without possibility of parole, Pope St. John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI
and Pope Francis have all stated there is no need for the death penalty in
our community, Now is the time for our state to join the growing number
of state who have abolished capital punishment. We ask you to prayfully
consider joining the efforts to end the death penalty.

A STORY OF SURVIVAL AND FORGIVENESS

In 2006, Fr. Douglas Bazi was kidnapped and tortured by a
militant extremist group in his native Iraq. He will share his
witness of survival, forgiveness, the reality of Christian
persecution, and the gift of religious freedom in his talk,
“Christian Genocide:
A Story of Survival and
Forgiveness.” This event is free and open to the public. A
freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Knights of
Columbus’ Christian relief efforts in Iraq.
