THERESA CATHOLIC CHURCH NOVEMBER 22, 2015 DEACON FRANK P. CROMER 1937-2015 Deacon Frank Patrick Cromer, 78, died on November 13. Born in 1937 near Mound City, Kansas, he was raised Catholic along with his twin brother, Arthur, and six brothers and sisters on their family farm. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Karen Leigh Cromer, to whom he was married for 55 years. Together, they have three children, John, CloAnn and Chris. Additionally, they were blessed with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren (with two more on the way). In this time of tremendous loss, please keep in your personal prayer intentions the family of Deacon Frank, for whom this sudden death has been, and will continue to be, particularly painful. In 1960, Frank graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. For almost 40 years, Frank was an employee of Phillips Petroleum Company and lived throughout the United States with his family, meeting new friends everywhere along the way. In 1975, he entered diaconal training at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston, TX and was ordained May 28, 1978 for the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. He served at St. Francis de Sales Church in Houston, TX and then at St. Theresa in Sugar Land, TX. St. Theresa’s owes much of its health and growth to the passion and dedication of Deacon Frank. Faithful to his vocation to married life and the Diaconate, he has been an exemplary model of servant leadership and evangelical zeal. In lieu of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Frank P. Cromer's name be directed here to St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. THERESA CATHOLIC CHURCH NOVEMBER 22, 2015 LOVING EMBRACE INFERTILITY SUPPORT GROUP: PERPETUAL ADORATION The group meets the 3rd Thursday, each month, 7:309:00 p.m., monthly meeting rotation: Couples Dinner, Ladies Dinner, and Couples Discussion. Loving Embrace is a Catholic educational support group for couples who have endured or are presently enduring the pain and suffering of infertility. For over a decade, the parishioners of St. Theresa have been engaged in a continual act of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. For twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year, the needs of the universal Church, our nation, the parish, our families, and our personal needs have been lifted up to the Lord. The group provides support for coping with infertility and explores resources, methods, and options that are morally faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Emmaus chapel of Perpetual Adoration is open to everyone. The parish invites you to commit to one hour of prayer a week before the Blessed Sacrament. For rotation information contact Shannon Lassen at 832978-6716 [email protected]. There are a few hours during the week in which we only have one adorer. And I pray that this Holy Communion, far from condemning me to punishment, may bring about my pardon and salvation, encompassing me with the armor of faith and the shield of a good will. By it let my vices be done away, all lustful desires extinguished. May it advance me in charity, patience, humility, obedience, and every other virtue. Let it be strong defense against the wiles of all my enemies, visible and invisible, allaying for me every disturbance of flesh and spirit, binding me firmly to you, the one true God, and bringing my last hour to a happy close. I pray, too, that it may be your pleasure to call my sinful self one day to that banquet, wonderful past all telling, where you, with your Son and the Holy Spirit, feast your saints with the vision of yourself, who are true light, the fulfillment of all desires, the joy that knows no ending, gladness unalloyed, and perfect bliss: through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. Saint Thomas Aquinas Q&A I could never be a RCIA sponsor, I’m too busy. We want busy people who are active in church and community activities to be sponsors as they can bring their candidate along with them. A sponsor introduces a candidate to the faith community and helps get them involved. While we like our sponsors to attend some of the catechumenate sessions, about once a month or so, we mainly ask the sponsor introduce the catechumen or candidate to the community and to share their faith life experiences with them. Have a question about RCIA? Email: [email protected] 13 ST.
