to become involved email
[email protected] and come to our first
meeting next Wednesday 2nd September 6pm,
venue TBD.
REMINDERS
First Day Packets: Please make sure you return all of the documents from the first day packet and read the
materials on-line on our Grant website at http://www.grant.smmusd.org/.
Many of these documents are required. You will save your teachers and the office a lot of time, if you send the
paperwork back before we need to call you. J

ALERTA!!!
Les queremos informar que tenemos varios
estudiantes con severas alergias al
cacahuate o maní. Por favor, envíe snacks
libre de cacahuate o maní para ayudarnos
a mantener la seguridad de todos los
estudiantes. A los padres de Kindergarten
les pedimos que devuelvan cuanto antes la
carta “libre de cacahuate o maní” que se
les entregó la Noche de Regreso a la
Escuela. Esa carta también se adjunta en
este correo electrónico.
Fiestas: Nos encanta celebrar días y
eventos especiales, pero tenemos que ser
conscientes de las guías nutricionales
para la salud y el bienestar de todos los
alumnos. Por favor no traiga pasteles o
bocadillos dulces para celebrar los
cumpleaños. Están permitidas las frutas,
palomitas de maíz, pretzels, vegetales y
aderesos o salsas para acompañar.
RECORDATORIOS
Paquetes de Apertura: Por favor, entregue todos los
documentos del paquete de apertura del primer día
de clases y lea el material en el sitio web de Grant
http://www.grant.smmusd.org. Es obligatorio
entregar varios de esos documentos. Ahorrémosle
trabajo al personal de la oficina al entregar el
paquete antes que nos llamen J

Nuestro primer gran evento social de toda
la comunidad de Grant para la recaudación
de recaudación de fondos, es uno de los
eventos que sus hijos están esperando!
Necesitamos voluntarios . Por favor,

Bienestar y Nutrición: Bienestar y Nutricion: El
comité de Grant de Bienestar y Nutrición llama a
todos los padres que sean apasionados por la
nutrición a unirse al comité, el cual está trabajando
en muchos temas como mejorar la comida y el
medio ambiente de la cafetería , fomentar
una alimentación saludable, dar ideas de cómo
cocinar más en la casa, crear un libro de cocina de
Grant y en la presentación de
películas relacionados con la nutrición y la salud
educativa para los padres. Si desea participar envíe

participe de nuestra primera reunión el próximo
miércoles 2 de septiembre a las 6pm. El lugar se
determinará más adelante
