DEACON FRANK P. CROMER
1937-2015
Deacon Frank Patrick Cromer, 78,
died on November 13. Born in 1937
near Mound City, Kansas, he was
raised Catholic along with his twin
brother, Arthur, and six brothers and
sisters on their family farm. He is survived by his wife and love of his life,
Karen Leigh Cromer, to whom he was
married for 55 years. Together, they
have three children, John, CloAnn and Chris. Additionally,
they were blessed with seven grandchildren and three great
grandchildren (with two more on the way). In this time of tremendous loss, please keep in your personal prayer intentions
the family of Deacon Frank, for whom this sudden death has
been, and will continue to be, particularly painful.
In 1960, Frank graduated from the University of Kansas with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business. For almost 40 years,
Frank was an employee of Phillips Petroleum Company and
lived throughout the United States with his family, meeting
new friends everywhere along the way.
In 1975, he entered diaconal training at St. Mary's Seminary in
Houston, TX and was ordained May 28, 1978 for the Diocese
of Galveston-Houston. He served at St. Francis de Sales
Church in Houston, TX and then at St. Theresa in Sugar Land,
TX. St. Theresa’s owes much of its health and growth to the
passion and dedication of Deacon Frank. Faithful to his vocation to married life and the Diaconate, he has been an exemplary model of servant leadership and evangelical zeal. In lieu
of customary remembrances, and for those desiring, the family
requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Frank P.
Cromer's name be directed here to St. Theresa Catholic
Church in Sugar Land.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light
shine upon him. Through the mercy of God, may he rest in
peace.

Dios y destruye tu identidad cristiana”.

The support of our parish for the Diocesan Services Fund

the greater Houston community as well as to those in our

The Catholic Daughters recently celebrated Make a Difference Day by packing and gift-wrapping 124 shoe
boxes for the seafarers who come into the Port of Houston. This is one of the annual projects that the court
does each November.
Teaching, Evangelization, and Worship
Ministries charged with this mission administer the largest private school system in Texas and sustain numerous
religious education programs serving more than 100,000
people of all ages. They also promote the Catholic faith,
reach out to other faiths, advocate for social justice and
support liturgical and musical ministries throughout the
Archdiocese.

Answering the call to serve the least among us, these
ministries bring pastoral and sacramental aid to the disadvantaged, the disabled, and those who are most in
need of God’s healing grace. Whether comforting refugees or battered women, those confined to a prison cell
or hospital bed, they show compassion to those in the
margins of our society.
SHARING SUNDAY— PURPLE TAG NIGHT
Purple Tag Night will be Friday, December 4, 2015 in
the Family Life Center room B at 6:30 p.m. Volunteers
are needed to help prepare tree tags. Come and join us!
Promoting, Preparing and Supporting the Clergy
Vocational ministries address the full range of support for
the clergy from the beginning stages of discernment to
retirement. These ministries offer education and formation of men for the priesthood and permanent diaconate as well as provide direct sacramental and pastoral
care, spiritual direction, and fraternal support as they
carry out their ministries.
SHARING SUNDAY
CHRISTMAS GIFT PROGRAM
Sharing Sunday is our annual gift distribution for needy
families. The program is for families in need of assistance
at Christmas - must be a registered members of St. Theresa Catholic Church. The St. Vincent De Paul gift program is for children only.
Nurturing and Strengthening Families
Family ministries nurture the most basic core unit of
Christian life by caring for human and spiritual needs of
family members. These range from the spiritual formation
of young people at different ages of development to
providing dignified care for the elderly. These ministries
also address the needs of different ethnic constituencies
and respect for the sanctity of life.
Sharing Sunday will be on December 12 & 13- please
bring unwrapped gifts to Mass along with the purple tag
attached. We will also need help moving the gifts from
the church to the family life center after each Mass.
If you have not yet pledged to this year’s Diocesan Services Fund, please do at www.SugarLandCatholic.com!
There are over 60 ministries in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston that depend upon the support of generous parishioners like you.

LOVING EMBRACE INFERTILITY SUPPORT GROUP:
PERPETUAL ADORATION
The group meets the 3rd Thursday, each month, 7:309:00 p.m., monthly meeting rotation: Couples Dinner,
Ladies Dinner, and Couples Discussion.
Loving Embrace is a Catholic educational support group
for couples who have endured or are presently enduring
the pain and suffering of infertility.
For over a decade, the parishioners of St. Theresa have
been engaged in a continual act of prayer before the
Blessed Sacrament. For twenty-four hours a day, every
day of the year, the needs of the universal Church, our
nation, the parish, our families, and our personal needs
have been lifted up to the Lord.
The group provides support for coping with infertility
and explores resources, methods, and options that are
morally faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
The Emmaus chapel of Perpetual Adoration is open to
everyone. The parish invites you to commit to one
hour of prayer a week before the Blessed Sacrament.
For rotation information contact Shannon Lassen at 832978-6716 [email protected].
There are a few hours during the week in which we
only have one adorer.

THANKSGIVING AFTER MASS
I thank you, holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God,
who deigned to feast me, sinful and unworthy servant, with the precious body and blood of your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord, not for any merit of mine, but
only because of your merciful goodness. And I pray
that this Holy Communion, far from condemning me
to punishment, may bring about my pardon and salvation, encompassing me with the armor of faith and
the shield of a good will. By it let my vices be done
away, all lustful desires extinguished. May it advance
me in charity, patience, humility, obedience, and
every other virtue. Let it be strong defense against the
wiles of all my enemies, visible and invisible, allaying for me every disturbance of flesh and spirit, binding me firmly to you, the one true God, and bringing
my last hour to a happy close. I pray, too, that it may
be your pleasure to call my sinful self one day to that
banquet, wonderful past all telling, where you, with
your Son and the Holy Spirit, feast your saints with
the vision of yourself, who are true light, the fulfillment of all desires, the joy that knows no ending,
gladness unalloyed, and perfect bliss: through the
same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Q&A
I could never be a RCIA sponsor, I’m too busy.
We want busy people who are active in church and
community activities to be sponsors as they can bring
their candidate along with them. A sponsor introduces
a candidate to the faith community and helps get them
involved.
While we like our sponsors to attend some of the catechumenate sessions, about once a month or so, we
mainly ask the sponsor introduce the catechumen or
candidate to the community and to share their faith life
experiences with them.
Have a question about RCIA?
